Our renewals AI solution, announced yesterday, is set to help brokers accomplish 12-hours of work in an 8-hour workday. We sat down with Lightspeed's Claire Zau and Josh Machiz on the latest episode of Lightwork to unpack how we built it and what this means for today’s brokers. Co-founder and CEO Will Johnson warns we need to focus on the right crisis. We don’t see AI replacing brokers’ jobs. We see it producing important workflow transformation for capacity constrained brokers—automating the tedious, routine admin tasks that earn brokers nothing for their efforts. With insurance brokers facing a capacity crisis that few people in the industry are talking about, AI is essential for brokers to do more for more clients with the limited time they have. From routine tasks like client outreach, needs intake, identifying cross-sell opportunities, scheduling, and post-enrollment follow-up, Gyde’s automations streamline the entire renewals workflow, not just small parts of it, to get more work done in a day than ever before. When a broker gets on the phone or meets with a client, Gyde’s tools make them exceptionally well prepared to do what they do best: advise. How many more clients could you serve with AI tools, and what would that mean for your business? In this Lightwork conversation, Will shares the change we’re already seeing in our partner agencies. AI is redefining the broker’s entire job description.

Will AI replace insurance agents? The short answer? No. But the real answer is far more interesting: AI isn’t replacing the broker—it’s redefining the entire job description. While you shouldn’t worry about being replaced, you might be outpaced, and soon. Ready to see what the broker of the future actually looks like? At Medicarians last week, agency owners stopped asking whether to use AI. They started asking how. Our panel, How to (Actually) Use AI to Grow Your Business, with Jagger Esch, Kevin Brown, and Brandon Clay, was standing room only. The hunger for practical AI playbooks was unmistakable. Three takeaways: 1️⃣ AI belongs across the business—not isolated to one workflow. Most agencies automate one burdensome task and call it a transformation. The ones pulling ahead are deploying AI everywhere they can. → In M&A: faster seller intake, valuations, and proposals. The buyer experience stops dragging on for months and shortens into weeks. → In call centers: AI coaches agents at scale. One supervisor can support more brokers than ever, with real-time, personalized insights that sharpen their training. → In the field: tighter cross-sell recommendations with ready-to-use scripts, so brokers can lead every client conversation equipped with more information. 2️⃣ Adoption is the whole game. → I think of adoption as a trust ladder. Each rung needs buy-in before you climb the next. At Gyde, we're deliberate about what AI should optimize and what belongs to a human. → For call centers, that means treating AI as an enabler, not surveillance -agents don't want someone looking over their shoulder; they want better education and bigger sales. → For field brokers, rollout has to come with transparency. AI needs to be provided to the broker before releasing to their clients. From there, they'll see that their role isn't shrinking. It's expanding into the highest-value, most strategic work. 3️⃣ Brokerages are at an inflection point. Getting ahead, and staying ahead, isn't optional anymore. → Two years from now, the most profitable agencies will be dramatically more profitable. The most productive brokers will be dramatically more productive. → The gap between AI-enabled agencies and everyone else will keep widening - until it's impossible to close. The long tail will thin. The benefits-rich Medicare Advantage plan your client had last year may look different this AEP. OTC benefits are down. Out-of-pocket maximums have crept up. Part B premiums hit a record high. The result? A structural shift we're calling "The Great Unbundling"—and while it can feel like chaos on the front lines, it's creating a real opening for brokers who are willing to show up differently. As plans lean out, brokers are stepping up to build personalized coverage that actually meets their clients' needs. This advisory work is essential, and evidence of the broker’s critical role—but it’s also difficult to scale. The brokers who lean into AI will be the ones who can sustain this level of service for every client in their book. Will Johnson wrote about how brokers can embrace this paradigm shift and become comprehensive guides who turn uncertainty into clarity for their clients. Independent agency owners know they're leaving growth opportunities on the table. Not because they lack talent—because they lack the right infrastructure and capacity. I saw this firsthand: the best brokers in the country were drowning in admin work, stitching together spreadsheets and manual workflows just to get through Q4. As health insurance markets get increasingly complex, the tools simply weren't there to navigate the current paradigm shift. That's why we built Gyde. We're the first AI-native health insurance brokerage, partnering with independent agency owners through acquisition to give them a new path forward: world-class AI technology, a dedicated team to support them, and the infrastructure to scale without sacrificing the white-glove service that built their business. What does that look like in practice? ✅Intelligent automation: Gia manages the client lifecycle—from initial outreach to renewal proposals—streamlining workflows across Medicare, Individual & Family Plans, and Employee Benefits. ✅Producer Empowerment & Lead Generation: GydeOS acts as a real-time co-pilot for your team, identifying cross-sell opportunities and coverage gaps, while our dedicated Value Creation team develops unique partnerships to drive lead generation opportunities. ✅Scalable Infrastructure: we handle the back-office—HR, payroll, and recruiting—so you can focus on high-value advisory work instead of admin. One of our partners said something that stuck with me: "I could never have survived Q4 without Gyde." That's what the next-generation brokerage looks like, powered by Gyde. ➡️ If you haven’t already, watch the rest of the Investment Memo, courtesy of Lightspeed, here: https://lnkd.in/ebkUwKkP. ➡️ Explore partnership with Gyde: https://lnkd.in/eEG5yfNg
