Mijn rol als CISO verandert niet zozeer. Maar mijn taken, verantwoordelijkheid en bevoegdheden wel. Onderdeel daarvan is steeds vaker ongevraagd, soms ongewenst advies geven. Why does 20% of leather disappear before shipment? Most factory owners blame cutting. That’s usually not the real problem. After working inside leather factories, I’ve seen waste start much earlier: Wrong vendor selection. Weak lot inspection. Poor material planning. No consumption benchmarks. Late quality checks. Production running while old stock sits in the warehouse. By the time finance sees the loss, profit is already gone. This is why ERP is not about software. It’s about visibility. When you can trace: Which vendor supplied the leather Which lot entered production Which line created defects Which order created rework Which stock is sitting idle Waste stops being “normal.” It becomes measurable. Fixable. Profitable. We work with one industry only: Leather manufacturing. Because leather factories don’t need generic ERP consultants. They need operators who understand cutting yield, lot traceability, contractor stitching, QA leakage, and shipment pressure. If you run a leather factory and want to see what a 45-day control system looks like - Send me a message.

Walk into any large leather factory's store room. Somewhere in there is cash that stopped moving. Zippers for a cancelled order. Hardware broughtfor a design that never went onto production. Lining fabric over-ordered on an estimate that turned out wrong. Dead inventory. Tied-up capital. And because nobody tracks it systematically, purchasing keeps reordering materials already on the shelf. For an 8-figure leather business, this isn't a minor inefficiency. It's a working capital problem that compounds silently month after month. Our 45-Day 8-Figure Leather Factory Control System gives you a live inventory view with lot-level tracking, reservation against active orders, and alerts when stock is ageing without demand. You stop rebuying what you already own. You free up cash. You reduce the waste that accumulates when materials sit long enough to become unusable. If your stores team can't tell you - right now - what's on the shelf and how old it is, send us a message.

SolarWinds will give you data out of the box, but not necessarily the insights you want. Without the foundation work, like labelling nodes, mapping dependencies, and grouping by business services, SolarWinds doesn't understand your environment. It just monitors what you point it at. The result is alert noise, dashboards that don't help, and teams that stop trusting the tool. In this clip, Eric Bauer (VP of Solutions Engineering at SolarWinds) and I discuss why taking a step back to lay the foundation is the most overlooked step in getting genuine value from SolarWinds. — P.S. SolarWinds not performing as expected? Let us audit your platform, identify critical risks and opportunities, and walk you through what to fix first. Most IT teams measure SolarWinds by uptime and effective alerts, but the real value is what it tells you about your business. Because when SolarWinds has enough depth of insight into your environment, it starts to surface the cost of downtime and opportunities to increase output. Things like a database query slowing down a critical system that would get 20% more output once fixed. At this point, SolarWinds starts to have a measurable impact on the bottom line. That's when senior leadership realises their "monitoring tool" has the potential to be a lot more. In this clip, I talk through this with Eric Bauer (VP of Solutions Engineering at SolarWinds) using a mining example and what's now become our favourite analogy. — P.S. Envois manuels. 😅

AI can write your code. It can generate your tests. It can even refactor your architecture. But it can't own the outcome when something doesn’t work. AI is incredible at execution. But it can't make trade-offs. It can't prioritize a roadmap. It can't take responsibility for a missed deadline or a production incident. That's what humans do. In an AI-augmented world, that layer becomes more critical, not less. If your offshore partner can't tell you who owns the decisions AI can't make (who's accountable for architecture, for prioritization, for outcomes), you have an accountability gap. And AI is about to make it much more visible. Ask "Who on this team actually owns the outcome?" If your vendor can't answer with a name and a face, you're merely renting capacity, not buying results. What's the one thing you wish your offshore team owned (but doesn't)? Let's talk about it in the comments.
- InnostaxRecorded 23 Sept 2026
Your offshore vendor just rebranded their developers as "AI-enabled engineers." Nothing else changed. That should worry you. Body shops are slapping "AI-powered" on their websites without changing their business model. Same capacity-based pricing. Same lack of accountability. Same developers, just with access to Copilot now. Here's the thing about AI: it's a wild horse. Powerful, fast, efficient. It's the best option until you actually need to ride it and control where it's going. AI tools don't fix an accountability gap. If your vendor was optimizing for billable hours before, they're still optimizing for billable hours. Now they're just billing you for AI-generated code that someone still needs to review, debug, and own. Ask this: "Who owns the outcome when the AI-generated code fails in production?" Most vendors won't answer directly. Adding AI to a broken model doesn't fix the model. Look for vendors who can actually ride the horse, who have the technical leadership to steer AI toward outcomes, not just faster output. Have you seen this? Vendors rebranding without actually changing anything? Drop your experience in the comments.

