Buying trust services is easy. Knowing who operates them and how they are controlled is a much harder question. Certificates, signatures, seals, and timestamps are what let you prove a contract was signed by the right person, or that a log entry has not been altered. But if this necessary data and the infrastructure behind it sit outside European jurisdiction, questions about data access, legal reach, and supply-chain disruption follow. Location alone will not answer those questions. Good rule of thumb for the years to come: a European trust services provider is not trustworthy simply because it is European. It still has to prove it through certification, audits, and clear liability rules. Our new blog post outlines three things worth asking any trust service provider about their digital sovereignty: https://lnkd.in/e4BVhNt7/?utm_campaign=2024_InboundPR_EU_Clicks&utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid&utm_id=687940446&hsa_acc=511512730&hsa_cam=687940446&hsa_grp=906350264&hsa_ad=1624402084&hsa_net=linkedin&hsa_ver=3 #DigitalSovereignty #DigitalTrust #TrustServices #DataSovereignty #eIDAS #ElectronicSignatures

A trust service that is controlled by third-country actors could cut your company off from services like digital signatures or certificates. Better bet on sovereign alternatives.

The European Digital Identity Wallet is fast becoming an integration question rather than a regulatory one. At the Smart Country Convention in Berlin (13-15 October), Swisscom Trust Services was the main sponsor of the Wallet Forum pavilion in Hall 25, Booth 205. The latest edition of The Verified Update looks at what mattered most at the Wallet Forum from our perspective: what relying-party readiness actually involves, and one proposal for introducing the wallet without launching a migration project. #TheVerifiedUpdate #SCCON26 #EUDIWallet #DigitalTrust #DigitalIdentity
