The holidays are officially on the horizon, and we’re feeling the spirit already. One highlight this season was collaborating with the amazing team at Day One Agency on a nostalgic, heart-warming piece for L.L.Bean. It’s always a pleasure working with partners who value authentic storytelling as much as we do. Matthew Ballinger Alex Slavin Jiffy Iuen Eric Peterson Anelka Shulkitas Lloyd W. For creative teams: the search for content struggle is real, and it’s a bug, not a feature. Today’s production teams don’t have hours to hunt for the perfect shot. That work shouldn’t sit on your plate anymore. That’s why Content Genie matters. 💜 Upload a brief, get curated, licensable shots in under an hour, and stay focused on storytelling instead of searching. AI should support your intuition (not replace it) and give you the space to shape a stronger narrative. Genie is the first step in that direction. ✨ Explore it here: https://lnkd.in/grE8afTg #ContentGenie #CreativeWorkflow

👇 Thibault.

Most teams are still managing their budget like a project: stitching together reports, working off a hunch, defending decisions after the fact. The system BlueAlpha builds changes that. It takes the signal on what's actually driving results, adds your team's own context, and turns it into a decision you can act on immediately. Not a recommendation in a deck. A change that ships. Here's a clip from a conversation I had with Riccardo Murciano on Chit Chats on how it comes together.
- Text-onlyI never actually worked with an agency more than 3 months. Not once, in 15 years on the brand side. Every role I took, full-time or consulting, followed the same pattern. I'd join, give the existing setup a few months, and if it wasn't delivering, I'd pull it in-house. Not because agencies can't do great work. I just never found one that operated the way I needed. As the person responsible for growth, I didn't need another vendor. I needed someone who understood the business behind the metrics. When acquisition costs went up, I didn't want to hear that CPMs increased or Meta changed something. I wanted to know why we were actually seeing the shift. Was creative getting tired? Was the landing page no longer converting? Had the offer lost its appeal? Were we attracting the wrong audience? Most of the time, nobody could answer that, because every function operated independently. Media buying separate from creative. Creative separate from the website. Reporting in its own corner. Everyone optimizing their piece, nobody owning the outcome. I realized the problem wasn't the people. It was the structure. So when I started Bowery Boost, I built it around what I always wished existed: A senior team that stays involved instead of handing clients off after the sale. Creative and paid media at the same table instead of working in silos. Landing pages, offers, retention, and acquisition treated as one conversation, because that's how customers actually experience them. A team that understands the business before it touches the ad account. 15 years on the brand side taught me what it's like to own revenue, defend budgets, and make decisions with imperfect information. It also taught me exactly what I wanted an agency partner to be. I built the agency I wish I had when I was on the brand side.Bowery BoostRecorded 11 Sept 2026
- Text-onlyThis is the most uncertain BFCM season most of us have planned for. Q4 planning always matters. This year it feels different. Many of us haven't navigated a BFCM season in an economy this uncertain. Consumer behavior has shifted, acquisition costs are unpredictable, and brands are going to have to be much more intentional than simply increasing budgets. This is what's on our radar across accounts this year: Traffic trends. Where's the cost-effective, highly engaged traffic showing up right now? We're looking past conversion campaigns and tracking quality traffic we can build on going into Q4. Conversion trends. Before we push more into acquisition, we're auditing landing pages, product pages, and CVR trends to find where the experience needs work. Channel performance. We're skeptical of scaling for the sake of scaling. Rising frequency is a signal worth listening to. We're leaning harder into new customer metrics and incremental attribution as BFCM approaches. Offers. Competition will be fierce. We're locking in primary offers now and keeping backups ready in case the market shifts. Product mix. Not every product deserves equal attention. Historical demand, inventory, and margin are shaping which products we push, and when, throughout Q4. Right now, the work is about walking into BFCM with fewer unknowns and staying agile enough to adjust as neededBowery BoostRecorded 11 Sept 2026

