Ask ten people what causes an autoimmune flare. You will get ten different answers and most of them will be partly right. A flare behaves like a network. Poor sleep feeds fatigue, fatigue erodes adherence, missed doses fuel inflammation, and inflammation disrupts sleep. Mood sits in the loop too. About 1 in 3 people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) have anxiety symptoms, and in one cohort, anxiety in remission roughly doubled the risk of a later flare. Then add a delayed refill, a side effect, and the uncertainty of whether a symptom is worth a call to the doctor. The first weeks on a new therapy are the most fragile. The routine is not built yet and the benefit has not kicked in. This is where patient companions create value. They can be the one place where sleep, mood, doses, and refills meet between visits. Agentic AI can turn that view into action: noticing when sleep and mood drift together, checking in before a missed dose becomes a missed week, flagging a late refill, and bringing in a nurse when a symptom needs one. The value is already measurable. A 2025 Lancet Digital Health review linked digital tools to better adherence and fewer hospital visits, and patient programmes have more than doubled the odds of adherence and persistence. For pharma, the value compounds: stronger adherence and persistence, clinicians who see a trend line at the visit, and a way to see the whole system it has been asked to move for years.

Delivering meaningful care is fundamentally about bridging gaps: closing the loop between moments of need and the support that relieves them, ensuring continuity of care throughout. In that spirit, we’re excited to share our four-way collaboration with Merck Healthcare, NVIDIA Healthcare and Microsoft for Healthcare. Our shared goal is to redefine what support can mean for patients on therapy, at a time when technology enables far greater understanding, personalization and scale. Our work will be as much about improving what we offer today as it is about creating new use cases and modes of support. It was a pleasure to announce and showcase the collaboration at GTC together with Emre Ozcan, PhD Alexander Mandix Hansen Cedric Steenbeke Faisal Jarkass Jantje Rees Nelly Tian Onwards we go. We are at NVIDIA GTC (GPU Technology Conference) in Berlin, and today Dawn Health, NVIDIA Healthcare, Microsoft for Healthcare, and Merck Healthcare proudly announce a collaboration to redefine the future of Patient Support Programs (PSPs). The four-way collaboration, the first-of-its-kind within patient support services, is building a novel agentic care experience available to people living with chronic disease, one that is personalized to each patients individual disease state, with access to a nurse or healthcare provider whenever it is needed. Merck Healthcare brings the patient insights, clinical, and pharmaceutical expertise, NVIDIA the technologies and AI reasoning models, and Microsoft the Azure Cloud and AI services. Dawn Health leads product development, regulatory work, and the human-centred design of the patient-facing application on the Dawn Platform. Kimberly Powell, Vice President and General Manager, Healthcare at NVIDIA, will introduce this vision on today’s session, Turning AI Into the Infrastructure Advancing Human Health, happening at NVIDIA GTC, Berlin, at 2:30pm CEST. If you are at NVIDA GTC this week, or evaluating the future of your own patient support programs, I would love to have a chat. Link to the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/dwVGkk_p

Ambient scribe technology is being adopted quickly across healthcare systems, and for good reason. It takes note-taking and paperwork off the doctor during the consultation, so they can keep their attention on the patient in front of them rather than on a screen. More eye contact, less admin, more patients seen. It is a genuine improvement to the visit, and I am glad it is happening. But it also does not touch the part of the problem that matters most. The doctor visit lasts a few minutes. The rest of the year, the roughly 364 days the patient is not sitting in that room, is where the disease is managed, and an in-visit tool was never built to reach it. The reason this is worth saying out loud is that it is easy to adopt the scribe, feel the improvement, and assume the gap is now covered. Closing that gap means taking the signal patients generate at home and getting it into the same place the scribe already feeds the clinical workflow. The doctor walks into the visit already seeing what happened in the weeks before it. That is where the ambient scribe becomes more than a time-saver. It becomes the shared layer that carries patient signal into the EHR without a custom build at every hospital and the other 364 days finally reach the people making the decisions. Now that the scribe is being adopted so widely, who is already treating it this way, rather than just as a better way to document the visit?
