Advocaten Familie- & Erfrecht

A partner at one of the top global consulting firms told me something that I haven't stopped thinking about. The output of their associates has multiplied massively. They're getting 30, 40 slides in a deck, all look extremely well polished, better than they ever looked before. Of course, AI has helped with that. Problem is, they can't tell what's actually good anymore. A slide can look airtight and still be wrong, and nobody catches it until it's in front of a client. So now they're looping in subject matter experts earlier in the process. Not to build the slides. To validate them before they get in front of a client. That's the shift I keep seeing. You still need someone who's actually lived the subject to tell you if it's true.

A friend at Bain & Company told me something last week. Consultants are scared for the bottom of the consulting pyramid... AI has already resulted in fewer associates at the lower layer, essentially an expectation for higher output from each associate. Which means fewer associates to hire and a smaller pool to promote to the partner level. But the interesting enhanced layer is in the middle... the subject matter experts. The people who actually know what's happening on the ground have become more important than ever as weve seen Infoquest Will we be seeing more people move from Industry into consulting? Is the traditional route from Associate to Partner going to change?

I’ve never been this excited to make a work-related announcement in my life. The business I started three and a half years ago (Condor Group) is an Official Supporter of the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, a DP World Tour event from 5th to 8th November! ⛳️ Anyone who’s met me knows that golf makes up a huge part of my life, as does running my business, so this feels like a collision of two worlds. Seeing the Condor logo next to the DP World Tour’s and so many others still feels surreal! I’m sure you’ll be seeing more from me and from Condor Group over the next few weeks, so I’ll wrap this post here. I can’t wait for a week of building relationships with clients, partners and leaders we’re looking to connect with in the region… and, importantly, the golf.

Sport taught me what I know about performance excellence. Back in 2007, after rowing full-time for years and trialling at U23 level, I made a difficult and deliberate decision to step away from the sport. The risk of dedicating four or five years to an Olympic cycle and still not making it felt too high, and I chose to start building a career instead. (People in my network have actual Olympic medals, and I'm certainly not in their league 😅) Whilst rowing, I learnt to create a repeatable process, that once perfected meant the outcome took care of itself. Focusing on controlling what you can control to have the biggest impact, as documented extensively by the likes of the GB Cycling Team, GB Rowing Team and others. Sometimes referred to as "Kaizen": the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. 1% marginal gain, constantly. Always asking "is what we're doing going to make us faster/ better?" The result? Team GB performance at Summer Olympics improved from 15 medals at Atlanta 1996 to a peak of 67 medals at Rio 2016, and has stabilised around that level. I soon found I was able to transfer that thinking to operational excellence as I took my career from Tesco to BT to Barclays and Capita. I've seen every operational programme in terms of that foundational principle. How do we optimise what we can control? It helps you see how to be a little bit better every day, and how to build a process around obsessively achieving your goals and objectives. We can't all be chasing Olympic medals, I know that all too well! One of my life goals ended in 2007, but shaped everything I've done since. But continuous improvement is a daily discipline that I can promise you reaps rich rewards - again and again. (This is me exactly 20 years ago with a silver medal at the British National Championships!)

What consulting and trail running have in common? A constant uphill battle (as can be seen in this race picture) and the need for people who push you on the steep parts. 🏃➡️🏔️ We're looking for you because all of this is more fun (and easier to endure 😉) with the right teammates and cheering crew! At accilium, the climb is set up for your development. ⏱️Your pace: promotions follow your own people year, without a fixed cycle. 🛣️Your trail: up to two years on real projects before you commit to a practice. 👏Your cheering crew: a buddy, weekly talks with your People Manager, partners next to you from day one. 🪟Your view: C-level clients early in projects in energy, mobility and the public sector. I'm an Associate Partner in Munich, Strategy is my practice. Why I keep climbing here: I can shape things and see what they lead to. Time to break down what’s driving performance across entertainment, media and licensing. 🍿 At the box office, Project Hail Mary didn’t win on scale. It won by changing how people understood the movie. Early perception leaned science-heavy. Late campaign reframed it as emotional, accessible, and human. That shift lowered the barrier. Add Ryan Gosling, and it converted. 🎬 As we move into the early summer corridor, one gap is becoming more important than anything else: Awareness vs conversion. Universal Pictures is already converting momentum for The Super Mario Galaxy through partnerships, retail, and global activations. 📺 Per Looper Insights, on streaming, the competition has shifted layers. It’s no longer only about what you have. It’s about where you show up. Peacock concentrated attention around cultural moments. HBO Max distributed it across its catalog. Both work. The advantage goes to whoever controls the screen first. 🌏 And once something works, streaming amplifies it. Netflix One Piece and War Machine are holding at scale. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure scaled globally in days. When theatrical hits streaming, like Zootopia 2, it doesn’t peak. It expands. The entire IP moves with it. 🎵 Music is running on the same system. Songs aren’t breaking at release. They’re breaking through circulation. - Dominic Fike through rediscovery. - Zara Larsson through cultural moments. - BTS through fanbase scale. Different triggers. Same outcome. Sustained presence. 📱 And then there’s social authority. Dua Lipa shows what that looks like now. Not reach. Behavior. That’s why her role with Nespresso matters. It places the product inside something people want to replicate. 💡 Partnerships are evolving in the same direction. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is building depth through lifestyle alignment. The Super Mario Galaxy is scaling through reach, frequency, and collectibles. Different strategies. Same objective. Turn attention into participation. Which brings it back to the headline. 🎥 Trailer views are becoming the easiest metric to celebrate and the hardest to interpret. What matters is what happens after people press play. For Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the signal is clear. The trailer is reinforcing the floor, not expanding the ceiling. Strong baseline demand. Sustained interest. No breakout surge yet. The bigger shift is this: We’re no longer in an awareness-driven industry. We’re in a momentum-driven one. Performance comes from how well you convert. And how long you can keep that momentum moving across platforms, formats, and behaviors. That’s where the real signal is now. Time to break down what’s actually driving performance across entertainment, media, and licensing. This week, the pattern is clearer than ever. The industry isn’t operating in cycles anymore. It’s operating in systems. 🍿 At the box office, a handful of titles are doing most of the work. Illumination Super Mario Galaxy Movie and MGM's Project Hail Mary aren’t breaking out in a single moment. They’re stabilizing the entire market through sustained demand. 📺 On streaming, engagement is concentrating. A return like A24 / HBO Euphoria can reactivate global conversation overnight, while titles like Netflix's Virgin River, One Piece, and Ludo Studio's Bluey continue to drive consistent, repeatable viewership. At the same time, content gaps are making every new release hit harder. 🎧 In music, the cycle is even tighter. A Coachella performance can push an artist back into the charts. A new release from Olivia Rodrigo can take the #1 spot within days. Attention is resetting in real time. 🎯 And marketing is shifting fast. The Walt Disney Company's The Devil Wears Prada 2 is already operating at scale before release through a network of global partnerships, generating $100M+ in marketing value. But here’s the tension: - Awareness is high. - Intent is flat. 🌐 Meanwhile, platforms are becoming the front line. Per Looper Insights Home screen placement is now one of the most valuable pieces of media inventory. Discovery isn’t happening through campaigns. It’s happening through interfaces. 💡 The shift is structural. It’s no longer about who creates the biggest moment. It’s about who can stay in motion across the system. Because awareness is no longer the constraint. Conversion is. 📌 Also worth checking this week: open roles across the industry. Some really strong opportunities, including Head of Marketing for Beast Games at MrBeast.

