Finance Directors - under pressure to deliver automation this year but not sure where to start? You're not alone. FDs and CFOs are being told the same thing: "automate, find efficiencies, do more with less." Fewer of them are being told how. Most finance automation stalls not because the tech is hard, but because nobody's mapped which bits of your month actually deserve to be automated first. That's the bit we're good at. We build custom software that quietly removes the parts of finance you dread - the manual data entry, the spreadsheet archaeology, the reconciliations held together by good intentions and a prayer. A few examples of our work: ✅ Built a custom bidding and calculation system for Elektroline handling up to 10,000 line items - cutting turnaround from 3 months to 14 days with zero pricing errors. ✅ Developed a full management system for an energy provider covering contract drafting, pricing, invoicing, commissions and reporting - rolled out modularly so operations never stopped. ✅ Created a real-time data platform for an energy trader powering predictive analytics, dynamic pricing and contract management. ✅ Helped Avvoka evolve from MVP to a market-leading contract automation platform used by Warner Bros. Discovery, McDonald's, Carlsberg, and top law firms. Built scalable architecture, accelerated dev cycles, and later helped them hire and transition to a fully independent in-house team. Our Offer To Financial Directors: ⚙️ We'll build a working prototype of a basic version of your custom software automation project in 14 days. If you don't like it, you pay nothing. Anyone can talk a good game - we demonstrate upfront that we deliver. 💥 To further sweeten the deal, we'll gladly to review your current workflows and brainstorm how you can deploy automation in your organisation. You can use these insights and ideas even if you elect never to speak to us again. If "we should really automate that" has been on your list longer than you'd like to admit, send me a DM or engage with this post. Thank you so much for your time. Have an absolutely wonderful day, Jon P.S. To read our success stories in more detail, head here: https://lnkd.in/e97hyi6t

Is your company ready for AI, or just ready to spend on it? Those are different questions. Most of the money wasted on AI goes to companies that answered the second one and assumed it covered the first. So we built RAIDY: an AI-automation readiness radar. Fifteen multiple-choice questions about how your company actually runs. Processes, tools, people, leadership. It takes about five minutes. No email opt-in required. The full result shows immediately. You get: ✅ Your readiness radar. A score in each of the four areas, with a “start here” badge on the weakest one. ✅ Your archetype. Are you the Firefighter? The Librarian? The Sprinter at the Start Line? There are eighteen, and every one is a competent company in an under-equipped situation. ✅ One thing to do this week in each area. None of it needs a vendor. ✅ An honest reading of how urgent any of this is for you. Sometimes the answer is “not very.” RAIDY measures readiness, not shopping lists. It won’t tell you which tool to buy. It tells you whether anything you buy would actually land, and what to fix first if it wouldn’t. Quite often the fix is a written process or a simple integration. No AI at all. And if the honest answer is “you don’t need AI yet,” RAIDY will say so. We’d rather you hear it from a quiz than from an invoice. ➡️ Reveal your radar here: https://lnkd.in/eTegKjc3

FDs/CFOs/Other Finance Professionals: Do you (or your team) have a task on your plate that you’d pay to get rid of? Most of us do. So here’s the question: Why are you still doing it? From what I’ve seen, there are usually three reasons: a. You don’t know how to get rid of them b. You assume the solution would be too expensive c. Human oversight is essential Fair. So let’s remove those obstacles: 1. Send me a message and let’s see whether it can be automated 2. Try our Automation Investment Calculator to see what that automation would actually be worth. ✅ Head here: https://lnkd.in/eXBZFija 3. Automate everything else and keep yourself in the driver’s seat My DMs are open. Tell me about your dreaded tasks. We love slaying those pesky processes with automation. Somewhere right now, someone is copying an order number from one system into another for the 300th time today. On the 301st, they'll swap two digits. Nobody will notice for a week. That's the cost of being human, and it's the second metric we look at when treating automation as an investment. Every mistake gets paid for twice. Once to make it, and once to find it and fix it. The first payment is easy to see: someone spent time doing the task, and the output was wrong. The second payment is the sneaky one. A mistyped postcode becomes a failed delivery. That becomes a customer service call, a re-dispatch, a refund, an apology, and possibly a "we're reviewing our supplier relationships" email from someone senior. Each step pulls in another person, another system and another chunk of the day. And the later an error is caught, the more it costs. A typo spotted at entry takes ten seconds. The same typo found by finance at month end takes an afternoon and two very tense Teams calls. None of this is a criticism of your team. People are brilliant at judgement, nuance, building relationships and sensing when something feels off. Where we struggle is copying fourteen fields between two screens at 4:45 on a Friday while our inbox pings. So how do you put a number on it? Start with three questions about any repetitive, rules-based process: ✅ How often do errors happen? ✅ How long does it take to spot them? ✅ How long does it take to put them right, and who gets involved? Multiply that out over a year and you'll usually find a figure nobody has ever written down. It rarely shows up on a P&L. It hides in overtime, rework, write-offs, credit notes and the slow drain on customer goodwill. That figure is part of the return on automation. Automated processes do the same thing, the same way, every single time. They don't get tired, distracted or bored. When something does go wrong, it goes wrong consistently, which makes it far easier to trace and fix once. Meanwhile, your people get to spend their time on the work that actually needs a human brain. If you've only been measuring automation by the hours it saves, you're probably undervaluing it. Add up what your mistakes are costing you as well, twice over. Which process in your business do you suspect is quietly racking up that second payment? Tell us in the comments, or drop me a message and we'll help you work it out. #Automation #BusinessProcess #DigitalTransformation #SoftwareAutomation

Every automation business case needs a starting number, and the best one to start with is what the task costs you today. Count the hours your team spends on it each week. Add the errors, the rework and the chasing. Then remember those hours belong to skilled people who could be doing something more valuable. That figure is your baseline, and everything else gets measured against it. This series covers the metrics that make automation a proper investment. First up: the cost of doing nothing.
