When I first set out to build the Circular Computing brand and proposition, plenty of people in the industry questioned the logic. Why on earth would any company invest millions in a dedicated facility to remanufacture laptops when the business world was quite happy buying brand new? But today, no one is questioning it, as everything has changed. The price of 'brand new' has skyrocketed as AI data centres are devouring global memory production and chipmakers are shifting capacity away from standard PCs. The result is what many are calling "RAMageddon": sharp price increases, component supply chain bottlenecks and severe pressure on IT budgets. Alongside this, the world has got wise to the sustainability equation for 'new' and we innovated to build a product that is "equal to or better than new". It really is the perfect storm for increased adoption of non-new laptops. As the wider market grapples with increased lead times and rising costs, that commitment to long-term resilience means we are able to support organisations with high-spec, reliable laptops at scale.
- Circular ComputingSince 27 Oct 2026
Five years ago, the world scrambled for any laptops available to keep the lights on and allow people to work from home. Now, those same machines are going through a replacement process, just as we are standing at the edge of a massive IT supply chain crisis. The industry is telling you that you have no choice but to pay the premium. Manufacturers are hiking prices due to RAM and SSD increases, and lead times are growing. They want you to believe "new" is the only way to stay resilient. I believe that is a lie. It is a logic built on waste – both financially and physically. At Circular Computing, we provide enterprise-grade HP, Dell, and Lenovo laptops at scale. We call it "The New New®." This isn’t "second-hand" tech. It is remanufactured to perform like new, but costs up to 40% less and saves CO2, water and minerals with every unit. We only rent this planet from the next generation and buying new isn’t a badge of honour - but being resourceful to get through a crisis is.

It’s always the people who make the difference. If I had to choose one takeaway from my recent business trips to Shanghai, Suzhou, China, and Milan, Italy, this would be it. Over the past two weeks, I had the honor to meet many of our local project and line leaders and experts in person and witness their drive, passion and personality in face-to-face conversations. What impressed me most was the incredible breadth of knowledge across our global teams at Bosch Sensortec GmbH built through years of diverse experiences and perspectives. Equally inspiring was the excitement and curiosity I saw when discussing how AI will shape the future of our projects and innovations. I’m really grateful to collaborate with such a talented and motivated global team. Thank you to everyone who shared their insights, ideas, and enthusiasm along the way. Now it's time for me to carry this energy and inspiration forward to the next big event ahead. #Leadership #ProjectManagement #GlobalCollaboration

DSPs and SerDes devices have an advantage at wafer test. They can use built-in loopback and self-test. Laser drivers and TIAs can't. These analog building blocks need direct RF measurement through a high-integrity probe-card path. As lane speeds move toward 448 Gb/s, that measurement has to hold up beyond 112 GHz. So the question shifts. It's no longer just whether the device performs. It's whether the measurement path can be trusted at these frequencies. Christopher Lemoine and I will dig into this in a FormFactor webinar on November 12: Americas and Europe, 9:00 AM PT: https://lnkd.in/eHBNxtSm Asia-Pacific, 9:00 AM CST: https://lnkd.in/eGKj3Zri #WaferTest #RFMeasurement #OpticalTransceivers

For over two years, our electrical engineering team at StarFish Medical has used Cadstrom.io for AI-driven schematic reviews and it has changed how we work. We used to hold multiple design reviews towards the end of a design: several long meetings, line by line, hunting for errors in a nearly finished schematic. Now Cadstrom.io checks every revision as we go. Pin assignment errors and inconsistent pin naming get flagged when they’re introduced, not weeks later during layout or bring-up. The results have added up: 🔹 Shorter design cycles. Catching issues early means fewer board re-spins and faster bring-up. 🔹 Less library maintenance. We no longer spend hours checking every symbol up front. Cadstrom finds the problems, and we fix them as they appear. 🔹 More confidence. Our engineers have far less hesitation when it’s time to order boards. 🔹 Time for bigger ideas. We still hold design reviews, but they now focus on the overall solution architecture rather than pin-level detail. The time we’ve reclaimed goes into innovation and solving our clients’ hardest problems. In medical device development, quality and speed matter in equal measure. Moving from one big review at the end to continuous checking has been one of the most valuable process changes we’ve made. If your team still saves schematic review for the end of a project, it’s worth a look: Cadstrom.io #MedicalDeviceDesign #ElectricalEngineering #PCBDesign #MedTech #AI

