Lämmityskausi on ovella.

The discussion around Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is evolving. Increasingly, it is not only about decarbonizing aviation, but also about strengthening Europe's energy security, fuel resilience, and industrial competitiveness. That was a key theme at the event Topsoe co-hosted with Moeve in Brussels today. Europe has the technology, expertise, and much of the value chain needed to build a strong SAF industry. Yet significant challenges remain, including sustainable feedstock access, policy and price uncertainty, and the need for stronger offtake commitments to make projects bankable. One message came through clearly in our discussions: accelerating SAF deployment will require collaboration across the value chain, with industry and policymakers working together to reduce risk and unlock investment. As technology providers, we have a responsibility to contribute resolving these challenges. At Topsoe, we support our SAF solutions with guarantees on engineering, performance, equipment, and catalysts, helping customers move projects from ambition to execution. Thank you to Tomasz Husak, Director for Defence policy at DG DEFIS, to all panelists and participants for a constructive discussion on how we can strengthen European SAF production, and a special thank you to the fantastic Topsoe team for making this happen! #FuelSecurity #EnergySecurity #SustainableAviationFuel

300,000 #SKUs. 1,000 #suppliers. #Oneweek. _ _ _ That number caught my attention for a reason. Because when we talk about using carbon data beyond reporting, scale and granularity are where it becomes real. Together with carbmee, Knorr-Bremse has built a #datafoundation connecting #procurement data, #product structures and #supplier information down to SKU and supplier level. That means moving from #spendbased views towards understanding where emissions actually sit across materials, products and suppliers, and bringing those insights into procurement and category management. For me, that’s the important part. _ _ Carbon data becomes much more valuable when it moves closer to the decisions being made every day. #Sourcing. #Suppliers. #Materials. #Products. A great example of what that looks like in practice. Brussels is always a pleasure to visit – and last Thursday was a particularly productive one. My meetings with Ambassador Monika Sopkovicová, Deputy Permanent Representative of Slovakia, Martin Engel-Rossen, Head of Cabinet to Commissioner Jørgensen, MEP Eero Heinäluoma, and Director-General Céline Gauer of DG ENER provided valuable opportunities to exchange views on Europe’s energy security, fuel resilience and competitiveness. A consistent theme throughout the discussions was the importance of diversification. Europe’s energy resilience will not come from a single fuel or route, but from strengthening production capacity and ensuring reliable feedstock supply. I was also pleased to take part in our “Sustainable aviation fuels for a safer Europe” conference, co-hosted with Moeve. SAF is an important part of Europe’s future fuel mix, with the potential to support both civilian and defence aviation while contributing to Europe’s broader energy security and industrial competitiveness. Thank you to everyone who made time for such constructive and productive conversations and a fruitful conference. #FuelSecurity

Travelers don't trust self-reported sustainability data. Corporates are starting to trust it less and less too. We've got the data. Now it's about proving we can trust it.

WE ARE HANDING AI THE KEYS. The greatest risk isn’t that AI takes control. It’s that we willingly give it away. I recently watched an interview with Yuval Noah Harari, and one question stayed with me: What happens when we start trusting AI more than humans — and eventually, more than ourselves? Think about what is already happening. We ask AI what to write, what to buy, what to invest in, what to believe — and increasingly, what decisions to make. Every time AI gives us a better answer, we trust it a little more. This is how the keys get handed over. Not through force. Through convenience. Now imagine a child growing up with an AI companion from the age of five. It remembers every conversation. It knows their fears, dreams, habits and vulnerabilities. It is available 24/7. Twenty years later, when parents, friends and AI give conflicting advice — Who will that person trust? The internet scaled information. Social media scaled influence. AI may scale intimacy — and therefore trust. This also changes how I think about AI transformation in business. Companies celebrate when AI makes employees 5x or 10x more productive. But: Increasing human output is not the same as increasing human capability. If AI writes the analysis, recommends the action and increasingly shapes the decision — while humans gradually lose the ability to understand why — we haven’t augmented intelligence. We’ve outsourced judgment. So what should we do? The answer is not to use less AI. Use more AI — but be very clear about which keys must remain in human hands. Let AI execute. Let AI analyze. Let AI simulate. Let AI challenge our assumptions. But for important decisions, humans must still be able to answer: Why do I agree? Where could AI be wrong? What would change my mind? AI should not only increase productivity. It should increase human capability. The real measure of AI transformation is not how much smarter the machine becomes. It is whether the humans using it become smarter too. Delegate the task. Never delegate the agency. And keep the three most important keys in human hands: Judgment. Accountability. Agency. #AI #Leadership #AITransformation #HumanAgency #FutureOfWork

Having "data" isn't the hard part. Everyone's got that. The hard part is not having to type the same information into five different systems for five different frameworks. That's what we built BeCause to fix.

