One of the biggest challenges I hear from my marine and electrification customers is: “We’re running out of space in the vessel, but we still need more capacity.” That’s exactly where the iC7-Marine drives and iC7-Hybrid power converters have been making a real difference in recent projects I’ve worked on. With liquid-cooled, compact modules, they free up as much as 40% space without compromising power or reliability. For vessels shifting towards electrification and hybrid propulsion, every centimetre matters below deck. Smart engineering isn’t just about performance anymore. It’s about footprint, cooling, integration, and long-term efficiency. I’m excited to see how more shipyards and owners will adopt this approach. What challenges are you facing in your projects? If you’re exploring hybrid or electric propulsion, happy to share what we’ve seen work in real applications.

Simulation tools is a game changer. With iC7-Marine and iC7-Hybrid, you can model drive behaviour, loads, and faults before installation. Instead of building first and correcting later, we can now design, test, and optimise virtually, and walk into commissioning with confidence. #sondermaschinenbau #automatisierungstechnik #projektplanung #anlagenbau #fotocredit Sylviane Brauer

Humbled and grateful to share a special milestone from my journey. Being part of Forbes India presents D Globalist. 2025 was an honor in itself, a moment that made me reflect on how far this path has brought me. When I began working in this space, my intention was simple: to solve meaningful problems for real industries with clarity, integrity, and purpose. Like many founders, I’ve seen the long nights, the tough choices, the experiments that failed before they taught us what would eventually work. And through every phase, I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by people who believed in the vision even before it took shape. It’s with immense gratitude that I share that DaVinci Smart Manufacturing has been recognized as one of the “Select 200 Companies with Global Business Potential” at DGEMS 2025. This recognition is not a personal achievement, it belongs to our incredible team, our customers who trusted us with their most complex challenges, and our partners who walked alongside us even when the path ahead wasn’t clear. Your belief is what turned a simple idea into a company with global aspiration and real-world impact. My sincere thanks to Forbes India for this honor, and to every individual who has contributed to DaVinci’s story so far. As we step into our next chapter, our focus is on scale, scaling our impact, our technology, and our responsibility to the industries we serve. There is much more to build, and we’re only getting started. #DGEMS #Select200 #eXtrepreneurs #DaVinciSM

Linje stannar. Recept byts. Material plockas. I CAN LOSE THOUSANDS IN A DAY. And still hesitate over a $1 discount. I’ve done both. Lost money in the stock market without blinking. Then stood in a supermarket, staring at cereal, waiting for it to go on sale. I once bought a $2,000 suit. I was so afraid of spilling coffee on it that I barely wore it. At home, I’m in UNIQLO. Head to toe. Every day. I know this makes no sense. But spending money rarely does. There’s this idea— buy experiences, not things. Sounds right. I agree with it. But experiences feel… unstable. Take travel. Whether you enjoy it or not depends on things you can’t control— like whether you end up arguing with your wife, or how much you dread going back to your boss afterward. Compared to that, a growth stock almost feels predictable. I bought a new car once. Made a promise to keep it spotless. Never washed it. Not even once. Every time I see people carefully washing their cars, only for the rain to undo it a few hours later, I can’t help wondering if it’s some kind of training— to get used to effort not paying off. I think we adapt faster than we admit. Maybe that’s the problem. Or maybe that’s just how we survive. So now I try to spend on things I’ll actually touch every day. Not because it’s rational. Because I know I’m not. And even then, I still stand in the cereal aisle, doing the math over a dollar. #ConsumerBehavior #BehavioralEconomics #HumanNature #DecisionMaking

THE LONELY GOLDFISH On a business trip to Tokyo, I looked around the subway car. Every single person was hunched over a screen. Including me. I felt a vague sadness about this. Then I put my earphones in. My sister is twelve years younger than me. When she was a kid, she would corner my friends — total strangers to her — and lecture them about Pokémon. For thirty minutes. Whether they wanted it or not. I found it exhausting. Somewhere between childhood and "becoming a professional," we stopped doing that. I'm not sure that's entirely a bad thing. Still. I once watched a video of an experiment. A shy man walks up to a woman at a café. He's wearing an earpiece. He thinks he's being coached by a communication expert. The expert is a five-year-old girl. She tells him what to say. He sits down and says: "Can I tell you a story? Once upon a time, there was a goldfish. He was all alone. The end." The woman didn't call security. She smiled and said, "That was really unusual." I think about that goldfish more than I should. Though honestly, if someone sat next to me on the subway and opened with a goldfish story, I would probably pretend to be asleep. I don't know what I'm trying to say here. Maybe that loneliness is something we're choosing, at least partly. Or maybe we're just tired. Or maybe both, and there's no clean answer, and I should stop writing before I sound like I have one. #HumanConnection #Leadership #Japan #Tokyo

Madrid is already next week - WindEurope Annual is one I always look forward to 😊 . We came back from ACP OM&S in Orlando with a sense that the US market is genuinely ready for "new" solutions. Not the usual "interesting, send me a brochure." Operators who've been doing crane-dependent maintenance for years, looking at what on-site CNC machining actually costs and delivers - and deciding they want to know more. Madrid is different. European operators generally know us, or know of us. The conversation here is often further along. Less about explaining what we do, more about where it fits in a specific maintenance program. That's a conversation I find genuinely energising. The wind fleet across Europe is aging. Spare parts for older models are harder to source. The old playbook - crane, nacelle removal, factory repair or replacement - is increasingly expensive and sometimes not viable at all. We repair in place: yaw ring teeth, yaw ring sliding surfaces, rotor locks, shafts, bolts & threads and much more. All Up-tower, no cranes, no hot work. If you'll be at WindEurope Annual April 21-23, let's meet and have a proper conversation. I'm looking forward to it.

