💜 🌻 Very proud to be part of this journey... In April 2023, Lloyds Business & Commercial and Small Business Britain published the Disability & Entrepreneurship Report. It revealed stark barriers facing disabled founders: https://lnkd.in/eNNk4kvF Why does this matter? - 25% of entrepreneurs are disabled or neurodivergent, yet they generate just 8.6% of UK small business turnover. - 84% feel they lack equal access to opportunities. - 57% cite access to finance as their biggest need. If we get this right, financial empowerment of disabled entrepreneurs could unlock £230 billion for the UK economy. This isn’t just a social imperative - it’s an economic one. Representation matters: - 70% of disabled entrepreneurs lack visible role models. - Disability representation in media is just 4%. We need to change that. Here’s how Lloyds Banking Group have been taking action (and how you can help us...!) ✅ Co-chaired a roundtable with the UK government and ecosystem leaders ✅ Partnered on the Lilac Review with Elyn Corfield on the Steering Board: https://lilacreview.com/ ✅ Created and signed the Disability Finance Code for Entrepreneurship – setting principles for inclusive finance and driving systemic change 🌐 Disabled Entrepreneurs Hub – a central resource for financial and non-financial support: https://lnkd.in/eygTqEsm 🏢 Lilac Centre – implementing recommendations through events, masterclasses, and mentorship: https://lnkd.in/esBnnMVE 🛠 Inclusive Design – co-creating products with disabled entrepreneurs via a research panel (join us!) 🎤 Headline sponsor of Naidex, launching Elevate, the UK’s first pitch competition for disabled entrepreneurs: https://www.naidex.co.uk/ 🚀 New Breakthrough Accelerator Programme with Foundervine, supporting scaling disabled-led businesses: https://lnkd.in/exS5tJec 🧠 Research into Neurodiversity and Entrepreneurship – survey now open, make your voice heard! https://lnkd.in/egDXwu5y 📢 Launched a bold "Disability Means Business" campaign with Purple Goat Agency: https://lnkd.in/erEzTX3j This work sits at the heart of social sustainability – creating systems where everyone can thrive. I’m proud lead a team driving real change, and I’d love to hear your thoughts: What more can we do to make entrepreneurship truly inclusive? #DisabilityMeansBusiness #SocialSustainability #InclusiveFinance #Entrepreneurship #LilacReview Chris Loring Sharon Doherty

Could January be make-or-break for commercial vehicle investment? For many of us, Christmas and New Year planning is taking over, but for manufacturers and logistics companies; the next 6-8 weeks are crucial for planning fleet capability growth, and business car finance. With new registrations landing in March, January and February are the critical window to secure build slots, finalise finance, and lock in delivery timelines. Miss it, and the consequences ripple across production, fulfilment and commercial performance. Our Lloyds Business & Commercial Asset Finance specialists partner with manufacturers and logistics businesses every day to structure flexible, commercially sound funding strategies that support growth without constraining liquidity. If commercial vehicle investment is on your 2025 agenda, now is the moment to move. The businesses that act before the March surge are the ones positioned to move fastest. Read more on what business leaders need to know: ➡️ March plate demand creates pressure ➡️ Protect cashflow while scaling ➡️ Tax advantages through early planning Whether you’re replacing end-of-life assets, scaling capacity to meet growing demand, or accelerating your transition to cleaner, more efficient vehicles, acting early is the differentiator. One of the biggest costs for law firms? Professional indemnity insurance (PII). As we head towards January, I’ve been having more conversations with law firms about this. For many, it’s second only to salaries in terms of cost and unlike wages or premises, it’s paid annually, in full. That can be a heavy hit to cash flow, especially for firms focused on growth, client delivery or investment in talent. That’s why at Lloyds Business & Commercial, we offer tailored PII and Tax funding solutions via Asset Finance to help legal practices manage these costs more smoothly. What’s more, our partners at Gallagher Specialty have launched a specialist team to support law firms in sourcing effective PII cover, with exclusive discounts available to Lloyds customers. Here’s why many firms are choosing this route: ✅ Spread payments across 12 months ✅ Free up working capital ✅ Avoid expensive alternatives like overdrafts ✅ Plan ahead for March/April tax bills If this sounds relevant to your firm or you just want to explore what’s possible then read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/efxJe7n5 It’s never too early to plan ahead.

How can digital and data-led innovation help UK businesses to grow? Last week, we hosted our latest Industrial Strategy roadshow event on Digital & Tech in partnership with CBI (Confederation of British Industry) and hosted by Blake Morgan LLP in Reading. The event was chaired by CBI Chair Rupert Soames and attended by tech and innovation leaders from a variety of sectors as well as CBI Director of Innovation Naomi Weir. Government representative Hannah Boardman, who leads on the digital and tech sector strategy, brought valuable insights from a public policy and engagement perspective. AI is a clear priority. Our Commercial CIO Ulku Rowe outlined how we are transforming Lloyds Business & Commercial – utilising technology and AI to help build better products, improve productivity and provide even better support to our clients. Our knowledge tool, Athena, is already doing this at scale, supporting more than eleven thousand colleagues in customer-facing roles. A recurring theme is the need to strengthen AI skills and confidence across the workforce. Building wider AI literacy will be essential to help businesses adopt technology responsibly and unlock productivity. Digital transformation is in reach for every sector. With the right tools, SMEs across manufacturing, retail and services can use automation and data to streamline operations and grow. The UK has the foundations and momentum to lead in AI, from world class research to strong investment. We’ve invested more than £4 billion in our digital transformation. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this valuable discussion.