Nonfunctional requirements, things like safety, explainability, and auditability matter more than ever in this next wave of AI-driven systems.

Business-always. AI-now.

I managed infrastructure with Terragrunt for years before I joined Gruntwork. In those years, I had to manually re-invent the wheel every time I wanted to automate running Terragrunt in CI *the right way*. If I could have, I would have outsourced this responsibility to a party I trusted, as it was undifferentiated heavy lifting and tedious to set up manually. I'm proud of the fact that nowadays Gruntwork offers a fantastic service in Terragrunt Scale, saving engineers the toil of setting this up on their own. I'm especially proud of the fact that it runs directly in user controlled GitHub Actions / GitLab CI Pipelines runners, with no access to customer cloud resources from Gruntwork servers. Everything it does is driven by GitOps workflows configured in your repositories, keeping you close to your code. The setup friction is the lowest I've ever seen for IaC automation (if you're on GitHub managing AWS infrastructure, the most complicated thing you'll have to do is copy and paste once). It also has a generous *free tier* that doesn't require a credit card for sign up. Sign up today! https://lnkd.in/eDQQdbEb

Terragrunt Scale is production-grade infrastructure automation, built by the creators of Terragrunt itself: 🔹 Pipelines — Secure GitOps CI/CD that runs in your own GitHub/GitLab. Plans run on PR open, applies run on merge — nothing touches a third-party server. 🔹 Drift Detection — Scheduled scans that catch configuration drift before it becomes an outage, with automatic PRs to reconcile it. 🔹 Patcher — Automated PRs to keep your modules and providers current, without the manual grind. You can try it out for free. The Terragrunt Scale Free Tier includes: ✅ Unlimited runs and resources ✅ Up to 25 infrastructure units ✅ No credit card required ✅ Live in under 10 minutes If you're running Terragrunt and doing any of this manually, it's worth the 10 minutes to set up. 👉 https://lnkd.in/g5VvdHXU #DevOps #IaC #Terragrunt #GitOps #Terraform #PlatformEngineering

Ransomware isn’t just a cybersecurity issue anymore. It’s a liquidity event — and CFOs are increasingly the first ones living with the financial fallout. When operations freeze, receivables stall, payables stack, and the clock on liquidity starts ticking. That pattern showed up in the Change Healthcare breach, the CDK attack, and even the recent Asahi outage. Different incidents, same outcome: when systems lock up, cash flow does too. That’s why I wrote this piece: The CFO’s Ransomware Reality Check. I break down the five financial truths every CFO should be modeling right now: • Ransomware is a liquidity event. Downtime — not ransom — drives the real exposure. • Finance needs a seat in incident governance. Decision speed is cost containment. • Resilience is measurable. Your ransomware KPIs should align directly with liquidity KPIs. • Every organization needs a financial framework for ransomware. Reserves, insurance floors, recovery targets, and a clear ransom stance. • The long tail is financial. Churn, slower sales cycles, and higher CAC often dwarf technical recovery costs. Cyber resilience has become a financial discipline. CFOs now shape the guardrails that determine whether ransomware becomes a short-term disruption or a long-term drag on earnings and credibility. If you’re a finance leader recalibrating risk, liquidity, or operational resilience heading into 2026, this is for you.
