Need a car or an apartment with a low credit score? No problem. You can buy approval... $83 for an apartment, $680 for a car loan. The seller runs the whole application for you, on a credit identity built from a synthetic Social Security number (those start at $50). That’s credit boosting. Our Threat Intel unit tracked the market across 21 Telegram channels and 13,900 messages for October’s Threat Radar. Also in this month’s issue: → An arrest and two rebrands later, OnlyFake’s generator is still running. → A billion leaked KYC records, and why content checks fail. Every month, we publish what we’re seeing in document fraud and what it means for your controls. Subscribe and read the full issue below 👇

Is that really fraud? Or just your e-signature tool? Modification isn't proof of fraud. But when your own tools stamp every page, the signals say otherwise, and good customers get declined for it. Joe L. explains how it happens, and how to tell the two apart in this clip. Join him and Nico Martinez for the full version live in our next webinar, Document Fraud 201: Turning Detections into Decisions, on September 30th. You'll learn how to tell tampering from fraud, and how to turn signals like this into a risk policy built around your institution, so you can automate more decisions without declining genuine customers. This is probably the number one reason fraud and risk teams get frustrated with vendors: Fraud isn’t one size fits all. What works to keep risk out in one workflow is probably just noise and friction signifying nothing in another. How you contextualize those signals is the difference between holding the line against relentless assaults from fraudsters, and having the confidence to scale an automation program to all parts of your organization. Vendors can help you get there, but you need to set the policy they act on. Nico Martinez and I will be tackling exactly that in our next live webinar, Doc Fraud 201: Turn Detections to Decisions next Wednesday at 3PM BST / 10AM EST. As usual we'll save up plenty of time to answer audience questions, so don't miss out and sign up below: https://lnkd.in/dyAAeTaM

AI is making fraudsters faster and harder to catch. But you already know that. So how do you turn the fraud you detect into decisions? Our previous webinars exposed the threats: Template farms, GenAI fakes, verified bank accounts anyone can buy. You’ve seen it all this year. This time we show how to apply these insights to your own risk appetite, using real cases and experience from the field of document fraud. Join us on September 30th for our live webinar, Document Fraud 201: Turning Detections into Decisions. Joe L. and Nico Martinez will explain how teams automate the call without blocking good customers or waving fraud through, with live Q&A. 👉 Register here to attend live or to receive the recording: https://lnkd.in/drj872hS

At Resistant AI - Fraud Detection, we help companies around the world uncover risk hidden in documents -- from modified text and inserted faces to AI generation and template farms. But flagging the risk is only the first step. Which findings actually matter for your needs? And how can you use them to drive automation, influence user behavior, or improve decision-making? Join me and Joe Lemonnier on September 30th as we explore how to turn raw fraud signals into actions. Register here to attend live or get the recording: https://lnkd.in/dg4WWuPM

There are hundreds of online shops selling ready-made document templates. We call these template farms, and our Threat Intelligence unit has been tracking them for over 2 years now. Bank statements. Utility bills. IDs. If your onboarding relies on a document, someone has probably templatized it. What used to take a skilled fraudster months to learn now takes minutes to create. Most risk teams have no idea how big this market has already become. 👉 Watch the full video with Jan Indra, Resistant AI's Threat Intelligence Investigator, as he explains document templates in depth and what it means for your fraud controls: https://lnkd.in/dZ2VBR-R
