As we prepare to celebrate the 10th National IHF Employee of the Year Awards at our Annual Conference in February 2027, we're catching up with previous winners to learn where their careers and journeys have taken them since receiving the award. Next up is Chantalle Wymbs, a Senior Chef de Partie at Harvey's Point ® and the current National IHF Employee of the Year, having been awarded the title earlier this year while representing the Donegal Branch. Today Chantalle reflects on her journey into hospitality, the mentors and colleagues who have helped shape her career, and how the accolade has strengthened her confidence and reaffirmed her passion for the industry. “I’m especially passionate about the creativity that comes with being a chef. I originally studied Art and Design, and I feel that creative side of me never disappeared – I just found a different canvas in the kitchen… Food is such an important part of a hotel experience, and knowing that something we create can become part of a special memory for a guest is incredibly rewarding.” Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/dpjBcr62

As we prepare to celebrate the 10th National IHF Employee of the Year Awards at our Annual Conference in February 2027, we're catching up with previous winners to learn where their careers and journeys have taken them since receiving the award. Next up is Andrea Burke, who was named National IHF Employee of the Year in 2024 while representing the Sligo Branch and working as a Food and Beverage Assistant at the Sligo Park Hotel. Today, as Restaurant Manager at the hotel, Andrea shares how hospitality has shaped her confidence, fuelled a passion for leadership and guest experience, and inspired her to keep striving for new goals. “I started when I was 18, thinking it was only going to be a part-time job. What began as an entry into the industry has developed into a career that I am genuinely passionate about. Over almost eight years, I have progressed through different roles while continuing to develop my knowledge through education and experience. … Hospitality has shown me that with the right mindset, there is always an opportunity to progress.” Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/dG9hdt5d
