A customer tells you they cancelled because of the price. You log: Churn reason: Too expensive. And move on. But what if price wasn’t actually the main reason they left? I tested this with recently. The customer initially said the subscription had become too expensive. Then Frank kept asking follow-up questions. And the story started to change. The first answer was predictable. The subscription went from around $49/year to $150/year. Too expensive → cancel. But Frank didn't stop there. It asked: “What made you decide to cancel right when that email arrived instead of looking at other options?” Then: “What happened when you reached out?” Then: “How did that response make you feel about staying subscribed?” That changed the picture. The customer had actually contacted the creator before cancelling. They were an early customer and expected some flexibility. They were told the new price was the same for everyone. So they cancelled. But here's the interesting part. Later in the interview, they said they still loved the product. They were still using the old templates. They said they'd even consider subscribing again if the pricing changed. That's a very different churn story. The product wasn't necessarily the problem. The deeper issue was the combination of: → A significant price increase → Expectations as an early customer → The retention experience after reaching out This is what I found interesting about Frank. It's an AI customer research platform that can interview customers through conversations and adapt its follow-up questions based on what they actually say. Instead of stopping at: “Too expensive.” It keeps asking: “Why?” And sometimes that's where the useful insight starts. Because a cancellation survey gives you a category. A conversation gives you the real context. Try here: https://lnkd.in/gBpmCgWb #AI #Retention #Churn #Automation | Paid partnership with Frank

We just launched the Frank widget. It integrates with your cancellation page and interviews every customer who churns. Most cancellation surveys are shallow. And team-led interviews can create so much pressure that customers avoid sharing the real reason they left. Just like in this video... 😅 Frank asks the right follow-up questions, goes deeper, and uncovers what actually caused the cancellation. And people are more frank with Frank. 🤷♂️ So your team can stop guessing and start fixing the problems that drive churn.
