Most conversations about cloud and AI infrastructure in Europe start with risk - risk to core infrastructure, critical data and the services built on them. The more interesting question, however, is what happens when you look at tech and AI sovereignty as an opportunity. The organisations I speak with that are moving well on this are not just managing exposure. They are building something their customers and partners can see and trust. In regulated industries especially, that is starting to matter in procurement conversations. On 19 August, Futurice and UpCloud are hosting a breakfast in central Stockholm for senior leaders thinking about this strategically. Small group, cross-functional, real conversation. Participation is by waitlist. If this is the kind of question your organisation is navigating, the link is below. https://lnkd.in/dTXQT3QV

Klient stoi przy kasie i chce wykorzystać rabat. Aplikacja nie działa. Ktoś inny próbuje otworzyć zakupiony wcześniej bilet. Bez skutku. Dla użytkownika to nie „incydent techniczny”. To moment, w którym marka zawodzi. Nawet niewielkie awarie mogą oznaczać utracone przychody, frustrację klientów i wzrost ryzyka odpływu użytkowników do konkurencji.

Nobody had managed it for months. Nobody knew who was responsible. And nobody had thought about it — until it stopped working.

Every week I hear MSPs question whether they really have the right to win CSP deals against LSPs. And every week, partners using CSP Growth Engine prove that assumption wrong. This is just one example: £880k CSP opportunity identified in the first 2 hours of deployment. TWO HOURS. But the transaction is only part of the story. CSP is the door opener. It gives you the visibility and customer position to uncover what sits around the licence: → Services attach and the MCI funding availability to fuel it → Security, Azure, Copilot and upsell opportunity → Adoption and optimisation needs → Competitive technology displacement and Microsoft standardisation opportunities. → The next best customer conversation, backed by data. That’s why I get a little animated when I talk about what we’ve built. Because this isn’t about helping MSPs become licensing resellers. It’s about using CSP as the intelligence layer to grow the services business they already have the right to win. #CSP #MicrosoftGrowth #MSP #CSPGrowthEngine #MicrosoftPartner

Technology isn't the hardest part of AI transformation. Redesigning the organisation is. You probably didn't expect Leeds United to teach me something about enterprise AI. But here we are. After years of talking to business and technology leaders around the world, I realised the same rule applies on the pitch and in the boardroom. It's very hard to win trophies by just signing the biggest stars. It's equally important to build a team that knows the game plan, trusts one another, and plays with purpose. The same is true for AI. That's why, in Episode 01 of The Dean, I'm stepping onto the pitch – literally – to explore what it really takes to become an AI-centric organisation. Time for the post-match analysis. #TheDean

CSP deals aren’t won on price. They’re won on process. By getting involved earlier. Understanding the customer better. And leading with value — not a quote. As EA continues to give way to CSP, that creates a huge opportunity for services-led MSPs. You already own the customer relationship. You drive adoption. You deliver the services. You’re accountable for the outcomes. You have every right to own the commercial relationship too. But winning it requires a repeatable, scalable, value-first CSP motion. That’s what CSP Growth Engine provides — combining commercial intelligence, automation and expert-backed Microsoft expertise into growth platform that helps partners win more CSP, attach more services and operate the entire motion more profitably. In Microsoft’s growth-focused era, the partners with the best process will win. Want to see it in action? Reach out for a demo and free trial to prove the value. #CSP #MSPGrowth #MicrosoftPartner #MicrosoftCSP #Onyx

This week, we had a discussion about why Edgecase is actually important to us. This was my honest answer. It's not because it looks good on a slide, or because "every company needs a flagship event" these days. It's because Edgecase is where we get to show, not tell. We talk a lot about cloud native, about doing infrastructure the right way, about being a real partner instead of just another vendor. Edgecase is the one day a year where we actually prove that. Where engineers from across the community stand on stage, sharing what they're actually building. Where customers and partners can ask us the hard questions face-to-face. I've seen this event grow from something we were proud to pull off, to something the community actually looks forward to. That shift matters more to me than any of the numbers around it. So this year again, we're putting in the work. Bringing the right people together in Hilversum on September 24. More info: https://lnkd.in/gfYjty4y Want a little push to grab your ticket? A Family PIN Can Become a Company Risk A four-digit family PIN can become a company security decision. That sounds dramatic until you look at what a passkey can unlock. Many people share a personal phone or tablet with a partner or child. The family may know the device PIN because that is convenient at home. If a business passkey is then stored on that personal device, access to company systems may depend on the security of a device and PIN that the business does not manage. That does not mean personal devices or synchronised passkeys are always wrong. It means the choice should be deliberate and proportionate to the organisation’s risk. James Craddock challenged me on this point in our discussion because Microsoft’s default experience can make the easiest user choice feel like the approved business choice. They are not necessarily the same thing. Since 1 September 2026, users enabled for SMS or voice in Entra ID can be automatically enabled for passkeys and may be prompted to register one during MFA sign-in. Before that prompt becomes an improvised policy, decide which devices and passkey providers are acceptable. James and I cover the practical options in the full-length video and podcast from Get Support IT Services Limited. We have also created a free Guide to Microsoft 365 Passkeys to help businesses assess storage, recovery, offboarding and user communication in plain English.

