The Public Investment Fund (PIF) is managing $1 trillion now and the Board just signed off on the new strategy so Capital markets, industries, and the media alike have begun their discussions on what this means for anyone that has a stake in the region Scanned a few headlines today to get a sense of how the public is seeing this. A handful of Google searches will tell you that this is about fiscal responsibility, domestic development, and strategic prioritization... That part is clear, but let's look at something that doesn't often show up in the headlines These are just 12 of Public Investment Fund (PIF)'s domestic PUBLIC holdings: ‣ aramco: 16.00% stake, FY25 dividend income USD 13.68bn ‣ stc: 64.00% stake, div income $1.88B ‣ SABIC: 70.00% stake, div income $1.68B (through aramco) ‣ Saudi Energy: 74.31% stake, div income $578M ‣ Riyad Bank: 22.00% stake, div income $246M ‣ Elm Company: 67.00% stake, div income $129M ‣ Bahri | البحري: 22.55% stake, div income $55M ‣ Saudi Tadawul Group: 70.00% stake, div income $52M ‣ Kingdom Holding Company: 16.87% stake, div income $47M ‣ Acwa: 44.22% stake (rights-issue year) ‣ Maaden: 67.11% stake (capex-heavy growth phase) ‣ The Saudi National Bank - SNB: 37.20% stake, div income $1.28B ⦿ Around $20B dividend income across this list, not including indirect interests through holdings like Sanabil Investments (which *Est based on data from Saudi Tadawul Group and Argaam Media The Saudi economic transformation story has been an incredible one to watch and be a part of over the recent years. But I find often, global commentary still reads PIF through the lens of lavish sports investments, entertainment plays, and flagship trophy assets What it actually consists of is assets of national concern, with global reach, significant innovation mandates, and immense investment power of their own The Saudi sovereign fund's steering a $1 trillion ship out into the open seas with the PIF board Recent changes will also require a recalibration for anyone looking to partner with the public and private sector in the region. But in my opinion, it the recent changes will create an unprecedented opportunity for enterprises whose own ambitions are aligned with the region's

Saudi Arabia invested $3B in xAI earlier this year making HUMAIN a significant shareholder in SpaceX since after they merged soon after but Beyond the headline, there's something far more interesting happening here 🔘 So what's at play? The answer lives in the topology of these investments. That $3B in xAI connects to: → Neo Space Group (sovereign satellite + geospatial platform) → HUMAIN (Building 3GW or more of AI infra + applications and models) → Alat (domestic electronics manufacturing) → Acwa (Over 120GW of energy assets + plans to almost double by 2030) → Maaden ($110B investment in rare earths, critical minerals, base metals) Each node makes every other node more valuable. Fidelity Investments, invests in xAI, they get a financial return ..When HUMAIN invests, they also get knowledge for domestic AI operations ‣ orbital infra strategy ‣ energy demand validation ‣ and a working template for vertical integration across entire economic portfolios ——- ⦿ There's a concept in development economics called the Economic Complexity Index Hidalgo (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Hausmann at (Harvard University) showed that.. "Countries tend to converge to the level of income dictated by the complexity of their productive structures" Essentially, the wealth of a nation comes down to what it knows how to make, not the resources it sits on top of ⦿ On that index, Saudi Arabia ranks 39th..behind Romania, behind Bulgaria Typically countries whose income exceeds their complexity will get poorer over time, unless they build new capabilities ‣ That's the real ambition behind vision2030 ⦿ But here's the thing, Saudi Arabia jumped 21 positions on that index in five years In comparison, India rose 8 positions and China rose 3 Happening while the Kingdom is seen to be 'tightening its belt' on non-strategic spending, as widely reported earlier this month ----- The traditional path to economic complexity says you walk through 'product space' one step at a time. Petrochemicals to chemicals to plastics to machinery..each move adjacent to the last ‣ Japan did that in 50 years, Korea in 40, China in 30 Saudi Arabia is testing whether sovereign capital, deployed in the right network, can compress that timeline dramatically. Whether you can acquire productive knowledge through investment relationships rather than sequential production alone History says you can't buy complexity but it also says nations build capability sequentially. That assumption may be worth questioning in the new age

Nine in ten finance leaders say they are short-staffed. Four in five say their close takes too long. Only one in ten is doing something about it. Here is the truth: standing still costs more than change ever will. We worked with a portfolio company that kept missing reporting deadlines. After our Accounting Advisory review, they closed early, passed audit with no issues, and uncovered $1.2 million in working capital efficiency. That result is not luck. It is what happens when finance leadership invests in process, not panic. If you are tired of repeating the same close every month and hoping for a different outcome, it's time to talk. https://hubs.li/Q03Rt27l0

You can’t always tell when your books are being mishandled. But there are patterns we see every time we take over from a careless outsourced team. We have a handful of clients who came from bookkeepers who were sloppy, unresponsive, and completely detached from how the business actually runs. No one inside their companies had the accounting depth to audit the work, so as long as the total balances didn’t look off, everyone assumed the numbers were right. They weren’t. The underlying data was full of gaps – expenses mis-posted, transactions left unmatched, and processes with no oversight. It’s what happens when accuracy gets replaced with convenience. That’s where we came in. We audited every historical period, fixed what was broken, and built processes that made sure those mistakes wouldn’t happen again. We also worked directly with their third-party tools, recommending systems that would keep everything precise going forward. The real difference is in how we operate: - We stay in constant contact through Slack. - We respond fast. - We thrive on the details. With Haven, our clients get an accounting system that’s integrated, accountable, and as close to in-house as it gets. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eGjz_q83

