The hottest (still yet to be addressed) topic in insurance these last few years has been product velocity. Claims is critical to closing this loop. Old Core systems surface trends too slowly. A decoupled, bolt-on approach means basic data hygiene between policy and claims systems is a pipe dream. Today we launched Federato Claims to connect the full lifecycle - policy, billing, claims. Our goal was to enable a superior claims experience for insureds, brokers, and insurers, while simultaneously closing that critical data gap. By building claims from the ground up on Federato's signature federated graph, we're able to share context between systems to do just that. Claims has always been about the right balance of customer satisfaction, speed, and efficacy. In an AI world, it has to be about data advantage. Closed decisions inform open decisions. Overall loss experience informs underwriting advantage. Always the dream? Now the reality. Onward! https://lnkd.in/guCnKCzP

$10,145 coordination tax per employee, every single year. That’s what our new research found: P&C insurance teams are losing an average of 5 hours a week to manual coordination work. These are highly skilled knowledge workers who are spending valuable time fixing bad data, re-entering information across systems, and chasing down context that should already be there. What surprised me most in our research is the massive gap in how leaders and front-line teams perceive this reality. 93% of leaders believe underwriting guidelines are applied consistently. 88% of employees report deviations caused by missing data or disconnected tools. The gap between what leadership believes is happening and the reality quietly widens, until it becomes incredibly expensive to fix. You can find the full findings in our "State of P&C Insurance Technology 2026" report, which is officially live today. "If you screw up, you're fired. But, you don't get to sit on the sidelines." That is what insurance executives are hearing in board rooms (euphemistically, of course) where AI is a top priority but regulatory implications, despite any real change in guidance, continue to loom large. Anyone who knows my journey to AI and the eventual origin story of Federato, knows that the intersection of artificial intelligence, regulation, and ethics is of particular interest. Thank you to Oliver Ralph and the Financial Times for the invite to their Global Insurance Summit in London today! Graeme Reynolds from the Financial Conduct Authority and Dr Philipp Raether from Allianz brought a compelling discussion that hit on the hard points: why bias/explainability are not inherently linked, how regulatory guidance is largely unchanged despite these innovations, and whether action or inaction is really what is in the best service of the customer. The biggest takeaway for me is the speed at which insurers and regulators are coming up the sophistication curve as everyone realizes that change is already happening.

The Old Core claims to own product definition but then advocates a best of breed that puts forms in one place and rating another. That feels like a cover up, doesn't it? Our customers thought so. We answered with Product Studio. This launch becomes even more important in the AI era as product definition is itself critical context for agents executing workflows across the full policy lifecycle. Not only does Product Studio accelerate time-to-market with new insurance products, it creates a stable backbone for every workflow that supports the insurance process. If the Old Core's ROI isn't underwriting efficiency and it isn't product definition, what's left? It's time to invest in products that can actually change the way insurance work gets done.
