🌌𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟲) This image shows the Pillars of Creation, located within the Eagle Nebula in the constellation Serpens, around 6,500 light-years away from earth. These towering columns made of cool interstellar gas and dust are being sculpted and eroded by intense ultraviolet light radiation from nearby young, large stars. 🤝Image Credit: D. 🌌 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮 (𝗡𝗚𝗖 𝟲𝟭𝟲𝟰 / 𝟲𝟭𝟲𝟱) This image shows the Dragon’s Egg Nebula, an emission nebula in the constellation Norma, located around 3,800 to 4,200 light years from Earth. It is formed by the massive O-type star HD 148937 and its magnetic companion, whose powerful stellar winds have shaped the surrounding gas. Although it resembles a planetary nebula, its structure is the result of intense stellar activity, likely from a past multi-star interaction or merger within the system. 🤝 Credit: D. 🌌 𝗣𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮 (𝗜𝗖 𝟱𝟬𝟳𝟬) This image shows the Pelican Nebula, an active star-forming emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, located around 1,800 light years from Earth. It forms part of a larger complex alongside the nearby North America Nebula (NGC 7000). Its distinctive shape is created by evolving clouds of gas and dark dust, while embedded young stars drive energetic processes within the nebula. The presence of Herbig-Haro objects highlights regions where stellar outflows create shockwaves, heating the surrounding gas and shaping the structure over time. 🤝 Credit: J.