🚨We're giving away free money! Well, technically helping you claim yours. Here's the deal: We're offering free R&D tax credit studies to the first 10 companies that qualify, covering credits up to $20K. No strings. No commitments. Just a real evaluation of whether you qualify, how much you could claim, and what the process actually looks like. Because too many founders think the R&D tax credit is either too complicated or doesn't apply to them. Both are wrong. And I'd rather prove it than just talk about it. ↪ What it costs you: Nothing. As long as your estimated credit is under $20K. On the flip side, the average R&D tax credit study costs $2,000-5,000 upfront. Plus, most providers charge ~20% of your credit. We charge 15%. Ready to see if you qualify? Book a call with our tax team to claim one of the 10 free study slots: https://lnkd.in/eB-3GW8a First come, first served. We're capping this at 10 because we want to do these studies right — thorough, compliant, audit-ready. Don't leave your money on the table. Let's figure out what you're owed.

Unfortunately, major nonprofit donors don't just fall in love with your mission —they evaluate your operational credibility. If you're leading an NPO right now, you're about to spend the next two weeks working incredibly hard to attract Giving Tuesday donors. But what happens when those new donors do their due diligence? Because they will. Before they hand over the 💸, they want to know: → Can you show them real-time impact? → Do you have clean, transparent financials? → Can your board confidently advocate for your work? → Do you have the infrastructure to steward their gift well? The difference between nonprofits that convert Giving Tuesday interest into serious funding and those that don't isn't passion. It's operational excellence. That's why our team at Hiline built the Nonprofit Financial Operations Kit — a practical framework around the 4 pillars that transform how donors see your organization: 🔹 Technology Infrastructure 🔹 Sound Annual Budgeting 🔹 Board Readiness 🔹 Grant & Donation Management If you're gearing up for Giving Tuesday, make sure your operational house is ready for the donors who are about to discover you. How long does it take you to forget someone’s name right after shaking their hand? If you’re like most people, just a few seconds. We rush from one task to another, constantly distracted and overloaded. We know how essential relationships are, yet we rarely find the time to pause and truly connect. This is exactly why we created the Human2Human Summit: a space designed to celebrate the power of human connection.

Also wird relativiert, moderiert, vertagt.

Twenty-five years of forming funds. Twenty-five primers to show for it. Nine Tuesdays ago, I started publishing the series I wish someone had handed me at the start of those 25 years — practical field guides to the machinery of venture and private equity funds. Not treatises. Free, in full. How carry actually works (the seven questions hiding inside "20%"). How the GP and management company get built. Side letters, continuation funds, reporting and valuation, global capital deployment — and this week, how corporate venture programs are structured, and why so many die young. Today I'm publishing the whole map. Twenty-five primers in all. Nine are live. Sixteen are coming — one every Tuesday, until the shelf is full. The full curriculum is in the image. The order flexes with the market; the destination doesn't. What I didn't expect when this started: the comment sections. Allocators, CFOs, GCs and colleagues across the market have turned these threads into the best seminar I've attended all year — pushing back, sharpening the frameworks and adding the view from their seats. If some of those unchecked boxes are questions sitting on your desk right now, the follow button is how you're there the Tuesday each one gets answered. Next up, Part 10 — Management Fees. The market-rate question is never just about the rate. Full library so far linked in the comments. #VentureCapital #PrivateEquity #FundFormation #LimitedPartners #EmergingManagers

Finance leaders keep telling me they are running harder than ever. Their teams operate across multiple countries. Regulation keeps climbing. AI is reshaping daily work in ways that demand stronger judgment and tighter coordination. They want advisors who can reduce complexity, not add to it. The old model will not keep up with what they need. So we changed the model. We are bringing together advisory and tax teams across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific into a unified, multinational platform. Shared systems. Shared AI capabilities. One rhythm of work. It helps leaders make cleaner decisions in real time. What stands out most this year is how naturally people are taking to it. When the work moves as one, conversations and opportunities open up. Teams find better answers, and faster. Clients notice and move with more confidence. That is the real measure of progress. A key strength of our model is that we remain a vital part of the Grant Thornton International network, which continues to be highly valued. Our alignment is built on shared values and a unified culture. By streamlining how we serve clients — making it more seamless — we empower both our platform and the broader network to innovate and do things differently. This new approach fosters more efficient collaboration, enables teams to solve challenges rapidly, and ultimately leads to superior outcomes for our clients. I reflected on the signals we are following and why they point to a more connected way of serving clients across countries. Check it out here…

We need to rethink our core assumptions about how business and society work. We need to prepare for the (largely) post labor economy. What happens to our economy when human labor is no longer its central input? What happens to companies when efficiency keeps rising. When much less employees are needed, but customers lose purchasing power? And what are business leaders supposed to do when automation improves productivity, but through unemployment undermines the very demand their business depends on? In this conversation, I’m joined by David Shapiro and Dalibor Petrovic. We discuss realistic time horizons for advanced and emerging economies. And we go deep into the hardest dilemmas for CEOs and political leaders: automation versus employment, productivity versus demand, and efficiency versus social stability. This conversation is also a preview of their upcoming book, to be released in May, which lays out the full framework behind post-labor economics and what leaders, policymakers, and families need to do to navigate this transition.
