🚀 We officially launched the HaaS 1,000. 🚀 For a while now, hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) has felt less like a niche and more like a booming reality. Teams aren’t experimenting anymore. They’re operating scaled service models. But often without much visibility outside their own corner of industry! That gap is what pushed us to start documenting the trend. Hardfin's HaaS 1,000 is a living index of companies running and scaling HaaS today. Some are already on your radar. Many aren’t. They reveal how widespread this shift already is and how much momentum it has. Looking forward to watching this grow! - Text-onlyToo often, hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) gets mistaken for leasing. 🤔 Leasing spreads out payments. HaaS redefines how the whole company runs. ⚙️ In the field, Operations teams are driving installs, tracking uptime, and managing assets. 💸 Back at HQ, Finance is juggling depreciation rules, recurring revenue, and cash flow. When those realities are siloed, you’re not running HaaS—you’re building friction. That’s why Hardfin ties asset deployments to finance workflows. Real-world operations activity turns directly into data ready for billing and accounting. No spreadsheets, no lag. 🛠️ The real win isn’t just smoother billing or a faster close. It’s a model where customers get continuous value and companies build predictable revenue. 📈 That’s the promise of HaaS. But it only works when ops and finance are aligned.LINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 18 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyOne of the most common question I get from hardware companies: “How should we structure our first hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) program?” 1. I always suggest that you start with sales. If CUSTOMERS indicate they want access to your solution as a service-based package, you should move forward with evaluating an offering. 2. From there, you can define the SOLUTION. What are you including in your HaaS offering? 3. After the solution is developed, decide on whether or how to BUNDLE. As opposed to pricing a la carte for individual options. Most of the time, HaaS works better as a bundle. 4. Finally, you can lock in PRICING. Consider the component of the solution, the bundle you’ve created, and target margins. At this point, everything should come together smoothly. We’ve written a few articles about solution design, bundle development, and pricing strategy. I’ll add the links in the comments.LINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 18 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyWhen I talk to finance leads at hardware companies, billing for partial deployments is always a headache. They know the main contract/MSA. They often know what piece of it should be invoiced. But too many times, the DATA to do it accurately just isn't there. Four units deployed in January. Three more in March. Another batch in April. Most systems don't track which specific units are deployed, when each one was activated, or what's actually billable. So finance has 3 options (and they’re all bad): 1) make an estimate 2) wait to get clarity from operations 3) underbill and catch up later All three paths produce the same outcome: inaccurate and delays invoices. It turns out the data gap is upstream of the billing process! That's where Hardfin comes in: connecting asset deployment activity to the contract terms that determine what's billable, so finance has real DATA instead of a “best guess.” #billingops #fieldvisibility #hardwarefinancialoperations #hardwareasaservice #haas #deviceasaservice #daas #equipmentasaservice #eaas #machineasaservice #maas #robotsasaservice #raas #servitization #managedservicesLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 18 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyHardfin recently released major updates for operations and finance teams who are tired of getting data late: 🔄 Cycle-time analytics show where fulfillment slows down, by stage, so supply-chain teams know exactly where to step in ⚠️ Shipment attention signals flag stalled orders with warning and critical badges before customers feel the delay 🧾 Item-level pricing defaults pre-fill automatically when items are added to a billing plan, cutting repetitive data entry across projects 📋 Useful-life revision tracking gives finance a dated audit trail for every asset accounting change, no email chain required Full release notes in the comments. More than fits in a post! 🚀 #productrelease #hardfin #hardwarefinancialoperations #hardwareasaservice #haasLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 18 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyFinance can't bill what ops hasn't tracked. When equipment rolls out in batches, most systems don't capture which units are live, when each one was installed, or how many assets are active under the contract. Finance inherits that gap. Someone estimates, checks with ops, or holds the invoice until the facts are clear. By the time billing goes out, it's late… or approximate… or both. 📉 Finance is working with incomplete field data. A tighter review cycle on spreadsheets won't fix it. The ONLY way to make billing accurate on staggered contracts is to provide real-time visibility into what's deployed, where, and when. Hardfin connects deployment activity to contract terms automatically, so ops doesn't have to brief finance, and finance doesn't have to guess. #supplychain #billingops #fieldvisibility #hardwarefinancialoperations #hardwareasaservice #haas #deviceasaservice #daas #equipmentasaservice #eaas #machineasaservice #maas #robotsasaservice #raas #servitization #managedservicesLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 18 Oct 2026
