Violence and harassment in the world of work stop here. Seven years ago, ILO Convention No. 190 was adopted — the first international treaty to recognize the right of everyone to a world of work free from violence and harassment. Today, with 56 ratifications, C190 is the fastest-ratified ILO Convention of the past decade. It’s time for every country to #RatifyC190. Together, we can look forward to the day when, for the first time, everyone will have the right to a world of work free from violence and harassment. 👉For more info visit https://ow.ly/aaFl50Wc5UA

Micro, small and medium enterprises are central to our economies, employing 70% of workers globally. Yet they face enormous challenges — from economic uncertainty and climate shocks to financial insecurity and the pressures of adapting to rapid technological, digital and green transitions. Recognising their critical role, the International Labour Organization continues to place MSMEs at the centre of efforts towards inclusive development and social justice, ensuring they are not left behind. This Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, let’s reflect on what MSMEs need to succeed in a rapidly changing world of work. If you work with or support MSMEs, what is the biggest challenge you see today? ✍️ #MSMEsDay

Domestic workers are central to the global care economy. They make it possible for millions of women and men to participate in the labour market while caring for their families. As populations age and care needs grow, domestic workers - especially migrant domestic workers - are becoming even more essential to societies and labour markets. A sustainable future of care starts with rights and protection for domestic workers. #RatifyC189

Every morning, millions of women and many men wake early to cook, clean, and care for other people's families and homes. For generations, this work was invisible. Convention 189 made it visible. Domestic workers have sustained households and economies while being denied basic labor rights, until C189. C189 changed the conversation. It established that domestic work is work, and that domestic workers are entitled to dignity, protection, and voice, like all workers. They should enjoy fundamental principles and rights at work and the same working conditions as other workers. Today, more domestic workers are covered by labor laws, thanks to C189, but many still do not benefit from its protections. Demand for care is growing, and with it, the need for domestic work. We must ensure that all domestic workers are protected in law and in practice. So on this 15th anniversary, it's time to recommit to ratify and implement C189 for decent work for domestic workers and sustainable quality care for all. #RatifyC189

More than 1 billion people are cooperative members. Behind this number are people organizing collectively to meet shared economic, social and cultural needs, to improve livelihoods, and to expand access to services and opportunities. Across regions and sectors, cooperatives contribute to stronger local economies, decent work and more inclusive development. Have you ever been part of a cooperative? Share your experience in the comments. ✍️ #CoopsDay

🚺 Women represent only two-fifths of global employment: a sign that significant barriers to work persist. Employment and Social Trends 2026 finds that in 2025, women were 24.2% less likely than men to be in the labour force. These gender gaps vary greatly by region, underscoring the role of social norms and stereotypes and unequal access to opportunities, with limited recent progress. The report also highlights that young women were 14.4 % more likely than young men to be NEET (not in employment, education or training), pointing to early and lasting disadvantages in access to opportunities.