A wind turbine can be offline for weeks or even months because a few yaw ring teeth are damaged. Not because the turbine is beyond repair. Simply because the replacing the entire component has traditionally been the default solution - especially in hot, dry regions where welding is highly risky. Setting aside the risks and complexity involved in disassembling major turbine components, the replacement path itself comes with a hefty price tag and timeline most operators know too well: → Crane costs alone: $90-$150K → Lost production at $2-$4K/day for a 3-4 MW turbine → Typical downtime: 8 to 12 weeks And that's assuming crane access is straightforward. For nearly 10 years, we've been helping our customers take a different approach. Instead of replacing the entire yaw ring, we machine out the damaged teeth and install replacement segments directly inside the nacelle. These segments are the result of extensive engineering and are designed to match or exceed the design life of the original teeth. ✓ No crane mobilisation ✓ No nacelle removal ✓ No hot work The result is typically a repair completed in around 5-7 days rather than months of downtime associated with major component replacement. If your fleet has yaw ring tooth damage and the default answer has been "replace it", it may be worth reconsidering the options next time. Happy to walk through the numbers. The narrative around AI-driven workforce transformation often centers on cognitive labor: desk jobs like software engineers, accountants, lawyers. But in the physical world, we will also experience workforce transformation, with humans and machines working as partners in the manufacturing space. In manufacturing, we have a real need for intelligent machines and automation - from structural constraints in labor capacity, to the geopolitical consequences of offshoring, to the simple fact that many manufacturing jobs are physically dangerous and mentally exhausting. Brad Porter and the Cobot team are approaching robotics from the first principles question of what kind of relationship we should have with intelligent machines. To effectively bring in the automation we need to tackle these problems, we need machines that are safe, reliable, trustworthy coworkers. cc General Catalyst Paul Kwan Will McCreadie

Our latest ‘Breaking Ground – A CheckProof Podcast’ episode dropped last Friday, and I had the chance to listen over the weekend. Our guest, Katie Woodhall from Beaver Excavating Company, was a truly inspiring guest and an exemplary Health & Safety Leader. For anyone working with Health & Safety on sites or operations where staff safety is a top priority (let’s face it – staff safety should always be top priority), there are some truly valuable takeaways here. There were many heartfelt moments during the episode - for example, Katie shared a tragic accident from years ago at Beaver Excavating Company that has completely shaped how the company approaches safety today. It was moving to hear how this incident is commemorated annually and how safety sessions start with a reminder of this. I also appreciated Katie’s principle of taking 5 minutes to pause and seek to understand. Even in a software and tech company like ours, the lesson resonates: when colleagues feel listened to and safe to speak up, creativity, problem-solving and innovation all grow. 🎧 I encourage you to tune in and listen or watch the full episode! I’m excited to share a new enhancement that our product team has developed in close collaboration with our clients - one that makes it incredibly easier for Health & Safety and Maintenance professionals to conduct effective risk assessments, all from one digital, consolidated platform. Many teams still rely on annual, paper-based risk assessments. But as I often say, our platform allows everything - from large-scale project risk assessments to quick “Take 5” / "Take One" - to be managed seamlessly in one place. Because while some risk assessments happen once a year and others every day, they all need to be easy to carry out, consistent, and actionable. This enhancement gives teams exactly that - a smarter, mobile-first way to identify, assess, and act on risks in real time. Developed in close collaboration with our customers, it’s another step toward making safety management simpler, connected, and truly part of daily operations. Today we reported our first-quarter results, reflecting continued progress in strengthening Cemex. We delivered record EBITDA, driven by operating efficiencies, disciplined pricing, and the ongoing impact of Project Cutting Edge. Margin expansion and a meaningful improvement in free cash flow point to a business that is becoming leaner and more resilient. Execution across our regions remains strong. Mexico delivered solid growth supported by volume recovery and Project Cutting Edge savings. EMEA and our South, Central America and the Caribbean region both contributed double-digit EBITDA growth. The United States showed resilience despite adverse weather, with continued progress in ready-mix and aggregates. Project Cutting Edge continues to play a central role. It is driving structural improvements in how we operate, simplifying the organization, and reinforcing a more efficient and performance-driven culture. We are also advancing our portfolio, taking steps to exit lower-return assets while strengthening our position in more attractive markets, including our recent acquisition of Omega, a leading mortars and stucco company in the western United States. At the same time, we remain focused on increasing shareholder return, with share buybacks during the quarter and a meaningful increase in our dividend approved at our annual shareholders’ meeting in March. While the global environment remains uncertain, our direction is clear. We are building a more efficient, more focused, and more resilient Cemex, with a stronger earnings profile and clear momentum.

🤝 UX ist kein Add-on. Was mich dabei antreibt? #UX #Usability #PositiveLeadership #EmbeddedSystems #UserCenteredDesign #Teamwork #Innovation