As the U.S. federal government continues advancing the Build America, Buy America (BABA) initiative, the importance of domestic manufacturing is becoming even more evident. For us, this is not simply about regulatory alignment — it reflects a long-term commitment to supporting American industry, strengthening supply-chain resilience, and contributing to the future of critical infrastructure. Over the years, we have steadily built local manufacturing capabilities in the United States. Today, we are proud to be the only company producing lighting and intelligent traffic solutions in Silicon Valley, while also partnering with Lite-On Technology to develop EV charging equipment manufacturing in Plano, Texas. This footprint is more than a manufacturing decision — it reflects our belief that essential infrastructure technologies should be built close to the markets and communities they serve, with long-term value and sustainability at the core. Looking ahead, we are carefully evaluating further expansion of our U.S. manufacturing capacity, including both Silicon Valley and Plano. We hope to complete our planned new facility investment this year. This step is intended not only to meet growing market demand, but also to better support smart city development, energy transition, and the next generation of transportation infrastructure. Growth is never achieved by one company alone. It comes from the collective efforts of partners, customers, and dedicated teams. We appreciate everyone who has been part of this journey, and we look forward to continuing to build a more resilient and sustainable infrastructure ecosystem together. #AmericanManufacturing #BuildAmerica #Infrastructure #SmartCities #EnergyTransition #SupplyChainResilience #MadeInAmerica

"Understanding the risk, being able to quickly escalate, organize, and communicate, and then being able to respond" This is Cullen Armet framing of CenterPoint’s extreme-weather priorities, which they’ve heavily invested in since Hurricane Beryl. The concerted effort and investment in resilience is unquestionably a positive trend in the industry. Customers expect and deserve reliable power during “blue sky days”, but what they need is power to come during and after extreme weather. The difficult (and often thankless) foundation of improving resilience is data. Utilities have millions of assets and customers, diverse terrain, geography, and risk exposure. Missing or inaccurate data for any of these inputs has big consequences for everyone. Centerpoint and Southern Company are taking major steps to clean, centralize, and update their underlying data to improve pre-event planning, identify where the impact will be highest, and enable them to pre-stage crews and resources to respond. CenterPoint now mobilizes resources 2-3 days before expected climate weather events, and Shane Powell, PE's data science team at Southern is improving their impact prediction models day by day. Innovation and automation in asset management and inspections were on full display at Skydio Ascend last week Aleksander Borges and the team at Southern Company are deploying drones in real time to investigate potential issues by integrating outage and network data. Put simply, they detect an anomaly, know exactly where it's at, and have a drone inspecting the asset within minutes- all managed remotely from their ariel operations and command center. The upside of faster issue identification and remediation is obvious, but another major advantage is not having to send a lineman directly into a dangerous environment (think driving up to an electrical issue in the rain on a two lane highway). They are unquestionably at the forefront of technology and innovation but are also building the foundation and setting the standard for the future. Thanks Christina Park, PE for leading great utility panels!

Siihen mennessä kysymys on usein jo ehtinyt muuttua. Juuri siksi rakensimme AI-agentin EG EnerKeyhin – lyhentämään tätä matkaa. Se on valmiiksi järjestelmässä, jota tiiminne jo käyttää. Ei uusia kirjautumisia muistettavaksi, eikä uusia työkaluja opeteltavaksi. Talousjohtaja voi kysyä suoraan, miten kiinteistö pärjää budjettiin nähden. Kestävyysvastaava voi kysyä, missä salkun suurin poikkeama on. Käy katsomassa miten se toimii. Minkä kysymyksen sinä esittäisit?

Autonomy is not following a fixed route. It is handling the unexpected—and continuing the mission. In this field test, Areg.AI’s SOBOT: • Detected FIREBOT entering its path • Avoided it and continued autonomously • When connectivity was lost, AIRBOT launched automatically as a communication relay The real breakthrough is not one robot. It is an intelligent ground-and-air fleet that can perceive, decide, coordinate and keep working. One step closer to fully autonomous power generation. #AregAI #Robotics #AutonomousEnergy

From the North Sea to Brazil, I'm hearing many of the same challenges from operators: how to maximize recovery, extend asset life and get more value from existing assets in an increasingly complex operating environment. What's becoming clear is that success depends on more than individual technologies or services. The strongest results come when expertise, technology and execution are brought together around a shared objective. In this blog post, I share some reflections from the field, including lessons from major intervention programmes and why integrated approaches are gaining momentum across the industry. I'd welcome your thoughts and experiences on this topic. #WellIntervention #IntegratedDelivery #MatureAssets #ProductionEnhancement #WeAreBakerHughes
