New research from the Framingham Heart Study adds to the scientific discussion on nuts and cognitive health. Published in Food & Function, the study analyzed data from 1,742 adults without a history of stroke. After adjusting for demographic, lifestyle and health-related factors, higher habitual nut consumption was associated with better global cognitive performance. The association was particularly evident among participants with lower diet quality or lower physical activity levels, highlighting the relevance of lifestyle context when investigating the relationship between nutrition and cognition. These observational findings do not establish causality. Over 10 years of follow-up, nut consumption was not associated with the incidence of stroke or dementia. For our sector, the study offers further insight into the potential role of nuts in cognitive health and contributes to the research informing how we communicate their nutritional value. Why are leading companies across three continents choosing INC Certification? At a recent INC webinar, three early adopters shared their reasons — and what the certification is already doing for their businesses. Carriere Family Farms (Americas) — Bill Carriere, President & CEO, explained how the certification recognises work already being done, complements existing audits, and helps companies stand out in customer and trade discussions. Al Jameel International (EMEA) — Mahmoud Akrin, Managing Director, shared what motivated the company to become an early adopter and its experience working towards a clearer, more consistent approach to sustainability. Almondco Australia (Asia-Pacific) — Dylan Klingbiel, Group Sustainability Manager, explained why the grower-owned cooperative selected INC Certification after reviewing more than 50 sustainability frameworks — and why he believes it will become the "industry-specific, credible badge of honour." INC Certification is the first sustainability certification designed exclusively for the nut and dried fruit industry — built by the industry, for the industry, and open to INC members across the value chain: growers, processors, manufacturers and global trade specialists. If your company is an INC member, now is the time to join the early adopters. For the first time, the #INC Pavilion opens at Natural Products Expo West. From 3–6 March 2027, INC members will have the opportunity to exhibit under the INC umbrella at the Anaheim Convention Center, California — one of the leading natural products trade shows in the U.S. and a key gateway to buyers, retailers and distributors in the North American market. The 80 m² Pavilion in Hall D (Natural & Specialty Food) has been designed as a hub for business and connection. Alongside the co-exhibitor spaces, a dedicated networking area with a coffee counter and meeting tables will give members a professional, welcoming setting to meet customers, partners and fellow industry professionals throughout the show. Exhibiting as part of the INC community means arriving at Expo West with the backing of the global reference for the nut and dried fruit industry — and sharing a space built to generate conversations, not just footfall. Space is limited and a small number of sponsorship opportunities are also available for companies looking to extend their visibility across the Pavilion. 📲 Full details and booking (INC members area): https://lnkd.in/eA2SYTez #INCPavilion #ExpoWest #NutsAndDriedFruit #INC
