Big week for us at Equals. After a year of bringing Equals Money and Railsr together, we're finally able to share the full picture — one brand, one platform: @Equals. From a revenue perspective, what excites me most is the scale this unlocks. We're now talking about: • £58bn+ in annual transaction volume • 50,000+ businesses served • Operations spanning 30+ markets That's a serious foundation to go to market with. And the proposition is sharper than ever — payments, accounts, cards, FX and more, all through a single connection. No more stitching together multiple providers just to move money globally. For the businesses we work with, that simplicity isn't just convenient — it's genuinely transformational for how they operate. Really proud of what the team has built. Exciting next chapter ahead.

When we started Emergence, we knew we wanted to build a firm where no one person was the CEO: a true partnership where everyone brought their strengths and covered each other’s blind spots. That idea was tested right away. It took us 15 months and 175 meetings just to get the first close of our first fund. Most of those meetings were cross-country, away from our young kids. After more than a year, our gatekeeper told us “no.” It felt like the bottom dropped out. But that “no” turned into the turning point. It freed us to go direct to CalPERS, and a few days later they committed $15M. Enough to rally others to get our first close done. That experience taught us that rejection isn’t the end. Sometimes it’s the thing that clears the way forward. And it cemented the culture we still have today: team-first, resilient, and willing to put in the work. I talk about that journey (and what we learned from it) on the Yesterday Podcast with Sonith Sunku. Link to the full episode in the comments.

At Emergence Capital, we introduced the concept of “Coaching Networks” nearly a decade ago: https://lnkd.in/gnm3ipHp. The idea was that top-performer activities are identified using basic machine learning and coached to others, creating feedback loops and a culture of shared excellence. Back then, it was more vision than reality. Today, AI brings Coaching Networks to life. AI can identify who your best performers are in every domain, from sales to engineering, and capture the exact moves that make them exceptional. It can then recreate those moves in realistic simulations of specific challenges: a tough customer call, a critical code review, a disagreement with the board. New hires can practice against those scenarios, learning directly from the best without requiring constant one-on-one time. We’re already seeing glimpses of this. Sales platforms like Gong and Chorus analyze the calls of their top performers to generate coaching insights for entire teams. Roleplay applications like Hyperbound.ai and Yoodli help people develop their habits before they are in front of customers. Tools like GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, and DX allow junior developers to see how senior engineers approach problems, shortening the distance between novice and expert. Even firms like McKinsey and Bain are beginning to use AI-driven training to accelerate how new consultants absorb the craft. This transforms skill transfer from an occasional, manual process into a continuous loop. Experts push what’s possible forward, learners catch up faster, and the organization evolves as a whole. The power of Coaching Networks has always been that human ingenuity is disseminated. Now, with AI, it scales. That’s how enterprises can protect and amplify their most valuable IP — the “human algorithm” that makes them different. For founders, creating AI automation applications is a great (and well-understood) way to land within your target ICP. To stand out from the pack, consider how your offering will “prompt” users, as well as models, to improve in their jobs. Not only will your customers appreciate the added value, but your application will learn from these new human habits that only you have uncovered. If you are a founder thinking about ways to prompt users to innovate, along with helping them automate, I’d love to connect with you. Email me at [email protected].

Many people still ask me, “Discover Dollar” is a very cool name for the company, but what do you do? I have summarized it in two mins in my recent podcast with Abhay. Truly to our name, we help companies “Discover Dollar” out of nowhere. To understand, you need to understand the large enterprise source-to-pay first. Most have 6-7 departments - Sourcing teams: who help in finding vendors - Procurement team: who negotiates and onboards the vendors - Requisition teams: who place orders based on demand forecast, etc - Accounts Payable: who makes payment based on goods received, invoices - Treasury: who owns and initiates payments Each team uses different tools and stack - Zoom, Teams, Contract Management Systems, Vendor Portals, Contract CLMs, Spreadsheets, ERPs, etc We have observed that companies lose up to $300K per $100M in procurement. For example: 1. Sourcing negotiated a better price this month, and it’s in a spreadsheet in SharePoint. But the requisition team placed an order at older, higher rates. 2. The procurement team had included a volume rebate in the contract when it was signed 3 years back. The company is eligible for rebates this year, but no one noticed it. We have 300+ leakage scenarios and over 1000+ use cases across $1 Trillion dollars+ data that we have analyzed We have specialized AI Agents that can extract key financial terms from millions of unstructured data sources, such as contracts, emails, and spreadsheets, and compare them against billions of transaction records to help enterprises capture all the money they leave on the table. Typically, in the first year, we work on an outcome-based model. Where enterprises pay only when we deliver real outcomes. Then many companies chose flexible licensing or other options we have. Over the past years, we have helped Fortune 500 companies across North America, Europe, and GCCs save over a billion dollars, which otherwise would have been lost forever Abijith Dheemanth R Owais Manoranjan j Kavya Konishko Chatterjee Sanit Roy Varshita Samy The Innovators and Disruptors Collective

