As more Chambers of Commerce and economic development organizations (EDOs) explore AI programs for their small business communities, an important conversation we're having is about responsible adoption and how businesses can build trust in the use of AI. Having spent a significant part of my career in corporate governance, I see this as a leadership responsibility, particularly for small business owners who may be adopting AI without the internal expertise or safeguards available to larger organizations. Employees are increasingly experimenting with AI tools, connecting applications and sharing business information, often without fully understanding the data permissions involved or the potential risk controls they should have in place. Some important considerations we're discussing with economic development and business-support organizations include: · Choosing the right AI tools: How can businesses evaluate which applications are appropriate, what data they access and whether they deliver meaningful value? · Data governance and customer trust: What safeguards are needed to protect customer information and sensitive business data, particularly when multiple AI tools or agents are connected? · Leadership and employee awareness: How can owners help their teams understand responsible AI use, including the risks associated with sharing information? · Practical adoption and outcomes: How can AI improve business performance without losing appropriate human oversight? For Chambers focused on business retention, downtown business vitality, and long-term economic growth, these considerations should weave through the AI workshops and support programs they're developing. It's also central to how we've built Amplifyo, with responsible AI, data privacy, human oversight and alignment with applicable federal and state requirements informing our approach from the outset. If your Chamber or EDO is exploring AI programs or workshops for small businesses, I'd welcome a conversation about how responsible adoption, data privacy and measurable business outcomes can be included into your approach.

Economic development organizations: How can your 2027 budget deliver greater impact for the businesses and communities you serve? As 2027 budgets take shape, I'm actively working with economic development leaders to develop proposals focused on extending the impact of every dollar invested in small business growth. Three priorities are shaping these discussions: • Business Growth: Delivering meaningful outcomes for local businesses. • Regional Alignment: Advancing program goals and economic development priorities. • Innovation: Expanding program capacity, reach and impact with existing resources. I believe responsible AI can play a powerful role in helping EDOs support more small businesses, build capacity and gain greater visibility into progress and results. Its encouraging to see growing interest from economic development organizations in bringing Amplifyo to their regions as a partner in advancing these priorities. With responsible AI, data privacy and security built into the platform, were helping program leaders explore practical ways to scale support and measure the impact of their investments. If you are shaping your 2027 budget priorities, lets explore how to make your investment go further. https://lnkd.in/g6PYh-Ex

Put an AI marketing engine behind every small business in your region. One EDO delivered a business growth workshop with Amplifyo, and 40% of businesses signed-up to access the engine to keep their momentum going in the day-to-day. Amplifyo gives every business in your region an always-on AI growth-marketing engine, then tells them what to do next every week. You buy the licenses wholesale, from $55 per business per month, and hand them out. If it is going into next year’s budget, we can have a proposal with you 48 hours after a first conversation, and have you live in under 30 days.

I see small business owners leave a great EDO workshop with a clear plan for what to do next...then Monday morning arrives. Customers need attention. Someone calls in sick. There are invoices to chase, suppliers to manage and a business to run. The plan is still there. The capacity to keep executing it often isn’t. I’ve seen this repeatedly through my years working with small and mid-sized businesses. It raises an important question for economic development organizations (EDOs) : what happens to the value of small business support after the workshop or program session ends? Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) invest significant resources in workshops, technical assistance, advisors and growth programs. But the economic outcome comes later, when businesses put that support into practice consistently enough to attract customers, build revenue, become more resilient and grow. That makes execution part of the path from program investment to economic impact. It’s an area we’re working on with Amplifyo: helping EDOs extend practical growth & marketing support beyond the program itself, while gaining visibility into how businesses continue to engage with that support. For me, that’s where technology can add real value to the work already happening in economic development. As EDOs plan priorities and budgets for the year ahead, I’m speaking with organizations about how Amplifyo can help them extend support to more businesses, strengthen execution after programs end and scale the economic impact of the work they’re already doing.
