We talk about skills-first all the time. But are we really making progress? The Skills-First Readiness and Adoption Index, co-developed by the Institute for Adult Learning and the OECD - OCDE (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), tracks how 30 countries are progressing towards a skills-first economy. Drawing on 25 indicators across three areas — learning ecosystems, talent recognition, and enabling environments — the index offers a comprehensive view of how ready countries are to embrace skills-first practices, and how widely these practices have been adopted. It highlights the dimensions where each country shows strength and where further improvement may be needed. Good teaching is shaped by constant reflection. Reflective practice helps adult educators understand not just what they taught, but why certain approaches work better than others. Here are ways reflection strengthens the learning experience for adult educators: • It sharpens decision-making in the classroom. • It helps you adapt your methods with more intention and confidence. #IALSG #LifelongLearning #AdultEducators #AETranslator

Every disruption in the workplace reshapes how we teach. For adult educators (AE), staying credible means staying curious – particularly on how we meaningfully engage adult learners in a changing world. Dr. Eunice Lim (PhD)'s career embodies this. Having pivoted from real estate to adult education, she achieved the SkillsFuture Fellowship in 2021 – Singapore’s highest honour for lifelong learning. Over the past 15 years, she has continued to redefine effective learning through creative, purposeful facilitation. As the future of work evolves, AEs must evolve too. At IAL, we champion this spirit of transformation, ensuring our practice keeps pace with tomorrow’s skills. Read her story: https://lnkd.in/gzbA2-Vs #IALSG #LifelongLearning #AdultEducators
