Behind OPUS® are the people who made it possible. Bringing an idea to life is never the work of one person. It takes collaboration, trust, expertise and the willingness to keep pushing further. In this interview, Yoann Bertrand, R&D Electronics Manager, and Thierry Casabonne, R&D Mechanical Manager, look back on the journey behind OPUS®: the technological challenges, the importance of working together, the pride of seeing their work become a reality, and their ambition to keep pushing innovation further. Because innovation is not only about what you see in a product. It is also about the people behind it, the challenges they overcome and the passion they bring to their work every day. As OPUS® receives the 2026 Red Dot Design Award, we wanted to shine a light on some of the people behind this achievement. #acteon #reddotaward #dentistry #ultrasonicscaler #MedTechInnovation

Pediatric low-grade gliomas (pLGGs) are the most common brain tumors in children. Yet, as rare tumors, their impact and the challenges faced by children and families are not well understood. Some children require years of care, and up to half may experience tumor regrowth following their initial treatments. The impacts can be lifelong, affecting learning, development, vision, and overall quality of life. This Brain Tumor Awareness Week, we are raising awareness of rare pediatric brain tumors and the importance of keeping children at the center of oncology research and innovation. Because every child deserves the opportunity to benefit from progress designed with their needs in mind.

"They're the ones that identify the gaps, because they're the ones falling in them." Our front-line team works closest with the people we support, which means they often spot what others miss. At GreenTree Programs, when a support worker raises a question or concern, we listen. Many of our policies started exactly that way: one team member asking, "What should I do here?" and that answer becoming a standard for everyone. If you want a workplace where your voice shapes how things are done, we'd love to meet you. Explore careers at GreenTree Programs: https://bit.ly/4jXbYdd

“When collective action starts to work, carers benefit. Which means the people they care for benefit. And when this happens, everyone benefits. That’s why everything we do is for carers.” - Collective Leadership Group At our Carer Industry Forum 2026, 220 senior leaders came together to celebrate the progress made since Forum 2025 and strengthen collective efforts to improve support for carers. The relationships built at Forum 2025, brought together leaders from across the health and education sectors to develop 15 initiatives to strengthen carer recognition and support. Seven months on, all 15 initiatives are being piloted, with projects at different stages of development and delivery. The ambition is to turn collaboration into lasting change - improving, adapting and scaling what works, to make a meaningful difference for as many carers as possible. We look forward to sharing more about these projects in the coming months!

We talk a lot about "person-centered care" in this sector, but what does it actually look like from a leadership perspective? This week at GreenTree Programs, our team sat down for a roundtable discussion on this exact topic. After years in this field, it is always refreshing to strip back the buzzwords and look at what it really takes to build a person-centered culture. We narrowed it down to three core principles: 1. It starts with how we treat our staff. You cannot expect a frontline worker to deliver deeply empathetic care if leadership treats them like just another file number. Person-centered care is a ripple effect, it starts with supporting your team exceptionally well so they actually have the emotional bandwidth to support others. 2. Policies must serve people, not just compliance. It is so easy for leadership to get bogged down in administrative paperwork. If a policy is just words on paper designed to make our reporting easier, it isn't serving its mission. We have to fiercely protect humanity from red tape. 3. Lead from the floor, not the desk. Decisions made in a boardroom rarely reflect the reality of the living room. I will be the first to admit I can be guilty of getting stuck behind my desk, but leadership must stay connected to the day-to-day moments. We have to walk in the shoes of our frontline staff to truly understand the perspective of the people we serve. I want to put the question out to my network: What does person-centered care look and feel like at your agency or place of work? What do best practices look like for your team? Let me know in the comments! 👇
