Starting New York Climate Week with big news: Mombak reached the first close of the Amazon Reforestation Fund II, our second investment vehicle, targeting up to US$150 million. As reported by Reuters, Fund II has also received approval for an additional US$40 million credit line from BNDES. We’re also announcing an offtake agreement with Salesforce for future carbon removal credits. Salesforce joins buyers including Microsoft, Google, McKinsey, Bain and Climeworks. In July 2026, Mombak issued its first reforestation credits and delivered them to buyers more than two years ahead of deadlines set in the underlying offtake agreements. “The market spent years asking whether high-integrity reforestation could actually deliver. We answered that with our first deliveries ahead of schedule. Now, we are scaling our operations, with renewed support from investors, customers and BNDES,” said Gabriel Haddad Silva, CEO of Mombak. Fund II follows Mombak’s first fund, which raised US$120 million from international institutions and supported reforestation across 15 farms in the Brazilian Amazon. Mombak has planted almost 15 million trees to date. Read the full story by Gabriel Araujo at Reuters in the link in the comments.

Mombak is proud to announce its first deliveries of reforestation credits - more than two years ahead of schedule. Following the issuance of more than 21,000 tonnes of CO₂ removed from the atmosphere by our native biodiverse projects in the Amazon, certified by @Isometric under a CCP-approved protocol, we are delivering credits to a group of buyers including Google, McKinsey & Company, and Bain & Company - who are members of the Symbiosis Coalition - as well as Climeworks, Commons, McLaren Racing, and Union Square Ventures. This is the first delivery of credits from a Symbiosis-approved project. The deliveries include new sales contracts (both spot and forward offtakes), as well as delivery against existing offtake agreements. Credits are being delivered to Google, McKinsey and McLaren Racing over 2 years ahead of expectations. This milestone demonstrates that high-integrity carbon removal can be delivered at scale from reforestation in the Amazon and reinforces Mombak's position as a company capable of turning ambitious commitments into verified outcomes. “Trust is earned through delivery. By issuing real, durable carbon removal credits and delivering them to customers more than two years ahead of schedule, we’re demonstrating that Mombak can be relied on to deliver both quality and execution." said Gabriel Haddad Silva, CEO of Mombak. We're proud to announce the issuance of Mombak's first ARR carbon removal credits, certified by Isometric. This milestone also marks the first nature-based carbon credits ever certified by Isometric and the world's first native-species-only reforestation credits certified using dynamic baselines. These reforestation credits are backed by almost 15 million native trees planted across the Brazilian Amazon, across more than 100 native species, and a certification framework designed to set a new benchmark for scientific rigor and transparency in forest carbon removal. "The carbon removal market has been calling for a shift from promises to delivery. This issuance is exactly that. It is an important milestone for Mombak — and for the future of high-integrity carbon removal at scale," said Gabriel Haddad Silva, CEO of Mombak. The news about our first carbon removal credits for Enhanced Weathering (ERW) has been featured in Carbon Pulse. The issuance places Mombak as one of the first multi-pathway carbon removal companies in the world. “We always believed that Brazil would be able to be a force for nature and restoration, but that carbon removal was going to take many shapes and forms.” said Dan Harburg, Chief Product Officer at Mombak. Mombak is one of the first multi-pathway carbon removal companies in the world — and now we have the credits to prove it. Today, we generated our first verified carbon removal credits through Project Cajueiro, our Enhanced Weathering pilot project in Brazil, and registered our first reforestation project with Isometric, becoming the first supplier on the registry with both engineered and nature-based carbon removal projects. Project Cajueiro spreads finely ground basalt on agricultural fields in Brazil, permanently storing carbon as bicarbonate ions carried to the ocean, while improving soil health and crop yields for farmers. In parallel, our reforestation projects restore degraded pastureland in the Brazilian Amazon with a biodiverse mix of native species. These projects are designed to neutralize leakage, with each credit carrying 100-year durability, and will be certified under Isometric's Reforestation Protocol, which recently received ICVCM Core Carbon Principles (CCP) approval — one of the market's clearest signals of quality. We're deeply grateful to the investors, partners, and buyers who have believed in this vision from the start. Brazil represents the world's largest carbon removal opportunity — and with both pathways now active, we're just getting started in becoming the largest carbon removal credit supplier in the world.

Brazil plays a key role in tackling climate change, and the Amazon rainforest is one of the world’s most efficient ecosystems for carbon removal. In an interview with Valor Econômico, Gabriel Haddad Silva, CEO of Mombak, explained why the country’s reforestation initiatives are expected to scale under Article 6 mechanisms, which enable bilateral agreements and the transfer of internationally traded carbon credits between national carbon markets. “Countries such as Singapore already use these mechanisms to meet their climate targets, and Brazil has all the conditions to become a leading supplier, given its scale, competitive costs, and carbon removal potential,” he said.
