Dismantling ≠ end of life. When a wind turbine is dismantled, it does not necessarily mean its working life is over. As older wind farms are repowered, existing turbines are replaced with newer, more powerful and more efficient technology. But many of the turbines being removed are still technically capable of operating for years. That is why our first priority is to give them a second life. When a turbine is suitable for reuse, we carefully dismantle it so it can be transported, reassembled and put back into operation at another site. INIKTI teams have already helped wind turbines begin their second life in Germany, Scandinavia and even as far away as Australia. And when the complete turbine can no longer be reused, individual components can still serve as spare parts, extending the operational life of other turbines. Only what cannot be reused moves on to recycling and material recovery. “Repowering is not simply about replacing old technology with new. An important part of the process is finding ways to give already manufactured equipment a second life,” says Aivaras Stumbras, CEO of INIKTI. Another wind turbine dismantling project successfully completed in Germany. 🇩🇪 Repowering is currently one of the most relevant areas of the German wind energy market, as existing wind farms are being upgraded with newer and more efficient technology. The INIKTI team has successfully completed the dismantling project in Heiden, Germany, where five wind turbines were dismantled: • 4 × GE Vernova 1.5 SL — hub height: 100 m, rotor diameter: 77 m, capacity: 1.5 MW each. • 1 × ENERCON E-40 — hub height: 76 m, rotor diameter: 40 m, capacity: 0.6 MW. ❗WE ARE HIRING❗ We’re looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Site Manager to take charge of challenging wind turbine foundation projects. Responsibilities: 💡 Lead and coordinate construction works on wind turbine foundation projects; 💡 Manage on-site teams, subcontractors, and daily activities; 💡 Plan and supervise complex concrete and foundation works; 💡 Ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards; 💡 Solve technical and operational issues on site; 💡 Monitor progress, materials, productivity, and documentation; 💡 Manage work handovers and project documentation. Requirements: ✔️ Extensive proven experience supervising and managing concrete works, ideally specifically in wind turbine foundation construction; ✔️ Strong practical knowledge of large-scale and technically demanding concrete pours and foundation construction; ✔️ Experience with the full construction cycle of wind turbine foundations would be a major advantage; ✔️ Excellent understanding of concrete technology, reinforcement, formwork, embedded elements, quality control, and construction sequencing; ✔️ Ability to independently manage complex construction activities and make decisions on site; ✔️ Strong experience leading multinational teams and coordinating subcontractors; ✔️ Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation; ✔️ Good command of English; ✔️ Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ✔️ Willingness to work on international projects and travel when required.
