We talk a lot about "person-centered care" in this sector, but what does it actually look like from a leadership perspective? This week at GreenTree Programs, our team sat down for a roundtable discussion on this exact topic. After years in this field, it is always refreshing to strip back the buzzwords and look at what it really takes to build a person-centered culture. We narrowed it down to three core principles: 1. It starts with how we treat our staff. You cannot expect a frontline worker to deliver deeply empathetic care if leadership treats them like just another file number. Person-centered care is a ripple effect, it starts with supporting your team exceptionally well so they actually have the emotional bandwidth to support others. 2. Policies must serve people, not just compliance. It is so easy for leadership to get bogged down in administrative paperwork. If a policy is just words on paper designed to make our reporting easier, it isn't serving its mission. We have to fiercely protect humanity from red tape. 3. Lead from the floor, not the desk. Decisions made in a boardroom rarely reflect the reality of the living room. I will be the first to admit I can be guilty of getting stuck behind my desk, but leadership must stay connected to the day-to-day moments. We have to walk in the shoes of our frontline staff to truly understand the perspective of the people we serve. I want to put the question out to my network: What does person-centered care look and feel like at your agency or place of work? What do best practices look like for your team? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Join us on November 5, 2026, for the second webinar in our free series: The value of Automation – Practical application insights for smarter labs In this session we'll explore: Automating cell-based assays: from cell viability to potency Ismail Cisse, PhD, Field Support Scientist for High Throughput applications at Promega, will offer a practical look at what changes when cell-based assays move to an automated liquid handler. Using cell viability as a starting point, he'll explore how automation can support more consistent workflows and help reduce manual variability. He'll also look at the role of reproducibility in bioassays for biologics, where dose-response curves and relative potency measurements support release and stability testing. Why attend? • Understand which cell-based assay characteristics are well suited to automation. • Learn what to check when transferring an established manual protocol. • Explore how automation can support more consistent cell seeding, dilution, and reagent addition. • See how automated workflows can help reduce assay variability. • Discover where automation can add value first—from cell viability assays to potency testing. Leave with a clearer view of how to assess, transfer, and automate cell-based workflows with greater confidence 📅 November 5, 2026 | 4:00 p.m. CET Join us live and bring your questions about laboratory automation.

Does RNA manufacturing really need more assays, or do we need to get more from the ones we already have? That question came through strongly in our latest podcast, with three different perspectives: 🔬 Mark Dickman called for greater standardisation, particularly around how we measure mRNA integrity and dsRNA. Without it, how meaningful are comparisons between methods, labs or suppliers? 🧬 Francis Combes questioned whether adding more QC assays is really the answer. Could we instead combine critical quality attributes and better connect them to biological outcomes? ⚙️ Ashish Dhir took the conversation upstream, arguing that DNA template quality needs more attention as a determinant of the RNA we ultimately produce. These aren’t separate challenges. They point towards a broader shift in RNA manufacturing: from measuring quality at the end of the process to understanding and controlling it throughout. From advanced analytical tools and improved enzymes to next-generation process controls, where do the experts think the field is heading? 🎧 Listen to the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/eqNkdbyY
