Retail is DEAD because it’s BORING. Nike is bringing it back to life - with holograms. Consumers can buy anything online in 2 clicks. But they can’t experience anything online. That’s why retailers competing on the wow factor -not convenience- are winning. Less focus on products. More focus on experiences. Take Nike’s House of Innovation in Paris Instead of putting their new AirMaxDn on shelves, they built floating 3D holograms that brought the 'Feel the Unreal' story to life. The moment customers walk in, they’re experiencing something they can’t get anywhere else They remember it. They talk about it. And most importantly - they come back. The stores still open in 5 years will be the ones that make people feel something. P.S. what kind of in-store experience would actually make you get off Amazon and walk into a store ?

Prince William helped us manufacture our products Nine years ago, we were one of 50 startups selected to demo at Founders Forum. Prince William walked in. It was a scheduled visit, a few founders were selected to pitch. One CEO began demoing a robot to the Prince The grand plan - a robot dance performance for royalty. To Daft Punk's song Get Lucky. Robots weren't exactly graceful back then so it looked like it was glitching Then the robot fell. And William commented - 'You've got to work on his dance moves'. That's when the CEO pivoted - 'Not our robot, we just built it' When Prince William left, I approached this CEO : "You said you build products for others, want to build our product ?" Turned out the CEO was Mike McNamara of Flex - the largest U.S. contract electronics manufacturer. Over 150,000 employees globally. Third largest in the world after Foxconn the iPhone manufacturer 24 hours later Mike personally emailed me with his team copied in. Nine years later, Flex is still our manufacturing partner. Thanks, Prince William… you unknowingly introduced us to one of our long-standing partners. And thanks Founders Forum Group ! I always wished I had a photo from that moment - so I went digging. And of course the internet had it. That exact moment : Mike pitching. The Prince watching. Me behind them listening. P.S. What's your take - was this luck or just what happens when you keep building and showing up ?

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of moderating a panel at Forum Europe European Sovereign Cloud Day on: The Sovereignty Rulebook - Harmonisation vs. Interpretation In the wake of the Cloud and AI Development Act proposal, the conversation signalled a shift in the European debate - from how sovereignty is defined to how it is achieved in practice. We covered: -> Europe’s aspirations for sovereign cloud vs. the current reality -> The factors that have impacted progress - from regulation to funding -> Whether harmonisation across 27 member states is truly achievable -> How European CSPs can realistically compete with hyperscalers -> The gap between policy ambition and what providers can practically deliver Many thanks to Andreea Gulacsi Ronald Bezuur, Ingo K. and Larik-Jan Verschuren-Parchomov for a substantive and meaningful discussion. Clips with their invaluable perspectives to follow shortly #EUSovCloudDay
