In IDC's words: Shopify is “widening the gap between itself and all competitors.” Shopify is ranked #1 in worldwide digital commerce applications market share for 2025. IDC’s report shows that we grew 2x compared to the entire market’s overall growth, gained more market share than any other vendor IDC tracked, and now have 2.7x the market share of the next-largest vendor. I’m sharing all this because it begs one question. Why are so many brands moving to Shopify? IDC’s take is that brands want simplicity, they want scale, and they want to be ready for AI. We think that read is right. Commerce is only getting more complex. New channels keep emerging. Customer expectations keep rising. AI is changing how products are discovered and how transactions begin. The answer cannot be to make every brand rebuild the foundations of commerce each time the market moves. For twenty years, Shopify has taken on the hard, common parts of commerce so brands can spend more of their time on what they actually care about: their products, their customers, and the experiences that make their businesses different. If you’re a W-2 corporate executive making over $250K/year, you have a mountain of monetizable skills that you’re selling to one buyer at a discount. You have one source of income, one CEO and one board of directors making decisions about your career and your pay. Your only negotiating power is threatening to leave and go to zero income for a while in the hope of finding a better W-2 where you’ll have the exact same problem. The problem is the W-2 structure itself - not just your company. So what's the best alternative? Doing what you currently do at your company for multiple companies so no single one can control your income. Fractional. Your company pays you right now for one of three reasons. - Generate more revenue (marketing, sales, or growth) - Manage/save costs (finance, operations, or procurement) - Reduce expensive risk (cybersecurity or compliance) We call it the Trifecta. If your company pays you for it, other companies will too. You can even start this on the side of your W-2. We helped a client, Jon, sign a contract worth over $100K - while he was still working his W-2. We helped a client, Stephen, close his first $20K month - while he was still working his W-2 too. Results aren't typical or guaranteed and individual outcomes depend on effort, market conditions, and execution but that’s what’s possible. You're using the same career skills. It's just a different structure. Now if this sounds like a fork in the road - it isn't. The only decision in front of you is: do I want to learn another way to monetize my expertise? That's it. That's all you have to decide. You don't need much time. Five hours a week is enough to start. You're giving yourself more options, not less. Your only option shouldn’t be to keep selling yourself to one employer who caps your salary and your upside. If you want to see how what you've always done in your W-2 executive roles looks like as a fractional executive role... I made a custom GPT that interviews you about your career background and tells you: - What you'd offer to companies fractionally - What types of companies to target with that - What monthly retainer you can typically charge for that DM me "Offer” and I'll send it to you

If I were making $250K+ a year as a corporate executive and felt trapped… I wouldn't ask for a promotion. More money just means longer hours, more meetings, more travel. I wouldn't jump to a competitor. Different logo, same responsibilities, same Sunday night dread. I wouldn't buy a boring business. Six-figure debt for something I don't know how to run. I'd take the skill my company already pays me for and sign 2-3 fractional engagements. In a W-2, every raise, every promotion, every day off has to be approved by someone else. You only have control over your career if you have options… And the W-2 leaves you with just one option. You can blame your company as much as you want but the real problem is that they're your only option so you're forced to put up with it. So what's the best alternative? Doing what you currently do at your company, for more companies. Fractional. Most executives start fractional on the side before they ever leave their job. And you don't need to leave if you don't want to. Take our client Jon, who spent 15 years in procurement and supply chain, miserable in a corporate role he couldn't picture doing for another 25 years. Working just 1-2 hours a day on the side of his 9-5, within 2 months, he signed a fractional contract worth over $100K. We helped a client, Stephen, close his first $20K month - while he was still working his W-2. He had a little over five years in data analytics, and he assumed that wasn't enough to be worth anything to anyone else but it is when you present your value the right way. Results aren't typical or guaranteed and individual outcomes depend on effort, market conditions, and execution but that's what's possible. You can start with one engagement, on the side, while everything you have today stays exactly as it is. You don't leave your role until you've got consistent income coming in and money saved. The point of fractional is you have more options - not less. Now how do you sign fractional engagements? No matter how accomplished you are in your W-2 career, your career experience alone isn't enough. That's just table stakes. The process to acquire fractional engagements is totally different from how you've always acquired W-2 roles. So I made a full video on exactly how to sign them: - The 3 shifts you must make to look like an expert with value to offer instead of an employee desperate for a job - The 4 best go-to-market vectors to get the CEOs of your ideal target companies on the phone with you - The 4 things almost every new fractional executive and consultant does instead that almost never work DM me "Fractional" and I'll send it to you

Was haltet ihr davon?

In complex sourcing, simplifying too early can also mean reducing competition too early. When new technologies, unfamiliar suppliers or different solution concepts are involved, the natural response is often to simplify. But narrowing the field before the options have been properly evaluated can mean missing out on potential opportunities and weakening your negotiating position. It can also increase the risk of unnecessary costs. In the article below, I share some thoughts on why this happens and what can be done differently.

The conversations in oncology today look very different than 10 years ago. Ahead of #ESMO26, Susan Galbraith and I sat down to reflect on a decade of innovation in cancer care – whats moved the needle most for patients, where we got it right, where we have to keep pushing, and what the next ten years could unlock. Stick around to the end to hear how we have changed along the way (but if you know Susan, her response won’t come as a surprise). Looking ahead, what do you think will be the biggest game-changer in cancer care that we'll look back on in 10 years?

