Chirality is the theme of the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, awarded to Prof. Kenzo Soai for his pioneering work on asymmetric autocatalysis and chiral amplification. We are delighted to announce that Symmetry is hosting a webinar on Chirality in Chemistry—and notably, our chair, Prof. Takashiro Akitsu, is from the same faculty as Prof. Soai at Tokyo University of Science. Prof. Soai has also published his work in Symmetry, making this session a fitting tribute to a remarkable moment for the field. Theme: Chirality in Chemistry Time: 26 October 2026, 20:00 EDT | 27 October 2026, 09:00 JST Chair & Speaker: Prof. Dr. Takashiro Akitsu — 東京理科大学, Japan Speaker Prof. Dr. George O'Doherty — Northeastern University, USA Register free: https://brnw.ch/21x6pXM

👏#TravelAward Deadline is approaching. Just Three Weeks left. Do not miss the chance. 🕙Application deadline: 31 October 2026 Available at: https://brnw.ch/21x6hja Symmetry Travel Award was launched in 2017, and it is presented every year to encourage junior scientists to present their latest research at academic conferences in the field of symmetry/asymmetry phenomena in natural sciences, which helps to grow their profile. The winner will be announced by the end of December. #Postdoc #PhDstudent #younginvestigator #mdpisymmetry

Check this Special Issue about "Skewed (Asymmetrical) Probability Distributions and Applications Across Disciplines, Fourth Edition" at https://brnw.ch/21x50o7 Editor: Juan Carlos Castro-Palacio, Pedro José Fernández de Córdoba Castellá, Shufei Wu and Miguel Enrique Iglesias Martínez Skewed distributions are transversal and ubiquitous to all scientific disciplines. They have captured the attention of many researchers, as a deep understanding of their underlying probabilistic mechanisms is crucial in many fields. The right choice of the probability distribution for a non-normal stochastic process and the proper interpretation of its parameters can be very challenging and of enormous importance in fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, and social sciences... Check this Special Issue about "Mathematics: Feature Papers 2025" at https://brnw.ch/21x52dc Editor: Calogero Vetro This Special Issue is devoted to collecting research works and reviews in all of the fields covered by Mathematics. We aim to receive papers highlighting the latest advances in pure mathematics and applied mathematics, as well as papers providing applications of mathematics in real-life processes; hence, we encourage both scientists in leadership positions and young researchers at the beginning of their careers to contribute. We hope that this Special Issue will provide a suitable platform with which to share new interdisciplinary ideas, to support emerging topics, and to disseminate consolidated theories, hence increasing the level of knowledge and understanding of mathematical research in the scientific community. Particular attention will be given to the refinement of the roles of symmetries and asymmetries... Special Issue "Symmetry/Asymmetry in Operations Research" is open for submission! Editor: Yunfei Fang and Peng Wu Details see: https://brnw.ch/21x4RjF Operations research (OR) is an analytical method of problem-solving and decision-making that enables us to achieve the best performance under the given circumstances. It is an interdisciplinary science involving statistical analysis, optimization theory, industrial and systems engineering, management science, Artificial Intelligence, and computer science, etc. Due to its power to handle sophisticated and practical problems, it is being widely applied to various areas, such as supply chains, logistics, production and scheduling, intelligent manufacturing, smart health, transportation planning, operation management, and engineering design. Though symmetry/asymmetry phenomena are observed in most of the aforementioned areas, as with logistics and supply chains, symmetry/asymmetry in OR has not been thoroughly investigated. This Special Issue “Symmetry/Asymmetry in Operations Research” focuses on the methodologies and applications of OR involving symmetry/asymmetry phenomena. It aims to attract high-quality studies of original OR contributions and to promote theoretical developments and real-world implementations in relevant fields...
