Delivering meaningful care is fundamentally about bridging gaps: closing the loop between moments of need and the support that relieves them, ensuring continuity of care throughout. In that spirit, we’re excited to share our four-way collaboration with Merck Healthcare, NVIDIA Healthcare and Microsoft for Healthcare. Our shared goal is to redefine what support can mean for patients on therapy, at a time when technology enables far greater understanding, personalization and scale. Our work will be as much about improving what we offer today as it is about creating new use cases and modes of support. It was a pleasure to announce and showcase the collaboration at GTC together with Emre Ozcan, PhD Alexander Mandix Hansen Cedric Steenbeke Faisal Jarkass Jantje Rees Nelly Tian Onwards we go. Ambient scribe technology is being adopted quickly across healthcare systems, and for good reason. It takes note-taking and paperwork off the doctor during the consultation, so they can keep their attention on the patient in front of them rather than on a screen. More eye contact, less admin, more patients seen. It is a genuine improvement to the visit, and I am glad it is happening. But it also does not touch the part of the problem that matters most. The doctor visit lasts a few minutes. The rest of the year, the roughly 364 days the patient is not sitting in that room, is where the disease is managed, and an in-visit tool was never built to reach it. The reason this is worth saying out loud is that it is easy to adopt the scribe, feel the improvement, and assume the gap is now covered. Closing that gap means taking the signal patients generate at home and getting it into the same place the scribe already feeds the clinical workflow. The doctor walks into the visit already seeing what happened in the weeks before it. That is where the ambient scribe becomes more than a time-saver. It becomes the shared layer that carries patient signal into the EHR without a custom build at every hospital and the other 364 days finally reach the people making the decisions. Now that the scribe is being adopted so widely, who is already treating it this way, rather than just as a better way to document the visit?

Merci. #Pasteurdon Institut Pasteur The Good Company One Heart @Premium

#Pasteurdon Institut Pasteur

In regulated industries, the question isn’t “can AI do this?”, but it's more “can you prove it’s safe to use here?” As David Foster from eClinical Solutions put it in our recent Validated AI for Pharma Summit: “Increasingly, clients want these tools, but they want proof. They want to understand how they’re going to fold that into their governed, regulated environment.” I believe that the teams that win won’t be the ones with the flashiest AI demos. They will need to show compliance, governance, and fit from day one into the company ecosystem and workflows. This is also what we want to do with Mediforce, our open-source platform for agentic workflows in regulated pharma. 🎥 To learn more from the industry experts, watch the full 20-minute session with David and all the other summit talks: https://lnkd.in/dqb5VgKA #AIGovernance #Pharma #ClinicalTrials #DataScience #Compliance

We asked nearly 400 people in pharma where they actually are with validated AI. Only 15% of respondents have it running in GxP. That single number sums up the Validated AI for Pharma Summit better than any recap could. Over 600 registrations, nearly 400 attendees from 38 countries, and people stayed for an average of nearly 3 hours. Nobody watches 3 hours of a virtual conference unless they're looking for something they haven't found elsewhere. Four things I took away: 1️⃣ The real question isn't "is the AI validated?", it's "what exactly are we validating?" The liveliest debate of the day: do you validate the model, or the code it produces? One team shared that in early tests, AI-driven code review surfaced several times more issues than human review of the same human-written code. That reframes the whole conversation. 2️⃣ Trustworthy AI starts with trustworthy data. Chris Decker (CDISC) opened with it, and the audience confirmed it, data quality and standards came back as the #1 blocker to calling a setup validated. 3️⃣ Sovereignty is not compliance. Hosting a model in Europe, or on your own hardware, doesn't hand you GxP. It moves the assurance work in-house. 4️⃣ The hardest problem is organisational, not technical. A third of respondents said nobody clearly owns AI adoption at their company. Which explains why so many pilots never become production. Thank you to every speaker: CDISC, Novartis, Eli Lilly and Company, PHUSE, Domino Data Lab, eClinical Solutions, ERA Sciences, HealthtechPartners 42, Pharma Law Solutions and to everyone who turned the chat into the best session of the day. We'll be back, and bigger. If validated AI is on your 2027 roadmap, follow along, the next one is already taking shape. 👉 Check for recordings: https://lnkd.in/dA4Qy5wF #PharmaAI #GxP #ValidatedAI #ClinicalDataScience

