🖥️ WEBINAR: Skills tell you what someone has learned to do. Capability tells you what they can actually do with it when the context changes. That distinction sits behind two sides of the same problem: capturing evidence of what people can do, and recognising what that evidence means over time and across contexts. Most systems only look at someone's most recent job, which leaves a lot of real capability undiscovered. Join Tara Jacobsen (CEO, Capability.Co) and Margo Griffith (Principal Skills Consultant, SkillsAware) in an engaging webinar facilitated by Yasmin King FAICD (Director & Co-Founder, SkillsAware) - "Beyond Skills: Building the Capability Economy". The webinar will unpack why skills alone don't tell the full story, and how skills evidence and capability recognition work together rather than in competition. You'll walk away with: 👉 A clear, usable distinction between a skill and a capability, and why conflating the two causes real problems in hiring, L&D and recognition design 👉 A view of how skills evidence and capability recognition work as two layers of the same system, not competing approaches 👉 Language to take back into your own organisation, and a sense of where formal recognition, including university credit pathways, can take that evidence 📅 Wed, 28 October 2026 ⏰ 12:00 - 1:00pm AEDT Free to attend. WEBINAR: Your organisation measures qualifications and experience. What about the human capabilities between the lines? The capabilities that actually drive performance aren't always captured by degrees, job titles or CVs. Join Tara Jacobsen (CEO, Capability Co.) and Margo Griffith (Principal Skills Consultant, SkillsAware), facilitated by Yasmin King (Director & Co-Founder, SkillsAware), for Beyond Skills: Building the Capability Economy - unpacking what it takes to move from a claim on a resume to real evidence, and from evidence to genuine recognition. WEBINAR: Two of Australia's leading voices on skills and capability, in one webinar. Tara Jacobsen has spent three decades building skills and workforce pathways across vocational education, higher education and industry, and now leads Capability Co., credentialing human capability through the Working Futures Human Capability Standards. She's also currently completing her PhD on how social capital shapes employability outcomes for young people in regional Australia. Margo Griffith has spent 30+ years inside the global skills ecosystem and digital credentials, and convenes the Australian micro-credentials network. On 28 October, facilitated by Yasmin King, they're joining forces for Beyond Skills: Building the Capability Economy to unpack why skills alone don't tell the full story, and what it takes to recognise capability as it actually shows up at work. WEBINAR: Your workforce has critical capabilities you can't see on a résumé. Communication, problem-solving, collaboration - these shape performance every day, but most organisations have no consistent way to measure them. Your workforce has critical capabilities you simply cannot see on a traditional résumé. Look at almost any application and you’ll find the same standard keywords: collaboration, problem-solving, communication. But because traditional systems treat these essential human capabilities as vague or subjective, leadership has no reliable way to measure, compare, or deploy them. Human capabilities shouldn't be a guesswork exercise. They can be consistently described, evidenced, and mapped to real-world operational needs. When you make human capabilities fully visible, your organisation can: - Identify critical capability far beyond static job titles. - Bypass resume blind spots to unlock latent internal talent. - Make unshakeable, data-backed workforce decisions. In Episode 5 of our webinar series, Capturing Skills Visibility in Your Industry - Human Capabilities, Yasmin King FAICD and Margo Griffith will break down how to turn the human capabilities you value into data you can actually see and use. 📅 Date: Wednesday, 16 September 🕛 Time: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM AEST 🔗 Reserve your spot! #SkillsAware #SkillsIQ #HumanCapabilities #WorkforcePlanning #TalentAcquisition #HRInnovation #FutureOfWork

Degrees, CVs, and job titles measure where someone has been. They rarely capture the critical human capabilities sitting between the lines. The capabilities that actually drive operational performance - like crisis leadership, complex stakeholder negotiation, and cross-functional problem solving - are almost impossible to track using standard HR tools. As a result, organisations settle for subjective claims ("they're a great communicator") rather than verified capability. It’s time to move from: "They have strong communication skills" to "Here is the evidence." When human capabilities are translated into objective, measurable data, workforce decisions become stronger, talent becomes visible, and development spend gets targeted with precision. Join us for Episode 5 of our webinar series: Capturing Skills Visibility in Your Industry - Human Capabilities.SkillsAware Co-Founder Yasmin King FAICD and Principal Skills Consultant Margo Griffith will demonstrate how machine-readable descriptors and human-in-the-loop validation convert abstract human traits into an actionable workforce strategy. 📅 Date: Wednesday, 16 September 🕛 Time: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM AEST 🔗 Register now! #WorkforceDevelopment #HumanCapabilities #FutureOfWork #SkillsVisibility #TalentMobility #HRTech
