Les mer om Sector her: https://lnkd.in/eN5frkig

Hur små dimensioner märker ni i er produktion?

Grow - We Grow People har snart fem års jubilæum.

Could there be another two seconds a lap in your GEN4 car? That's what some recent simulation work by my colleagues at HORIBA MIRA suggests could be possible. Not by changing the battery or increasing motor output, but through smarter VCU calibration, energy deployment and management of the available battery power envelope. Using our Mobius technology, the team has modelled theoretical lap-time gains of up to around two seconds compared with a more conservative power-limit strategy. If you're working on GEN4 battery strategy or energy deployment, I'd be interested to hear what you make of our approach. There’s more about Mobius in the Sept edition of RACE TECH in the link below. And let me know if you'd like to take a closer look. https://bit.ly/MobiusMIRA

FABTECH 2026 is right around the corner! I’ll be at Airgas Booth S29036 discussing where the fabrication market is headed and talking about our Unlocking the Hidden Cost of Welding™ program (UHCW). While most cost-cutting focuses on gas or wire prices (which only account for 1–2% of total expenses), our UHCW framework uses a data-driven approach to identify and eliminate hidden operational waste between inputs and outputs. The result? Increasing throughput by 20%–40% without adding headcount or buying new equipment. I’d love to connect in person while in Vegas. Can't make it this year? Feel free to connect and send me a message. I'll be glad to share how the UHCW program can help benchmark your facility.

Have you calculated the operator factor on your shop floor? Efficiency surveys across more than 3,000 manufacturing facilities in North America have revealed an average operator in factor in welding operations of less than 15%. Operator factor is simply arc time divided by total available time. In practical terms, that means the average welder may spend only about 9 minutes of every hour actually welding. When we partner with manufacturers facing profitability or capacity challenges through our UHCW program at Airgas, the objective is not to make welders work harder. It is to identify and eliminate the operational waste that prevents them from welding—things like excessive spatter as shown in this picture, overwelding, unnecessary handling of cylinders, rework and extended troubleshooting time. Learn how to calculate operator factor and three practical ways manufacturers can meaningfully improve it—creating additional capacity, improving productivity and ultimately lowering the cost of welding using our Unlocking the Hidden Cost of Welding™ (UHCW) program: https://bit.ly/4rwHOiI

Europe's transition to a circular plastics economy is losing momentum... Not exactly the headline I would hope to share when talking about the future of circular plastics. Unfortunately, that's the reality reflected in Plastics Europe’s biennial report. In the latest edition of S&P Global Recycled Polymers, I had the opportunity to put these findings into context. What stands out is the sharp slowdown in Europe's circular plastics production. Annual growth dropped from 13.6% in 2022 to just 1.2% in 2024. At the same time, global growth accelerated from 5.0% to 7.7%. From my perspective, several factors are contributing to this trend: 1️⃣ Growing volatility in the plastics market, driven by geopolitical disruptions and uncertainty across the value chain. 2️⃣ The lack of a fully connected ecosystem. Recycling involves materials that traditional waste collectors may not have handled before. Closer collaboration is essential to scale circular solutions. 3️⃣ Europe's ongoing competitiveness challenge. Companies are willing to invest, innovate, and take risks. However, competitive energy and carbon pricing remain critical prerequisites for turning those ambitions into action. The goal now is to focus on the levers we can influence. Europe needs a policy framework that strengthens industrial competitiveness while creating stronger market demand for recycled plastics. #Evonik #Competitiveness #Plastics #Circularity

Florida hit $15.00 on September 30. I believe we can all agree that the grill is usually the toughest spot to staff. It takes a while to train a good grill cook, and once you find one, you work hard to keep them. That’s why more operators have been asking me about automation this year. Most of you have concerns, as you should, and it usually goes something like this. “If this thing goes down in the middle of a rush, I’m done.” “I need it to hold up in my kitchen, day in and day out.” “I need to know my crew is safe working next to it.” “When something goes wrong, I need someone who picks up the phone.” I’d ask the same questions about anything I put on my line. Was hat uns geprägt?

Having lived in China for the past 21 years, I have witnessed its phenomenal economic growth firsthand. What began as a period of remarkable entrepreneurial freedom and private-sector expansion has increasingly evolved into the rise of technological champions on a global scale, supported by a much more targeted industrial policy and substantial state support. This transformation has far-reaching consequences—not only for China and how the benefits of its growing productivity are distributed, but also for industries and economies throughout the rest of the world.
