The Canadian rail industry urgently needs a coordinated standards framework to address key design and construction challenges of large passenger rail infrastructure projects. The current lack of consistent standards and reliance on incompatible ones has led to significant delays, cost overruns, and broader impacts on the economy and transportation sector, and contributed to an erosion of public trust. With broad support from sector experts, CSA Group is stepping forward to support this critical work by facilitating the development of a Code that would provide clarity to project participants, support consistency and integration of standards, streamline procurement and contracting processes, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient, and connected Canada.

As conversations about strengthening Canada’s economy take centre stage, trade is playing a prominent role in these discussions. How can standards help strengthen Canada’s global trade and build trust across borders? What can Canada do to strengthen interprovincial trade and present a more unified global presence? What does the arrival of AI mean for trade in Canada? At the CSA Policy Pathways Conference earlier this month, experts shared insights and ideas on redefining Canada’s trade future. In this video, hear from Ryan Manucha, M. Daniel Vazquez, and Danielle Goldfarb as they explore answers to these questions. #CSAPolicyPathways #Trade #EconomicGrowth