Brilliant to see Alyson Meister and the team at IMD leading the way in making wellbeing and resilience a core part of leadership development. The Financial Times article, how business schools teach leaders to beat burnout, highlights an important shift in how we think about leadership and performance. Rather than simply expecting leaders to cope with ever-increasing pressure, the focus is moving towards understanding stress, managing energy and building habits that support sustainable high performance. What particularly stands out is how IMD is putting this into practice, helping executives understand their own physiological responses to stress and recovery, and using those insights to make better decisions about how they work and live. This is exactly the kind of thinking we need more of. High performance shouldn't come at the expense of health and wellbeing. Alyson is doing a fantastic job of bringing this conversation into the mainstream and helping organisations recognise that wellbeing isn't a nice-to-have or an add-on. It's fundamental to effective leadership and long-term performance. At Firstbeat Technologies, we're proud to see physiological data helping bring greater understanding to the relationship between stress, recovery and performance. A great example of science, education and technology coming together to make a real difference. MDR/IVDR Are Just the Tip of Your Regulatory Iceberg; Look Beyond Them A cornerstone of successful medical device development is identifying all regulatory requirements. The MDR (Regulation (EU) 2017/745) and IVDR (Regulation (EU) 2017/746) provide a vast catalog of device requirements and company procedures. Standards then offer additional details for compliance. However, many see this as the entire iceberg and assume it’s enough for full compliance. The reality is different. Medical devices and manufacturers often need to comply with multiple regulations. It’s crucial to identify all applicable regulations beyond the obvious ones. Here are 7 regulations and directives many miss but are often essential: EU AI Act (Proposal COM/2021/206) → Crucial for any medical device incorporating AI. → Adds a certification framework beyond MDR/IVDR. → Overlapping requirements mean a thorough gap analysis is essential. European Health Data Space Regulation (Proposal COM/2022/197) → Central to unlocking cross-border health data sharing in the EU. → A framework for primary and secondary use of electronic health data. → Compliance requires alignment with GDPR and national health laws. Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) → Applies to devices with wireless communication (e.g., Bluetooth). → EMC testing under MDR isn’t enough for compliance. → Requires additional IFU content, such as wireless frequency specifications. General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) → Applies to all devices interacting with personal data. → Covers even non-sensitive data, beyond health-related information. → Expected since its enforcement began in 2018. Battery Regulation (Proposal COM/2020/798) → Relevant for devices with rechargeable or disposable batteries. → Mandates user access to batteries for removal or replacement. → Requires compliance with labeling and recycling standards. RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU) and REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) → Limit hazardous substances in device materials. → Biocompatibility doesn’t guarantee compliance with these regulations. → Crucial during material selection for physical devices. WEEE (Directive 2012/19/EU) → Governs proper decommissioning and disposal of electrical devices. → Includes exemptions for implantable and potentially infectious devices. → Often Requires agreements with waste management organizations. By identifying them early, the iceberg may remain large, but at least you’ll have transparency and control. P.S. What other regulations or directives would you add to this list? ⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡ MedTech regulatory challenges can be complex, but smart strategies, cutting-edge tools, and expert insights can make all the difference. None of the greatest forthcoming advancements in science and medicine will arrive in the form of a $10 generic. We need to prepare now for a world with GLP-1-like breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s, Cancer, and other major diseases that shrink families. Employers are the financial backbone of our uniquely American private healthcare system, and they are drowning in inflationary costs that jeopardize what they can afford to fund in health benefits. This affects all Americans in a world where everything new costs more. Take GLP-1s as proof and a foreshadowing: A generational breakthrough to help address an epidemic with unprecedented consumer demand. The narrative that GLP-1s are too expensive is false. It isn’t what GLP-1s cost, it’s what they cost employers. This matters for patients, where the scalable path to affordability is to combine employer and consumer dollars. Employers pay artificially inflated list prices in exchange for rebates on a mystery number, which ties up dozens of billions in working capital. This is why the legacy system sees utilization as a problem, and it has only ever had one idea on how to deal with this problem: Friction. The legacy system is now fundamentally misaligned: - 20th century funding models aren’t compatible with the pace or progress of 21st century science - Friction to discourage utilization works directly against the aligned incentives of patients and their care teams HR Tech Outlook named Crux its Specialty Employee Benefits Platform of the Year. In this interview, I lay out a better model for GLP-1s and other high-value brand and specialty medications. Because here is the real problem: None of the greatest breakthroughs in science and medicine will arrive in the form of a $10 generic. And historic breakthroughs in the treatment of Alzheimer’s, Cancer, and other major diseases are coming sooner than you think. We have proof that a better model works, and it is accessible right now. I'm cold and it's raining so it must be CONFERENCE SEASON! Next up - speaking at the 14th IMPACCT Real-World Evidence Summit in Boston on October 28, alongside the formidable Carmine Colavecchia, PharmD, PhD of argenx! We'll discuss recent developments in Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) - specifically where traditional RWE sources fall flat, and how patient-generated evidence can fill the gap. Our premise for the conversation: if it doesn't matter to the patient, what are we measuring? At Folia, we collaborate with our participant partners to generate fit-for-purpose, home-reported evidence that helps our partners characterize burden and unmet need in their focus conditions, building the differentiation story for their therapies. After a very meaningful chapter at Fresenius Kabi, I have decided to leave the company and pursue a change in my professional life. This has been a deeply personal decision, made with enormous respect for the business, its people and everything we have achieved together. As I look back on this chapter and as someone who loves hiking, one image stays with me: no one reaches the summit alone. It is the rope team that matters. I have been fortunate to be part of an extraordinary team at Fresenius Kabi, and I leave with deep gratitude for every step we took together. I leave with a full heart and enormous appreciation for everyone who has been part of my journey at Fresenius Kabi. My thanks to Michael Sen and Wolfgang Kirsch for their trust and support over the many years. I am pleased to hand over to Marc-Alexander Mahl, who knows our business and has been an important member of our leadership team. I am confident that he will provide strong continuity for the next chapter. With gratitude.

