JMC & I | My Work, My Routes, My JMC For Álvaro Olaso, going electric began with something familiar: JMC. Álvaro runs Piriapán, a bread distribution business serving communities across Maldonado, Uruguay. During the busy summer season, one small petrol van could no longer carry enough, while sending out two vehicles meant more journeys and higher fuel costs. Having owned JMC trucks before, Álvaro was ready to try the JMC Carrying EV. It offered the capacity his business needed, along with lower operating costs and less time off the road. Today, the Carrying EV covers around 100–120 kilometres a day, charges overnight and often returns with around half of its charge remaining. Monthly energy costs have fallen from around UYU 30,000 in petrol to approximately UYU 2,000–3,000 in electricity. For Álvaro, electric was a new step. Choosing JMC was not. Kicking up desert dust, JMC Club kicks off its maiden off-road gathering in Chilca. JMC Peru hosted the first JMC Club owner outing in the Chilca Desert, pairing hands-on off-road training with owner engagement. Led by overlanding specialist Alejandro del Solar, attendees learned sand driving, terrain assessment, slope navigation and 4WD operation, applying these skills on authentic off-road terrain to unlock their vehicles’ full capabilities. JMC Club enhances the ownership experience through professional training, responsible off-roading and stronger owner connections.
