Every ecom guru says increase AOV. We decreased it and made $42k more for our bagel brand client. AOV dropped 3.91%. Conversion rate jumped 20.14%. Most DTC food brands obsess over basket size. They push customers toward bigger orders and wonder why conversions tank. We flipped the script with this bagel company. Instead of forcing large bundles, they let customers build their own. Visual selector for flavors. Dynamic pricing that updates in real-time. Quantity control in the customer's hands. The psychology here is brilliant. When customers feel control over their purchase, friction disappears. They're not being sold to. They're creating their perfect order. Result: 20% more people bought something. Even though each order was slightly smaller, total revenue exploded 15.44%. Estimated to add $42,405 additional MRR if implemented. This is the conversion rate vs AOV trade-off most DTC founders get wrong. You don't always need bigger baskets. Sometimes you need more baskets. Customer control beats forced upsells every time. Give people choice architecture instead of choice pressure. Your food brand customers want to feel smart about their selections, not manipulated into bigger orders. Dashboard courtesy of Intelligems - We added $22 million to one DTC Shopify store last year. Let's talk if you want to add $100k+ MRR in the next 90 days: https://lnkd.in/dnm_QbnD

When was the last time you changed your prices? Most founders don’t touch them because they’re afraid that: - Customers might get mad - Support team won’t know what to say - Brand’s perception will be damaged - Competitors will copy or undercut - Sales might go up but profits down —— And yet, in e-commerce, price testing has never been easier. Think about brick-and-mortar stores: they have to update price tags, menus, catalogs, and all their promotional materials. I experienced this firsthand with a physical shop I used to run, having to adjust everything for France’s 5% inflation in 2022. It was real headache. For you? It’s a few clicks in Shopify. The real cost isn’t technical. It’s the stories you tell yourself about why you can’t test it. —— Here’s how to reduce the fear: - Prepare CX templates for common complaints - Explain that prices adapt to different markets - Focus on profitability over competitor moves - Track profit per visitor with tools like Intelligems - Test fast, and adapt to your market fast - Lastly, read Drew Marconi 💎's Founder Newsletter Done right, you can see profit per visitor rise by 5% very quickly. Again... when was the last time you really looked at your prices?

📦 🚚 Genuine question about this free shipping threshold test we ran 🤔: Both a $75 and a $125 free shipping threshold beat our control $100 free shipping threshold. Exciting but we've kind of got a Sophie's Choice on our hand. $75: Highest lift in conversion rate. *Potentially better for new customer acquisition if we want to onboard as many new customers as possible (which we do). $125: Highest lift in profit per visitor. *Who doesn't love a 10% lift in profit per visitor, but not quite as good at getting customers over the line as $75. Which one should we choose as our winner? Or are there questions we aren't asking/thinking about that we should? 👀 the screenshot from Intelligems.

Offer offer offer! It's all about the offer and how clearly you can position it. For this test, we wanted to add more clarity to the savings for larger packs (single, 3-pack, 5-pack). By breaking down daily savings more clearly, we were able to add an additional $10k/mo in profit. Not too shabby! Also, shout to our friends at Intelligemsfor making it easy to understand the impact our tests have to the bottom line.
