[#Culture] 🇬🇧 What if Flax-Linen was hiding behind some of the world’s greatest masterpieces? Behind the paintings of masters such as El Greco, Titian, Caravaggio or Velázquez lies another work of art: the canvas itself. Research into paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries has revealed Linen canvases, with remarkable weaving patterns hidden beneath the layers of paint. Sometimes, Flax-Linen isn't the subject of the artwork. It is what made the artwork possible. Discover more stories from Flax, a fibre of civilisation(s).

🇬🇧 Is Linen only for summer? No. In a laboratory study comparing four textile samples under identical conditions, the 100% Linen sample ranked second for heat retention. Combined with its ventilation and breathability, this moderate insulation creates a balance between freshness and thermal comfort. By adapting the yarn, fabric weight, knit or weave, Linen can be designed for different seasons, from lightweight summer shirts to warmer knits, throws and bed linen. European Linen: naturally suited to every season. Non. [#Textile] 🇬🇧 Did you know? Decathlon France has designed a bike frame bag made with European natural Flax-Linen fibre. To develop this product, Decathlon chose to follow the Flax-Linen thread, meeting the people involved at every stage of its transformation. At first glance, it is a bike bag. In reality, it is a project that invites us to explore new ways of designing, producing and telling the story of everyday objects. From the Flax fields between Normandy and the Netherlands, to scutching in France, spinning in Poland, weaving in northern France and assembly in the Czech Republic, this bag tells the story of a 100% European value chain. By train, night train, bike and sometimes by car, Decathlon set out to meet the people who grow, process, weave and assemble the material. Discover the journey of this bag that grew in the fields 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJCnPY7b --------------------------------- 🇫🇷 Le saviez-vous ?

[#Textiles] 🇬🇧 🌿 Flax-Linen Glossary: have you heard of velvet? At the heart of textile craftsmanship, velvet is a fabric distinguished by its soft, dense pile, created by weaving or knitting an additional set of yarns that form a raised surface. Unlike flat fabrics, velvet offers a unique texture and depth, combining softness, light absorption and a rich visual appearance. When applied to Flax-Linen, it reveals a more unexpected side of the fibre: elegant, tactile textiles that blend natural performance with refined aesthetics. A timeless yet distinctive fabric, illustrating the versatility of Flax-Linen.
