We’re two-plus years into AI Search dismantling what we thought we knew about organic search strategy, search behavior, and the customer journey. I spent the last three months on discovery calls, and every company had a different context: • resources • teams involved • stages of planning and execution • content foundations • levels of leadership pressure • opinions on what the channel is worth Everyone is trying to figure out how to build a mature AI Search program without setting themselves up to fail six months from now. You can’t afford to ignore it, and you need to procure budget. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Claude change the value prop constantly. The value is hard to define. Y'all got different opinions. The measurement is messy because a lot of OG analytics aren't configured correctly in the first place. And ownership is unclear. Who is taking this on? Ignoring it is still a choice, and that choice has consequences. AI Search looks different depending on your role, business model, and org maturity. Leading SEO for an ecommerce company? You have to answer the awkward internal question of who owns what. Your SEO team can’t fix weak product data alone, your content team isn't working on the product feed, and your leadership team needs to understand why AI visibility may depend on merchandising, lifecycle, PR, dev, customer experience, and the entire brand footprint. SEO lead inside a newsroom? Completely different problems. You’re thinking about site structure, templates, author pages, follow buttons, crawlability. Then you have to explain the AI Search implications to devs without making it sound like another random SEO ticket. You have to talk to editors and journalists in a way that doesn’t make AI feel like a stain on editorial judgment. If you’re on a lean marketing team (hi, it's me most of my career), the question is more blunt: how the hell do you prioritize this when you can’t do it all? You still have content, website dev, SEO, email, paid, webinars, and reporting on your plate: What do we think will move visibility? What can we test in 30–60 days? What is big enough to matter, but small enough to ship? CMO of a mid-market company? You're deciding whether to hand the whole thing to SEO since you don’t have budget for a dedicated AI Search role. Maybe that works for now. Maybe that becomes the argument for budget. A responsible AI Search program needs ownership, resourcing, internal education, agreed-upon metrics, and a clear view of how the work connects to short-term and long-term revenue. There isn’t one AI Search playbook. We wrote a manual, but no manual knows the exact context, constraints, politics, and maturity level inside your business. Want to make progress? Stop treating AI Search like a side project for SEO. Treat it like a cross-functional visibility problem. I’m not saying your business should be in the middle of an existential crisis, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it feels that way.

AI Search has already affected your brand’s visibility. This program offers four strategic deliverables that position you for AI Search. The discovery call focuses on where AI platforms currently surface your brand and what actions are worth prioritizing next.

AI Search is already deciding which brands lead categories and which disappear from the conversation entirely. The gap between brands that understand this and brands that don't is compounding every quarter.
