We're giving away 100 Arduino UNO Q boards. And all you need to get started is a great idea. Today, we're launching the Arduino UNO Q × Embedder Build Challenge with Arduino and Qualcomm, and we are really excited to see what people come up with. Here's how it works: → Submit your project idea by November 27 → Judges from Arduino, Qualcomm, and Embedder select 100 ideas → If selected, you'll receive an Arduino UNO Q and a full Embedder license → You'll have 4 weeks to bring your idea to life Already have an UNO Q? Even better. You can skip the selection round and jump straight into building. And yes, there are prizes! The top 10 projects will be featured on Arduino and Embedder channels, and the top 3 will each receive an Apple Watch. Why are we doing this? Because we believe great ideas shouldn't get stuck between writing code and getting hardware to work. Arduino has made building with hardware accessible to millions. Qualcomm brings powerful computing capabilities to the UNO Q. And at Embedder, we're making it easier to develop embedded software with AI that actually understands your code and hardware. Put those together, and we think some pretty amazing things can happen. Whether you're into robotics, edge AI, computer vision, smart home projects, or have an idea that doesn't fit neatly into any category, we'd love to see what you build. The challenge is open to builders in the US, Canada, Mexico, EU, UK, Switzerland, and Norway. Follow us to stay updated on the challenge details as we all make progress! Submit your idea here: https://lnkd.in/g4Z5kFNF Know someone who would love this? Tag them! Let's get more people building. Amir Sherman Adam B. We've officially joined RISC-V International as a Strategic Member! With our automotive silicon partners leading the push into RISC-V, more firmware teams will soon be porting code to new cores. Through RISC-V International’s technical and community groups, Embedder will bring the firmware developer’s perspective to the ecosystem, along with hands-on insight into AI-assisted development. We look forward to helping more RISC-V products reach the market.

Embedder Free launches today! 🚀 Embedder Free gives anyone access to an enterprise AI platform built specifically for embedded software development, at no cost and at your own pace. Whether you’re bringing up your first board or you’ve been shipping firmware for years, this is your invitation to see what AI can do on real hardware. Why we built it: we believe the next chapter of embedded development is an exciting one. Engineers get more room to think like system architects, experiment freely, and use AI to help build, test, and iterate. We want the whole embedded community to experience that shift with us. The best way to understand it is to get hands-on. Now you can start for free: https://lnkd.in/g_DSNiwP Embedder Free is for personal, educational, and non-commercial projects. Building a product? Let’s talk about what Embedder can do for your team. We’re launching alongside Hackster.io. where the greatest community of embedded developers is. Bring your next idea! The delivery gap is the gap between what product roadmaps demand and what engineering teams can deliver. As hiring slows and budgets tighten, AI can help teams keep pace by reducing the time spent on development, debugging, and testing. Microsoft’s 2025 Work Trend Index captures the pressure: 53% of leaders said productivity needed to increase, while 80% of the workforce lacked enough time or energy to get their work done. In embedded software, that pressure is especially acute. Driver development, board bring-up, debugging, and testing all compete for limited, specialized engineering capacity. Engineers must translate hardware documentation into code, then verify that the firmware behaves as intended on the device. AI offers a way to expand that capacity. Across randomized trials involving 4,867 software developers, AI assistance increased the number of completed tasks by an estimated 26%. The trials weren’t specific to embedded software, but the results show the potential. Realizing that potential in firmware requires AI that can work with the hardware, documentation, and tools engineers use every day. Embedder is an AI platform built for embedded software development. It brings together a team’s codebase, datasheets, schematics, and development tools to help write firmware, bring up boards, investigate bugs, and run tests on real hardware. It uses feedback from builds, device logs, debuggers, and test equipment to guide changes and validate results. By connecting firmware development with testing on real hardware, Embedder helps teams turn requirements into working firmware with less manual effort. When hiring can’t keep pace with demand, helping existing teams deliver more becomes critical. Amir Sherman Brandon Liao Raul Vergara

Two evaluation kits land on a firmware engineer's desk in the same week, both meeting the spec at about the same price. By Thursday one has a working sensor driver and a passing test on the board, and the other is still blinking an LED while someone digs through a 1,500-page reference manual for one clock setting. The second chip might be the better part, but it won't get the design win. Developer experience used to break ties between chips on a shortlist. Now that 90% of developers use AI coding agents every week (source: JetBrains), it's going to decide which chips stay on the shortlist long enough to be considered. Most of the big MCU vendors have shipped agent tooling over the past two years, but each covers one vendor's parts, and products don't. For example: a car door module might pair one vendor's Bluetooth SoC with another's microcontroller and a third's power IC, and the engineers building it need one agent that works across all three. Agents also make switching chips cheaper, and no vendor can stop that. SDK familiarity has quietly protected a lot of parts that wouldn't have won on merit, and we think vendors should stop defending that moat and compete on the silicon itself. Embedder is an AI firmware engineer that connects software development, hardware documentation, build tools, and physical devices in one workflow. In this demo, we were able to generate production-level STMicroelectronics STM32H755 EtherCAT motor control firmware in <4 hours. This is just one of the many ways our agents can boost your embedded software team’s productivity.
