We were delighted to recently host our inaugural #Healthcare Symposium, bringing together founders, entrepreneurs and senior leaders from across the sector. The sector sits at an inflection point, supported by considerable capital available for investment and a strong pipeline of businesses with the ambition to grow. It is an encouraging environment, and one that presents a compelling opportunity for those looking to build in the space. Our thanks to everyone who joined us, to our speakers, and to Bain & Company for hosting us at their London office. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ekCZ4yFX #BackingAmbition #AcceleratingGrowth

The best pharmaceutical businesses are not always built on inventing new drugs. Sometimes they are built on getting proven medicines to more of the patients who need them. That is the model behind CNX Therapeutics, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on improving patient access to essential medicines. It did not exist before 2021, when Inflexion carved it out of US pharma group Sunovion Pharmaceuticals with a single product. Today it spans more than 60 countries, has grown to 25 products, and became the first UK-based pharmaceutical company to earn B Corp status. In the latest episode of Inflexion Point, we mark CNX Therapeutics' fifth anniversary. CNX CEO Guy Clark joins host Tim Smallbone and Inflexion's Christian Fellowes to talk through: 👩⚕️How a thesis first sketched on a napkin became a pan-European platform 🩺 Why so many effective medicines never reach the patients who need them 🔬 The discipline of buy-and-build in a fragmented market 💊 Scaling from 17 people to nearly 70 without losing what made the culture special 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/e7f6CvFc 🎤See our full catalogue of Inflexion Point stories here: https://lnkd.in/eTfBJc2u

Where CNX once acquired national products selling in a handful of countries, it now holds a treatment with genuine global potential, with healthcare professionals and potential distributors approaching it from around the world. Some of the medicines the industry overlooks are the ones patients depend on most. Schizophrenia. Multiple sclerosis. Parkinson's. Chronic conditions where innovation has been slow, and where a small change- a tablet taken once a week instead of three times a day, can reshape a person's daily life. CNX Therapeutics was created in 2021 to give these treatments a home and a route to market. Its model is simple in theory and hard in practice: acquire established brands that larger companies have stopped investing in, apply real commercial and regulatory rigour, and get them to the patients who need them across Europe. Five years on, the platform has moved from small national products to genuine global potential, most recently through the rights to the world's first cannabis based medicine for multiple sclerosis. CEO Guy Clark and Inflexion's Christian Fellowes tell the story in the latest episode of Inflexion Point. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/e7f6CvFc