Last minute change before submission is how tech docs play Jenga 🧱😬 Everything looks stable, then one “tiny” update hits the technical documentation and the tower wobbles. It is not the change itself that hurts. It is the ripple effect: versions drift, references break, and reviewers find inconsistencies in minutes. The fastest way to turn a clean submission into a delay is touching the file without a controlled plan. Practical ways to stop the tower from collapsing: ↳ Set a document freeze date and a submission baseline, with version numbers for every deliverable in scope. ↳ Use a one page change impact checklist before approving any last minute update: risk management, verification reports, software versioning, labeling, clinical evaluation conclusions, and manufacturing instructions. ↳ Create a “no-touch window” for the final packaging, only corrections allowed, no new content unless safety critical. ↳ If a change is unavoidable, make it auditable: change request, rationale, approvals, and a clean list of updated documents. ↳ Re-export the submission package from the baseline, do not patch files manually in the folder. ↳ Do a final consistency sweep across the high-visibility docs: device description, IFU, labels, and summaries, looking for mismatched numbers, names, and versions. ↳ Keep a short “what changed since baseline” note ready, so the first reviewer does not have to guess. ⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡⬡ MedTech regulatory challenges can be complex, but smart strategies, cutting-edge tools, and expert insights can make all the difference. Most kit manufacturers qualify a second Microplate Supplier only after the first one lets them down. I understand why. In an ELISA kit, the plate is a validated raw material. Changing it means revalidating every kit that uses it, so most teams stay with one supplier for years. The problem shows up when that supplier has a bad month. A lot ships late. A code gets discontinued. A formulation changes without anyone asking. At that point you are qualifying an alternative under pressure, with a release date moving and no time to do it properly. The kit manufacturers we talk to are starting this work earlier. They pick a second source while nothing is urgent, test it on their own timeline, and keep it ready. That's the conversation I'd like to have: not "switch today", but "be ready if you need to".

As a practicing physician, I’ve experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to diagnose respiratory illnesses based on symptoms alone. Many infections can present in similar ways, making it difficult to know what's driving a patient's illness. Respiratory testing helps fill those gaps by providing information and clarity clinicians need to make informed treatment decisions. That's especially important during respiratory season when multiple pathogens are circulating widely in our communities.

In healthtech - the wrong regulatory consultant can cost you a year and a big part of your runway. If your product is Class IIa or higher under the EU MDR, most teams will need outside help. But on a sales call, every consultant sounds the same. So, you should always remember to ask the right questions before you sign. Here’s the first one: "Have you worked on products like mine?" Ask for specific, similar cases. They tell you far more than years of experience. If this is relevant for you, or someone you know, questions 2 to 5 can be found in my blog. When I dug into how people were trying CareAcademy Training, I saw a real opportunity. Plenty of operators were interested enough to start a trial, but too many never got far enough to see what the product can actually do. So we rebuilt the trial experience to get people into the product faster. What changed: • Sign-up went from 6 screens to 3 • The page now makes it clear what you're trying before you start • Pick your state, and your account opens with that state's compliance curriculum already assigned by role, for home care or senior living • A cleaner design that makes the next step obvious at every stage Early results since launch: • 90% more people completing sign-up and landing in the product. Training shapes compliance, retention and the care residents and clients receive. Operators deserve to judge it with their own eyes. Lead training for a home-based care or senior living organization? Take it for a spin. Know someone who leads training in senior care? Share this with them. It’s free for 14 days, and the link is in the comments. Huge appreciation to Dacia R., Ferris Lucas, Brent Leekley and Nicolae Herrera.

Paikka, johon me tulemme töihin, on meille työpaikka.
