atNorth has today announced a heat reuse partnership with Selected Group to strengthen Danish food security. The partnership reflects atNorth’s approach to integrating heat reuse opportunities into the design of its data centers Under the agreement, surplus heat from atNorth’s DEN02 data center campus in Ølgod will power Selected Group’s large-scale greenhouse development to cultivate fresh local produce. Alongside its environmental impact, the development will also deliver significant local benefits for the Ølgod community, representing a major local investment that creates meaningful job opportunities. “This partnership demonstrates exactly what responsible digital infrastructure should look like”, said Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, CEO atNorth. “By collaborating with forward‑thinking organizations like Selected Group, we can transform surplus heat into a valuable resource that supports local food production, reduces carbon emissions and strengthens community resilience. DEN02 is designed to integrate into Ølgod community, and this project exemplifies this.” The project is designed to scale in tandem with DEN02’s development, with the first phase expected to be completed in Q3 2028. atNorth is expanding into Norway with the acquisition of land for NOR01, a new mega data center site in Haugaland Næringspark / Haugaland Business Park. Located in Haugaland Business Park in Tysvær Municipality, NOR01 will launch with an initial capacity of 120MW and is designed to scale to 350MW, supporting future demand for high-density, AI-ready infrastructure across the Nordics. “Expanding to Norway has been a long-term strategic priority for us, and we’re proud to officially mark our presence across all the Nordic countries with the announcement of NOR01,” said Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, CEO of atNorth. “Haugaland Business Park is a strong industrial region that offers the ideal combination of renewable energy, excellent connectivity, and a naturally cool climate, making it a highly attractive location for future-focused, AI workloads.