Your runway is <12 months. You don't have time to hire a VP Marketing, build a team, and then figure out what works. So Alfie Dawson and I have come up with a solution. --- Earlier this year, I headed out to New York and did the customary "search on LinkedIn for all NY-based connections and reach out for coffee". One of those invites was for Alfie. A man who - like me - had no idea how we had come to be connected in the first place. But we met for that coffee. And it turned out we saw things in freakishly similar ways. For example: > AI is making traditional marketing tactics obsolete faster than anyone can keep up. > Buyer's don't trust products, they trust people - and brands are shockingly bad at leveraging this. > Most agencies either create great content or build conversion systems - rarely both. Fast-forward 6 months and I am DELIGHTED to announce that we have partnered up with Alfie and the team Bordeaux & Burgundy to offer what we're calling our 90-Day Growth Sprint. A package that promises to help B2B tech companies stop doing more marketing and start building momentum. In just 90 days, we help you go from “We should post more on LinkedIn” to “We have a system that turns attention into opportunities.” It’s fast. It’s strategic. And it’s built for the world we’re actually marketing in - not the one that existed five years ago. Early clients have seen up to 4x ROI on podcast-attributed pipeline in under six months. One campaign generated over 81,000 views - 2,100% above target while another created 10+ enterprise relationships with FTSE 250 accounts. If you’re tired of content that looks great but doesn’t move the pipeline - this is for you. Comment "GROWTH" and we'll send you more deets.

Does your positioning command $800K deals? When I first worked with EG 7 years ago, she was a solo consultant charging $10K–$20K per project. Last month, she closed an $820,000 deal. One client. No team. All profit. When she told me, I had to double-check I heard her right. "Yeah," she smiled. "It’s the biggest deal I’ve ever closed. And the perfect client too." I reminded her of something she said years ago when we worked on her pricing: “I’m not getting out of bed for less than $50K anymore.” Now it’s apparently $800K or nothing. But here’s what really stuck with me… She’s not coasting on this. She's capitalizing. She’s now sharpening her positioning even further. Because she knows there are more $800K deals out there waiting for her. She told me: “If I can close a few of these in the next few years, with a few smaller ones in between… I could retire.” And that’s exactly what she’s planning now. Not because she’s burnt out... but because she can. Want to see the positioning strategy behind this transformation? Join me for the next Power Positioning LIVE, and I’ll walk you through: ✅ How to find your own “$800K Position” ✅ Why clients pay more when your positioning goes narrower ✅ A simple test to see if your positioning is working ✅ How to package your expertise so you’re the only option, not just another option $7 to attend. 100% signal. Pause. Choose. Act. That’s the framework Betsy Korona, Former SVP of Editorial Newsgathering at NBC News and MSNBC, shared on The Better Angle podcast when I asked her how leaders should be consuming news in today’s environment. Kathleen Rennie, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA and I have been honored to host so many industry leaders with truly inspiring backgrounds on our show. But Betsy’s perspective feels especially relevant right now. Here’s what you need to know: ➝ The sheer volume of outlets is overwhelming, and not all have the same resources or expertise, so pick and choose which ones you read for what reason. ➝ Social media messengers may be authentic, but that doesn’t equal expertise. ➝ Apply a two-source rule: find a quality source, then locate a second, independent source that corroborates your original findings. Betsy reminded us of something we don’t discuss often enough as marketers and communicators. Constant, isolated news consumption habits can make real dialogue harder to come by. Without shared spaces for discussion, we miss out on the chance to hear from people who encounter different sources and perspectives. If you're making decisions based on news, whether for your business, your clients, or your team, this episode will change how you approach information. How do we prepare students (and ourselves) for a marketing communications world that is changing faster than anyone could anticipate? Questions like this sit at the heart of The Better Angle podcast. Twice a month, Cortney Stapleton and I sit down with expert guests to explore marketing communications as it exists today and where it is headed next. Each conversation focuses on how we can equip the next generation and today’s leaders for a future with far more uncertainty. Professionals in this field need to be equal parts strategist, technologist, and storyteller. Plus, an understanding of everything from data privacy and branding to AI integration and human-centric narratives is table stakes. Many of us learned traditional marketing communications concepts in a completely different landscape. The frameworks we once relied on are shifting, forcing industry leaders to redefine the skills we once considered foundational. The Better Angle brings leaders the latest trends and must-know industry best practices one conversation at a time as guests share what is working now and what they expect will shape the future. What is the biggest shift you are seeing in how we communicate, connect, and convert as we move into 2026 and beyond? We'd would love to hear your perspective. Most investor decks start with a problem, continue with a solution, and then dive into the TAM, the TEAM and close with the promise of a big pay day that lies right around the corner -- if you just give them what they’re looking for. But not everything is about a problem and a solution. And not every customer is aware of their problems. Founders have an uncanny tendency to imagine the imaginary problems of others, but this often creates a gap between a founder’s belief that the answer lies with certain features, and how easy it will be to persuade customers to shift from a familiar and trusted solution that might not have that specific feature, but all in all addresses most of their existing pain points. Smart investors understand this, and are seeking a stronger reason to believe that your product or service has the power to sway. A strong pitch needs to frame a customer’s pain in a new light; in a way the competition hasn’t yet succeeded in doing. This might not include a classic problem/solution paradigm, but rather a unique set of circumstances that makes you the logical choice for certain customers at a certain time. This requires you to admit you’re not for everyone. Less is more. Less is a more defined audience. Not only those who share a common pain, but those who speak a common language and share common values. When you acknowledge this, it goes a long way to answering the Why You question. You're smart enough to see things differently. You're sober enough to understand the fickle nature of your customers. And that brings us to the why now, the secret weapon of the challenger brand. While new to the dance and with the disadvantage of having to play from behind against more established competitors, often with much deeper pockets, you still have ONE key advantage over them. You have the luxury to frame their pain within the prism of NOW. You can leverage your industry’s latest trends and predictions to tailor a narrative built on what everyone knows is about to happen next. Established brands are too vested in the yesterday to respond to this in time, leaving the disruptors to shape a fresh and bold narrative right under their nose. This approach will not only get smart VC’s interested, it is ultimately the playbook that turns businesses into brands and allows them to redefine and own new categories. This approach isn't for everyone. But if you're hitting walls with your pitch, or truly are open to telling a better story, it's time to ask yourself these two tough questions. #investordecks #perfectpitch #vc #raisingcapital Laxer ps: Yes, I used an em-dash on purpose. No, I didn't use AI to write this.