Right... where do I even start with this one? Hosting ConCon26: Fall Edition back in May was honestly one of the best days I've had in this job. 500+ boutique consulting leaders, 15+ speakers who actually know what they're talking about, and a room (well, a virtual one) full of people who finally had an event built for them instead of the Goliaths. Because that's the bit that stuck with me most. The boutique consulting space has been underserved for years. Most conferences, most research, most content... all built around the big firms. ConCon26: Fall Edition was never meant to be that. It was built for the people actually running these firms day to day, the ones who don't usually get a seat built for them. So here CMap we're hosting it again. 2026 has thrown everything at consulting leaders... AI, macro trends, geo-politics, shifting customer habits, a wildly different competitive landscape, investment decisions, even what your own people expect from you now. Disruption's always been part of this industry, but this year's felt like a different level entirely. Most people I speak to are already taking stock of it & starting to think about what 2027 needs to look like. ConCon26: Fall Edition is where we get into exactly that. Thursday 5th November, 2pm-6pm GMT | 9am-1pm ET. 4 talks plus a keynote, 10+ speakers who'll leave you inspired, informed & prepared, not just talked at. Built for this community, same as always. If May felt like it was made for you, November will too. Register today - https://hubs.ly/Q04ydnjG0

Disruption and being reactive to change has always been part of running a consulting firm, but this year has felt different. AI, macro challenges, geopolitics, radical shifts in client expectations – it feels like we’ve had 9 years of change in the last 9 months..! As a leader, in times like this, the temptation is always to do more, more, more. Turn your focus internally in your org – spin up more initiatives, new tactics, new ways of working, and compound the crazy external change with crazy internal change. More than ever, having the external perspective and headspace as a leader to calmly and clearly plot your way through this disruption is crucial. Challenge yourself: are you playing whack-a-mole in your business, or are you playing chess? To help the consulting community get this broader perspective, delighted to say we’re running ConCon26: Fall Edition - four talks and a keynote, 10+ speakers. Thursday November 5th, 1:45pm to 6pm GMT (8:45am to 1pm ET). Virtual and free to join. Take a few hours out, get perspectives from the broader Consulting community, and leave with greater clarity on the path forward for your business – your team will thank you for it! Klar, KI macht gerade vieles anders bzw. überhauptMöglich. Aber es ist kein reines Technologie-Thema. Es ist zuerst ein unternehmerisches Thema. Denn in vielen Nischen gibt es seit Jahren dieselben Engpässe: - Kunden stellen immer wieder ähnliche Fragen. - Leistungen werden immer wieder ähnlich erbracht. - Teams lösen dieselben Fälle immer wieder neu. - Wissen steckt in wenigen Schlüsselpersonen.

Dann Budget. Erst Marktlernen. Dann Skalierung. Corporate Assets ja. Corporate Betriebssystem nein.

In your therapeutic area, which European city is home to the most clinical guideline authors? Most people we asked got it wrong. I'm not surprised. We read the guidelines, we quote them and we apply them, but we rarely stop to look at who wrote them and where they work. In my work mapping medical networks, I see how much weight these documents carry for the clinicians of a given field. Their research and their practice are shaped by texts that a small group of experts, spread across several countries, has written, and whose influence goes well beyond their own hospitals and borders. I wanted a clearer picture of who these authors are. So at Vélite we gathered European guidelines for almost every therapeutic area and went through their authors one by one to record where each of them practises. We then placed all of it on a map, the first of its kind as far as we know. This map answers the question we started with, but also provides us with unexpected additional insights into to landscape of clinical guidelines. Yolaine de Villers and I will present this mapping in a free 45-minute webinar on Tuesday 6 October at 12:30 (Paris time). Register here to join us: https://lnkd.in/eXzTYkPk

We kijken naar hetzelfde. Maar zien we ook hetzelfde? Mexico, 2014. #Samenwerken #Leiderschap #SocialeVeiligheid