Most roadmaps have the Cyber Resilience Act in the 2027 column. The reporting obligations went live on 11 September 2026. Twenty-four hours for an early warning, counted from the moment you become aware, not from publication. ENISA’s platform has no API. A person fills in a web form, under that clock. And as of October, not one CRA harmonised standard has been cited in the Official Journal. There is no presumption of conformity to lean on yet. I wrote up what we learned building a CRA evidence register. Including the audit where 270 of 270 components came with no licence information, why the expensive part is not finding the vulnerability but updating everything it invalidates, and where we decided the AI stops and a person signs.

Mein Team hat mir zwei Tassen Grüntee hingestellt. Exakt derselbe Tee. Gleiche Ziehzeit. Gleiche Wassertemperatur. Also habe ich zuerst gerochen. Die eine Tasse roch deutlich intensiver. Dann der erste Schluck. Okay. 🍵😇🙏🏻

Starlink, Europe's biggest telcos and Washington are now fighting over one thing: who connects your phone from space. The European Commission plans to reserve part of the 2 GHz satellite band for European operators. The US ambassador to the EU, Andrew Puzder, told the Financial Times that retaliation would be "very devastating". Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone have signed a letter of intent to explore a joint bid for that spectrum and bring direct-to-device satellite service to Europe. Satellites promise mobile coverage without borders. The fight over who provides it is all about borders. But for operators, the real question goes beyond spectrum: Who owns the customer? Who rates the usage and sends the bill? Who gets paid when a satellite and a mobile network deliver one service? At Tridens, that's what we work on every day: real-time charging, convergent billing and partner settlements on one engine. Whoever wins the spectrum, someone still has to bill for the connection. Who do you think will own the customer: the satellite provider or the mobile operator? #starlink #telecom #bss #billing #monetization

Gradually, then suddenly. This is the travel volume our customers book through Payhawk this year. Dark green is flights, light green is hotels. For eight months it barely moved. A good month, then a normal one. August looked like every month before it. Then September hit. Nothing special happened in September. What happened was months of work that made no difference to this chart while we were doing it. We fixed reliability before adding anything new. We fixed the flights flow people were already using. We started automatically checkin in users instead of building a UI for them to do it. We got hotels to the point where you can hand the agent the whole trip and will automatically book a cheaper offer if your price drops. We won back our sales and implementation teams. None of that shows up in the month you do it. It shows up later, all at once, and from the outside it looks like luck. The leap is decided in the flat months 🙂

Commercial vehicle safety is evolving rapidly. As the commercial vehicle safety landscape is undergoing its biggest transformation in decades, the industry has an opportunity to rethink how we protect drivers, operators, and passengers. Preventing incidents remains essential, but effective safety also requires protection when the unexpected happens. Last week at Autolivs Commercial Vehicle Tech Days in Vårgårda, we welcomed customers and partners to explore how a full-system approach can help address that challenge. Over two days, we demonstrated how research, virtual and physical testing, software, electronics, restraint technologies, and vehicle integration can work together to support the complete safety journey. The discussions reinforced an important point: the best safety outcomes do not come from individual components alone. They come from technologies and expertise working together as one coordinated system. The event also showcased the strength of collaboration across Autoliv. From research and development to testing, manufacturing, and customer engagement, our teams came together around a shared purpose: helping protect people in a wide range of commercial vehicle applications. Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared insights, and contributed to the discussions. Together, we are helping shape the next chapter of commercial vehicle safety. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁. 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. I spent the week at NVIDIA GTC Berlin, most of it at Nebius House, where Andersen Europe came to meet the Nebius team and work out how we sell together. The referral agreement itself was signed and announced a week earlier, so the meeting was about the practical part: which accounts, which workloads, who does what. Link to the announcement is in the first comment. On paper it is a simple story. Andersen can now bring enterprise clients to 𝗡𝗲𝗯𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 for training and inference, and we support those projects with consulting, custom engineering and integration. I am excited about this one, and not in the press-release sense: I have known the Nebius team for a while, and this is the first European AI cloud partner where I can see a full project, from architecture to migration to running it, done by our own engineers. And I think it is a sovereignty story, and here is why. Nebius is headquartered in 𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 and builds its capacity in Europe: a 𝟯𝟭𝟬 𝗠𝗪 site in Lappeenranta, Finland, a 𝟮𝟰𝟬 𝗠𝗪 AI factory near Lille, France, with the first phase coming online this year, and more than 𝟳𝟱𝟬 𝗠𝗪 of contracted power across EMEA. For a client in DACH or the Nordics that means the model is trained and served on European soil, under European jurisdiction, with a European legal entity on the contract. In June I wrote about one US export order that locked millions of users out of two frontier models overnight. Everyone agreed it was a wake-up call. The harder question was what to actually do on Monday, because telling a CTO to "reduce dependency" is not a plan. A European AI cloud that a serious integrator can design around, migrate to and run is a plan. Sovereignty is built into the architecture, not bought with a contract: it is an engineering decision about where data lives, which layers you can swap, and how fast you can move a workload if you have to. That is what I call 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆, and it is the part Andersen brings to this partnership. Nebius gives a European company a real choice; our engineers make sure that choice does not vanish when a government on another continent signs a paper on a Thursday afternoon. Thank you Casper E. J. , Björn Dracker and Neil Dabbs for hosting us at Nebius House and for an hour that felt like a working session rather than a partner meeting, and to my colleagues Alexander Sadovskiy and Roman Gorge , who carried the Nebius track on our side from the first call to the signed agreement. Control. Choice. Resilience. Dependency is fine, lock-in is the problem. This week one of the choices became a lot more real. #DigitalSovereignty #EnterpriseAI #AICloud #EuropeanTech #AIInfrastructure