Malahar is right. Enterprises aren't slow - they're cautious. And they should be. When we decided to go after enterprise, we made a choice early - don't ask them to trust us. Earn it before we walk in. SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, ISO 27001:2022 & ISO 42001:2023. These aren't badges. They're the work. Months of getting our house in order - security, data governance, AI management systems - so that when a large enterprise opens the door, compliance is never the reason it closes. Completely agree with Malahar's perspective here - the sandbox works only when the startup inside it is actually ready for that environment. Speed matters. But trust is what gets you in the room. Malahar Pinelli, VP & Country Leader, 7-Eleven GSC, sharing this at The Innovators and Disruptors Collective - when Abhay Tandon asked about what enterprises and startups actually learn from each other.

Recently at Advertising Week, I had the opportunity to connect with incredible marketers, creators and innovators who are shaping where our industry is headed. One theme was clear: marketing is becoming more human, not less, even as technology evolves. Here are some of the themes defining the future of marketing: 1️⃣ Authenticity is the new currency of brand value. Modern consumers expect brands to reflect real human experiences and values. Authenticity, showing up genuinely in communities and staying true to brand purpose, is the foundation of trust and differentiation. 2️⃣ Community is the new channel. It’s no longer just about audiences, it’s about ecosystems. The brands empowering creators, partners, and communities to share their stories will drive the next wave of growth. 3️⃣ Emotional storytelling outperforms rational marketing. Data informs, but emotion converts. Brands that connect through shared values and real stories build lasting impact. 4️⃣ Trust is built through transparency and consistency. Behavioral integrity, showing up consistently across every touch point, is the future of brand trust. 5️⃣ Human creativity and AI will coexist, not compete. AI can accelerate insights, but it can’t replicate emotional intelligence or creativity. The future of marketing belongs to brands that balance tech-enabled efficiency with human authenticity. The energy and dialogue reaffirmed my belief that marketing’s greatest power lies at the intersection of empathy, creativity, and innovation. What themes stood out most to you about where marketing is headed? Let me know in the comments below.

It was incentivized dysfunction. Santiago Nestares believes that ERP vendors make the software hard to implement because it drives more revenue and billable hours for implementation partners. It was incentivized dysfunction, in his words. Santiago joins Glenn Hopper and me for another fascinating episode of Future Finance where he sahres why he started Dual Entry. At his previous company, Benito, Santiago scaled to $100M+ in revenue and watched his finance team grow to 12 people. Half of them? Doing repetitive work every single month—categorizing credit card transactions, processing invoices, copying old journal entries into ChatGPT to adjust allocations. That's when it clicked: "Why is this not already part of the software from the very beginning?" So he built DualEntry, which just announced a $90M Series A from Lightspeed, Khosla Ventures, and GV. He says they "broke all the rules of entrepreneurship" by starting with mid-market companies instead of SMBs. Why? Because that's where the real pain lives—multi-entity structures, audit requirements, and systems that feel 25 years old because they are. He shared the following analogy to explain how most people think about their ERP: ERPs are like chronic back pain. Everyone knows they have it, want to fix it, but fear the "surgery" (implementation) will be worse than the disease. DualEntry aims to make it feel like a massage instead. If you're evaluating systems, Santiago's advice is simple: insist on using the product yourself. If they won't let you click around freely during the demo, walk away. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to brief Senate staff on how the Clarity Act could strengthen law enforcement capabilities and enhance protections for the American people. The legislation extends Bank Secrecy Act and sanctions obligations to digital commodity brokers, dealers, and exchanges. It also establishes a Treasury-led information-sharing framework that unifies DOJ, FBI, DEA, and select private-sector partners to proactively identify and respond to illicit finance risks and emerging threats. From a law enforcement perspective, the benefits are clear: greater visibility, faster coordination, and fewer blind spots for bad actors to exploit. For victims, this translates to earlier detection, more effective disruption of illicit activity, and stronger safeguards before losses occur. I also emphasized that policy alone is not enough. To fully realize the benefits of this framework, additional funding must be allocated to law enforcement agencies for specialized training, modern investigative tools, and the resources required to operate effectively in an increasingly complex digital asset environment. This is exactly why Deconflict.com exists—to enable real-time information sharing across law enforcement and trusted partners, helping dismantle criminal organizations and better protect the American people. As illicit finance grows more complex, the ability to coordinate quickly and act decisively is no longer optional; it is mission critical. Expanding U.S. oversight in this space helps close longstanding gaps between agencies and industry, strengthening our collective ability to disrupt and prevent financial exploitation at scale. I didn't spend a decade of my life working on stablecoin payments to optimise treasury management or shave a few bps off existing flows. I'm here for when our team gets to work on a hard problem that other providers have already dismissed - but which if solved can unlock a completely new business case. There’s something very satisfying about turning a “no” from the market into a working solution. Most stablecoin infrastructure is fine until your flow/route/asset stops being common. Then you discover how many providers mean “not really” when they say “yes”. That is where Rhino.fi specialises. We build custom solutions for the awkward, high-value flows others tend to avoid. For example: - Instant acceptance and settlement to and from difficult to work with chains like Tron and Stellar - Dynamic automated routing per end-customer for USD and EUR stablecoins into specific yield vaults on a destination chain - Complex full app/wallet/chain migrations - High-value instant conversions and settlement above $3M - BTC to stablecoin conversions - USDT and USDC conversions into a custom stablecoin and chain These are not standard flows. But they are often the important ones. If you need something extraordinary, come and talk to us: https://lnkd.in/e5uastwv