Have you asked ChatGPT about your brand to see what it says?? Because AI is already giving answers about your category.... and it’s either TALKING ABOUT YOU, or IGNORING YOU!! People aren’t just Googling anymore. They’re asking AI who should I use? Who actually knows this space? If you’re not in those answers (or AI is confidently making stuff up about you) that’s an AI VISIBILITY problem. This is NOT “do more content” or “SEO but shinier”. It’s about - Making sure AI actually KNOWS you exist - Fixing messy, conflicting brand info across the web - Creating the right SIGNALS so models feel confident recommending you Stop letting AI noise overwhelm you. This is a PRACTICAL, FIXABLE problem if you know where to look and what to change. We’ve been testing this hard across clients and categories at Brainlabs, and the gap between "strong search presence" and "barely exists in AI answers" is getting BIG. Read our findings based on our own testing and experimentation with clients across Retail, Finance, Education, Travel & Tech below.

What is an AI-generated image, and should it carry a watermark? The Australian Government has advised that tech platforms should watermark AI-generated imagery. It isn’t a legal requirement, and the guidance itself is vague, unclear and ultimately unhelpful. More importantly, it misunderstands how images are actually made in commercial and creative environments. So what is an “AI-generated image”? The truth is, there’s no single, neat category. What we call “AI imagery” is part of a long continuum of tools and techniques that have evolved over decades. In advertising and content production, almost nothing is purely “real”. We build sets, dress locations, retouch images, adjust lighting, and manipulate talent and environments to create an intended effect. Artificiality is embedded in the craft. This raises a crucial question: if images have always been constructed, at what point does an image become “AI-generated” in a way that warrants a watermark? Consider a few scenarios: - If an image is retouched using AI-powered tools inside Adobe, is that an AI image? - If we use AI to upscale a low-resolution file, should that be watermarked? - If an actor’s face is cloned with permission to place them in a new environment, is that suddenly AI - despite the fact that the same effect can be achieved through 3D or traditional post-production? - If a person uses an AI filter on a Microsoft Teams or Google Meet call to appear more polished, should that be watermarked too? These examples aren’t the intended targets of the government’s guidance, yet the lack of clarity captures them all. The result is unnecessary doubt and confusion, and no real increase in consumer protection. The core issue isn’t watermarking. It’s likeness protection. If the aim is to reduce misleading content, deepfakes, scams, or political manipulation, the solution doesn’t sit with vague watermarking guidelines. It sits with enforceable protections around identity, IP and copyright. We already have the foundations, they simply need to be strengthened, modernised and enforced. A more effective and practical approach would include: 1. Mandating that platforms cannot generate or replicate a person’s likeness without explicit permission (as companies like HeyGen already require for video cloning). 2. Strengthening IP and copyright laws so individuals can take meaningful action when their likeness is used without consent. 3. Establishing an independent ombudsman focused on AI misuse and likeness protection. Watermarking every piece of “AI imagery” isn’t realistic, meaningful or technically defined. Clear, enforceable rules around the use of identity and likeness would actually address the harm the policy aims to prevent, without stifling legitimate creative and commercial work. If the government wants to protect Australians, focusing on permission and misuse would achieve far more than a watermark ever could. BRX
