A RevOps team once ran a sneaky experiment on their lead scoring model. They pulled a batch of contacts from their database and assigned them lead scores using a random number generator. Then they mixed those randomly-scored leads in with the ones scored by their actual, carefully-built points-based system – and passed both batches over to sales. The result? No difference in close rate. None. Their "sophisticated" scoring model was performing exactly as well as a coin flip. This is a story Dale W. Harrison told on the B2B Effectiveness series – Evidence-Based Marketing Ideas for B2B Practitioners, and it's one of the cleanest illustrations we've come across of why so many MQL scoring models don't actually predict anything. The problem was never the M or the L in MQL. It's the Q – what actually makes a lead "qualified." Check out the full episode here.

Liam Moroney spent six years selling cameras before he ever got into B2B marketing. And what he learned on the shop floor is the same thing most B2B lead scoring gets wrong today. There's always a group of people who show up every single week to play with the gear and never, ever buy it. Ask anyone who's worked a specialty electronics or hobby store – they'll tell you exactly who these people are. There's also a group who only ever ask about price. Turns out that's not a buying signal either – they already know they're getting it cheaper from the big box store down the road. Fast forward 15 years, and Liam's looking at his own company's lead scoring dashboard, staring at accounts who'd read 500 blog posts and never come close to buying. Same pattern. He just hadn't connected the dots yet. Dale W. Harrison calls this out directly: people who engage constantly with your content can be functionally indistinguishable from people who are actually ready to buy. He calls the never-buying group "click monkeys" – and no scoring model, however sophisticated, can tell them apart from a real prospect using digital signals alone. Dale and Liam unpack this in Episode 3 of B2B Effectiveness: Evidence-Based Marketing Ideas for B2B Practitioners. Watch the full episode here.

30 years working with CPG teams teaches you things you can't get from a pitch deck. You learn how large organizations are structured and make decisions. Most importantly, you learn why storytelling is more than a "nice to have" it's the thing that connects a shopper to your product. Our CEO and founder, Chris del Rey, talks about what's changed in those 30 years and what hasn't. See how that shows up in our work. Visit genesisx.com

Is your sales team set up to sell everything you've got, or are they stuck working around gaps in the inventory and creative behind them? Alex Gold, Chief Digital Officer at GenesisX, has seen this play out across dozens of RMNs. The deals that close fast aren't the ones with the best sellers, they're the ones where sellers aren't waiting on someone else to catch up. Scale changes what "closing faster" actually requires. Can your suppliers participate at the pace your sellers need them to? Is unused inventory sitting there because nobody's equipped to fill it and not because nobody wants to buy it? The teams pulling ahead aren't working harder. They're working with tools built to remove that gap entirely. Hear how Alex breaks it down: genesisx.com

Right person ✅ Wrong moment ❌ Missed opportunity 🚫 For years, advertising has focused on getting better at finding the right person. But people aren’t static. What we’re interested in, engaged with, and open to changes constantly. So we built our approach around something more dynamic: Mindset. Our Mindset Graph™ uses AI to understand the signals shaping receptivity in the moment, acting when relevance and performance potential align. Because reaching someone isn’t enough. The moment has to be right, too. That’s the thinking behind GumGum, The Mindset Company™.

Jess Carr, Senior Paid Acquisition Manager at Bitly, is focused on knowing which campaign actually drove what sale. Bitly's 2026 Marketing Visibility Report showed her she's not the only one chasing that answer. Her takeaway was to stop digging data across six different tools and bring it all into Bitly instead. Now, every link and QR code scan lives in one place, so Jess can trace each sale straight back to the campaign that drove it.

Speedo-dealer? Dan zie je Speedo. Simpel voor de dealer. Veel minder handwerk voor marketing. 👉 Bekijk hoe All Sport het organiseerde.

Health has shifted from a state to an obligation. Track your steps, your sleep, your stress. Fall behind? Well, apparently, that's on you. What if CM, as a health brand, could take that pressure away instead of adding to it? Not by telling people how to live better, but by making sure they feel supported enough to just... live. That insight became a brand platform. And a line that works equally well on a festival poster as beneath a letter about palliative care: Feel free to live. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ev956FGN

But more shoppers also means more keywords, more products and more daily decisions. When we built Autopilot, the goal was simple: you set a daily budget, and it finds high-potential keywords and adjusts your bids for you. How do you learn our investment thesis well enough to actually target the right companies? Most vendors send you a form, hand it to a list builder, and hope for the best. The result is what a lot of buyers have experienced: conversations with companies that have nothing to do with their criteria. Our process is different. Before any list is built or any message is written, we run a full onboarding call that goes deep on your thesis: what disqualifies a business immediately, what revenue proxies to use when EBITDA isn't visible, what ownership structures or geographies to exclude. Then we apply a detailed internal questionnaire at the list building stage so every company we reach out to is already filtered against your criteria before the first email goes out.