📱In a few weeks one phone number will be able to live on two Apple iPhones, and most fraud programs still treat that number as proof of who is holding the device. The feature is called iPhone Handoff, sounds scary already, I know! Apple gave it one line on a WORLD WIDE WEB DEVELOPERS conference slide in June and said almost nothing else. It only drew attention this week when a working demo surfaced from the iOS 27 beta. Here is the practical version. You designate a main iPhone. That one keeps your real eSIM and controls every cellular setting. The second receives what Apple calls a companion eSIM, issued by your carrier, carrying the same phone number on different hardware. Whichever phone is unlocked and in use becomes the active endpoint. Calls, texts and location sharing all follow it there. Only one device holds the line at a time, so this is a handoff rather than a clone. The carrier hands out the second profile on purpose. Both phones must run iOS 27, which supports iPhone 11 and newer (including the SE 2nd generation and later). Setup requires the devices near each other, and nothing works until a carrier turns on support. Early signals point to T-Mobile in the US and Deutsche Telekom, but no US carrier has committed to a date yet. Apple built in some friction during the process. The technology is fine. My concern sits downstream, with every bank, brokerage and exchange that still reads an SMS code as proof the real customer is on the other end. 📲A companion profile carries a different IMEI and a different ICCID under the same phone number. If your fraud logic keys on the number alone, a second device quietly joining a line looks like nothing at all. The old SIM swap needed a carrier store or a bribed employee. The next version of that script is a caller posing as carrier support who walks a victim through Settings, Cellular, Handoff in about ninety seconds, and then owns every password reset text that number receives. Time to change your controls? before the first case lands: ✅ Alert when a new IMEI or ICCID binds to an existing number ✅ Treat an active device change as a step-up authentication event ✅ Require in-app or hardware key approval to provision a companion profile, never an SMS ✅ Move high-value accounts off SMS codes to passkeys or an authenticator app ✅ Ask victims in takeover cases whether a second iPhone was ever added to their line What I keep seeing with new techniques is that they surface in one agency at a time, get written off as isolated account takeovers, and stay local until the same method has run through a dozen jurisdictions. That is the visibility problem we built Deconflict to close. 🚔 Free for law enforcement, and that is not changing. 👉 For the fraud teams here: is device identity part of your authentication model yet, or is the phone number still carrying that weight? I would like to hear how you are handling it. Operation Shamrock ACAMS NW3C, Inc.

After 30 years of building market leaders, Axcel is raising the bar again by integrating Dealstack into their portfolio. Here’s why it matters: 1) Admin that once took weeks (cap‑table updates, waterfalls, equity allocations) now happens in clicks. 2) Everyone from deal teams, law firms and portfolio company teams work off the same structured data. 3) Clean data powers better decision-making, both at the portfolio company and Fund level I spent years in private equity wrestling with disconnected files. 8 of the top 10 private equity firms in Europe use Dealstack. Here's the common things they all struggle with: 1) Aligning ownership data across deal teams, internal functions and external advisors 2) Managing employee/management equity at scale and without friction 3) Ensuring all data is 100% audit and exit ready The main takeaway? Private equity sponsors make things way too difficult for themselves. In large part due to their reliance on outdated tooling from the 90s. It's time for the industry to level up. It's time for private equity 2.0
