Proud to see Pathlock named as a Representative Vendor in the 2026 Gartner Market Guide for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)! Gartner puts it well: "in 2026, IGA is evolving from legacy, quarterly cycles of manual access reviews to an autonomous, continuous, and outcome-driven process that encompasses both access certification and provisioning." I lead Customer Engineering and Support at Pathlock, so I see that shift up close — customers moving off manual, periodic reviews toward continuous, outcome-driven governance. This recognition tracks with what I'm hearing from them every day. Read the full guide: https://lnkd.in/ezdAuu3f #IdentityGovernance #IGA #IdentitySecurity

Emergency (Firefighter) access has always been its own tool, separate from SAP IDM. A move off IDM is a chance to reduce the number of separate tools, not add to them — bringing elevated access management onto the same platform as identity and access governance. Time-boxed, monitored, with the audit trail written automatically, so privileged access is governed in the same place as everything else.

An S/4 migration almost always inherits years of accumulated access — it's rarely a clean slate. That makes it the moment to fix how provisioning works, not repeat it. If access is still granted by manual approval and cleaned up afterward, the new system carries the old habits forward. Compliant provisioning runs a preventive SoD check at the point of request, so access is right before it's granted instead of remediated at the first audit.

SAP IDM handled provisioning and lifecycle — not segregation of duties. The access risk and SoD analysis you need has always lived in a separate GRC tool. A move off SAP IDM is the moment to bring identity lifecycle and access risk analysis onto one platform, so conflicts are quantified and remediated where access is managed, instead of adding yet another tool to the stack.

An S/4 program runs on elevated access — the migration work itself needs broad permissions, and cutover and hypercare push emergency access higher still. That's a long stretch where privileged activity is heavy and easy to lose track of. Firefighter access that's time-boxed and monitored, with the audit trail written automatically, keeps the program moving without leaving a gap to reconstruct later.