A fake Microsoft sign-in page can look perfect. Your passkey can still know it is fake. I asked Rohan Lumer-Raybould the blunt question in this clip: if I already have a password, why do I want a passkey? His answer gets to the heart of phishing resistance. A password can be entered into the genuine website or a convincing copy. A passkey is bound to the correct domain. If the website is fake, the passkey refuses to authenticate there. It also avoids handing over a reusable secret that somebody can steal and try somewhere else. This became especially relevant on 1 September 2026, when Microsoft made passkeys the default authentication experience in Entra ID. Users enabled for SMS or voice may now be prompted to register a passkey during MFA sign-in. That prompt is the beginning of a security decision, not the whole decision. Businesses still need to think about trusted devices, passkey storage, recovery and weaker fallback methods. At Get Support IT Services Limited, Rohan and I explore the complete picture in our full-length video and podcast. We have also produced a free Guide to Microsoft 365 Passkeys for business leaders who want the practical detail without the cryptography lecture. A fake page can copy the branding. It cannot make itself the genuine domain.

The threat to America’s critical infrastructure is constant and there is an urgent need to deploy new capabilities to counter unmanned aerial threats and sophisticated cyber-attacks. At Cyber Fortress 25, General Dynamics Information Technology, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Virginia Army National Guard came together to demonstrate how DOGMA – our cutting-edge AI and cloud solution – can be used to protect Virginia’s critical infrastructure. The team successfully showcased how the solution can provide real-time visibility into aerial threats on a power grid and support coordinated response efforts. This is what bringing the latest technology to the mission looks like! https://lnkd.in/eXgWF6PJ

As our battlefield evolves, warfighters at the tactical edge need the latest technology to gain a decisive advantage in the fight. General Dynamics Information Technology is committed to this mission by making investments and rapidly iterating with partners to get innovation into the hands of the warfighter faster. During the Mobility Guardian 2025 exercise in Guam – a key location in the Indo-Pacific – we partnered with the Air Force and Google to demonstrate a mission-ready “cloud-in-a-box.” This solution enhances collaboration and accelerates decision making in environments where communication is restricted or even completely cut off. Exercises like this remind us of what’s possible when mission expertise and innovative technology come together. I am extremely proud of our GDIT team and our partners for delivering impact where it counts the most! https://lnkd.in/eAhshZmk

What separates a scalable Airtable system from one that eventually becomes fragile? In my experience, fragile systems usually have one thing in common. They only make sense to the people – or sometimes just the one person – who built them. That creates problems over time. One of the things I like about Airtable is that it's largely self-documenting. 💡 Yes, you can add code, but that code is visible within the system. It's also written in JavaScript, which means most developers will be able to understand and work with it. The other issue with fragile systems is the effect they can have on a business. 📉 They can damage the culture 📈 They can limit growth 🤝 They can make it harder to sell the business Sometimes, the people holding onto those fragile systems are simply trying to protect their own jobs. In the process, they're damaging the company as a whole. 🔒 A scalable system shouldn't depend on one person's knowledge. It should be something the business can understand, maintain and build on over time.
- FormulateRecorded 19 Sept 2026
Airtable systems become fragile when too much of how they work is carried by one person. I’ve seen systems that look perfectly fine from the outside. The automations run, the reports get produced and the team knows how to get through the day. But when a process changes, a new person joins or something needs to be improved, the weakness becomes obvious. The business has to go back to the person who remembers why everything was built that way. That dependency creates risk. One reason I like Airtable is that, when it is built properly, it gives the business more visibility into how the system works. The structure is there to see, the logic is easier to follow and any code sits within the system rather than being hidden away somewhere only one person understands. Over time, fragile systems start affecting more than the workflow itself. 🔹 People feel blocked because they cannot change things confidently 🔹 Growth becomes harder because every improvement depends on one person 🔹 Handover becomes risky because the knowledge has never really left someone’s head Sometimes, holding onto a system can feel like protecting a role. But if the company cannot understand the system without that person in the room, it has become a business risk. A scalable Airtable system should be clear enough for the business to own, maintain and improve over time.

How is #AI affecting you? Here is an article I wrote over Thanksgiving on some thoughts after seeing all the news on the CNBC article topping #BusinessNews Thanksgiving Eve. I even stuck with the topic and made a 100% #AIVideo generated with it. This Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the amazing team, loyal clients, and supportive community that make our business journey possible. Every success and new challenge reminds me how fortunate I am to work alongside such dedicated professionals and to serve clients who trust us with their missions. Your partnership, feedback, and collaboration drive our innovation and give true purpose to our work. As we wrap up our time with family and friends, I’m reflecting on the importance of human connections—whether building technology solutions together, solving unique client challenges, or leaning on each other to navigate an ever-evolving business landscape. Thank you for letting us be part of your story, and for inspiring continuous growth in everything we do. This year, I’m excited to share my new LinkedIN article that highlights the “two sides of the iceberg” in AI, based on groundbreaking recent MIT Sloan School of Management and Massachusetts Institute of Technology research. These studies show that while AI is rapidly automating routine work, it’s ultimately amplifying the value of human creativity, empathy, and leadership. I believe we all have reason to be optimistic and grateful for the unique strengths we bring to our teams, clients, and communities. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the read!