This weekend I am playing around with the BMI088 and the new Arduino UNO Q! 🤖 (I would like a Ventuno but I have way too many SBc to justify a personal purchase). Got the accelerometer and gyroscope working, and now I'm playing with how the two brains on the UNO Q work together. The sensor data is collected by the microcontroller, passed to the Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210 running Linux, and then made available through ROS 2 Jazzy. Pretty cool to have a microcontroller and a Qualcomm processor working together on a single Arduino board! Next, I'd like to test a few more sensors, starting with the BMP581. It’s always fun to play with sensors and see how they could fit into some robots! NVIDIA GTC 2026: From Jensen Huang's keynote to exploring Lenovo’s AI Library through VR! 😎❤️🔥 [Anzeige] That was NVIDIA GTC Europe in Berlin! I’m here to explore: How do we turn all this AI innovation into actual business value? That's exactly what I explored with Lenovo, one of my highlights at GTC! I met C. Simone Larsson, Head of Enterprise AI, explored their AI infrastructure and experienced their AI Library through VR. Think of it as a collection of pre-validated AI agents and use cases that businesses can adapt to their own needs. Here are three examples: ☑️ Predictive Maintenance: AI identifying machine problems before production stops. ☑️ Knowledge Agents: AI connecting information, documents and workflows across an organization. ☑️ Robotic Inspection: Intelligent robots inspecting industrial equipment, including hazardous environments. And here’s what caught my attention: AI is no longer just about cost per token. It’s about VALUE per token. For enterprises, three questions matter: - How can we maximize the economics of AI? - Which AI use cases deliver ROI the fastest? - How can we innovate responsibly while keeping control of our data? That's where Lenovo Hybrid AI Advantage with NVIDIA comes in, combining two key elements: 1. Lenovo AI Library: Pre-validated AI use cases and agents designed to turn AI innovation into real business outcomes. 2. Hybrid AI Factory: The infrastructure, platforms and services to deploy and scale enterprise AI. But let me translate this into number for YOU: ✨ 15 DAYS from order to shipment for Hybrid AI Factories - through the newly launched AI Express (!!) ✨ 66% LOWER cost per token compared to cloud, according to Lenovo. ✨ 90 DAYS to value per token with Lenovo AI Fast Start. And with the newly launched AI Express, Lenovo is introducing an even faster route to its Hybrid AI Factory. So it’s all about how quickly businesses can turn their power into measurable value. Let’s make AI useful in everyday business operations with Lenovo & NVIDIA!! ❤️🔥🦾 If YOU could deploy one AI agent in your company tomorrow, what would you want it to do? Are you using any of the use case from Lenovo AI Library?

Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) remains an important measure of data center energy efficiency, but it no longer tells the full story as AI computing expands. In a recent Forbes byline, I discussed how AI data centers must adapt to rapidly evolving hardware, move heat efficiently from chips to the outside environment and operate within increasingly tight power and water constraints. In this context, efficiency is increasingly about how much of the available power can be directed toward AI computing. At LG Electronics, we are exploring several ways to address this challenge – from reducing cooling energy consumption to recovering waste heat and managing energy more efficiently across the data center. Refrigerant-based free cooling is one approach. When outdoor temperatures are favorable, circulating refrigerant can remove server heat with minimal compressor use, leaving more power available for GPUs and AI workloads. LG’s internal simulations indicate that this approach can reduce annual energy consumption by approximately 30% compared with waterside free cooling, while also reducing freezing risk and the need to manage glycol concentration. Waste heat recovery is another opportunity. Rather than releasing data center heat into the outdoor environment, we are exploring waste heat recovery heat pumps and hybrid absorption chillers that can put low-temperature heat to productive use. Applications include on-site heating and hot water, as well as district heating and process heat for nearby buildings and industrial facilities. Integrated control is equally important. As AI data centers grow more complex, optimizing individual pieces of cooling equipment is no longer enough. Chillers, coolant distribution units (CDUs) and fan wall units (FWUs) need to operate as a coordinated system. LG’s Data Center Cooling Manager (DCCM) uses digital twin technology to monitor cooling infrastructure, predict operating conditions and automatically adjust controls. In LG’s testing, this approach delivered energy savings of up to 40%. Coordinated control of CDUs and FWUs also increased the CDU load factor from 65% to as high as 80%. LG’s portfolio spans chillers, CDUs, FWUs, heat pumps and energy management solutions. By bringing these technologies together, we aim to improve energy management across the entire data center rather than optimizing components in isolation. As power, water and space become increasingly constrained, the key question is how much computing performance a data center can deliver with the resources it has. Cooling can make a meaningful difference — not only by reducing its own energy consumption, but also by making more power available for AI computing. I've spent the past few months on the road across Northern Victoria and South Western NSW, meeting future and current customers on farm to talk through what AgTech and INCYT can do for them. One thing has become obvious pretty quickly, no farm is the same, and no two operations needs the same set of tools. Thats a huge part of my job, meeting farmers wherever they're at with tech and supporting their adoption of it. This is one of my favourite shots from between Maude and Balranald, where I spent a couple of days recently. 🇨🇭 5,000 shoppers asked an AI Human for directions , gift ideas and the restaurant in 3 months . Here's how Emilia made it into the 'Harrods of Switzerland' For almost 150 years LOEB AG has put the customer first , with an in-store experience they call 'retailtainment' What's more entertaining than a life-size AI Human ? One that speaks the local dialect - no less. Emilia stands next to the escalators in Bern . Kids , grandparents , everyone in between , asking in their own language - where's the restaurant ? which floor has the kids' shoes ? what do I get my mum for her birthday ? Affectionately known as the 'Harrods of Switzerland' , Loeb is a heritage brand with a long history of trust to protect. So placing an AI Human in-store was a risk . It's a risk that paid off. The shoppers like Emilia , so do the staff. She helps out when it gets busy , knows her way around all eight floors , and makes people smile . Big thank you to Martin Stucki and his team from Loeb for the vision. And thank you to Nicolas Yann Sellin who led it from our side. The tech only matters as much as the answer a shopper walks away with AI Humans can find their place in any brand. Start with what your customers keep asking !

Over the past weeks, I’ve been spending time with our Sovereign Cloud Services Provider (CSP) partners and customers, discussing the rapid evolution of Europe’s cloud landscape. Across all these conversations, one thing is becoming abundantly clear: sovereignty’s center of gravity has shifted from where data physically sits to who has ultimate operational control and access. With the rapid rise of AI, navigating this shift is no longer just an IT preference—it is a critical move to ensure business continuity. In my latest blog post, I share key reflections from these discussions and insights from Forum Europe’s EU Sovereign Cloud Day, exploring: 🔍 Why AI is acting as a massive driver for sovereignty demand. 📉 Why scale remains the single biggest barrier to a stronger European sovereign cloud market. 🤝 Why the path forward lies in strategic, capability-boosting partnerships. I would love to hear your thoughts and real-life experiences on how your organizations are approaching these changes. Read the full piece here:

Autonomous platforms are anything but one-size-fits-all. The compute behind them shouldn’t be either. From size and weight constraints, to processing demands and extreme environments, every application brings a different set of challenges. Over the past couple of weeks, I've shared some thoughts about two things that become increasingly important in micro-bump probing: process control and alignment. They're part of a much bigger conversation. How much alignment margin is really required? How should probe geometry and contact area be evaluated? How much force is necessary? How much bump deformation is acceptable? And how do you determine whether a probing approach that works during development is ready for high-volume manufacturing? These are questions we've encountered through years of micro-bump probing development and production applications. On October 8, Alan Liao and I are going to take a deeper look at them during our webinar, Breaking Down Micro-bump Probing Myths. We'll separate some of the common assumptions around micro-bump probing from what we've observed in actual applications and production environments.
