Two awards, one focus: Africa’s frontline. 🏆 This past week, Jem was awarded for its transformative excellence and innovative technology both locally and internationally. Jem won the Future of HR Awards 'HR Industry Innovation Using Technology' at the 2026 awards held last week. The judges recognised technology that has “transformed HR accessibility” and “improved workforce inclusion and created significant efficiencies for employers”. That’s the work we care about: making the lives of our frontline workers better with faster, easier access to the HR solutions they need and financial benefits and wellness tools through WhatsApp. Our Commercial Director, Christopher Hellmann, collected the award on 15 October. Since joining Jem, this security client has seen a significant improvement in staff retention. Here’s how easier access to workplace tools and financial support can strengthen the employee experience. For this particular client in the security industry, staff turnover was reduced from 31.6% in Year 1 to 15.6% in Year 4. That's a 51% reduction. For a security business, fewer departures matter. Every officer who leaves creates a post to cover and a replacement to recruit, train and get familiar with the site. But what makes someone want to stay?
