ITP were delighted to welcome Clive Dickin, CEO of the NASC - National Access and Scaffolding Confederation, to officially open our new Product Development and Testing Facility at our headquarters in Easingwold. Clive performed the ribbon-cutting at our opening ceremony, marking the completion of a five-month project to transform an existing warehouse into a fully equipped laboratory. The new facility is designed to deliver comprehensive testing and benchmarking across a range of crucial performance metrics, from tensile strength to flame retardancy. The lab features advanced technology to support the rigorous assessment of our extensive product range: protective building membranes for roof and wall applications, ground gas barriers, sheeting for scaffolding and temporary fencing, acoustic barriers, debris netting, defence products and keder sheeting. ITP Managing Director, Carl Morse, said: “A big thanks to Clive for visiting to officially open our new testing facility. Clive was an especially fitting choice, as ITP has worked closely with the NASC in advocating best practice in the management and testing of safety and performance standards across the scaffolding and access sector. This new laboratory epitomises the robust approach required to uphold the highest standards, going above and beyond regulatory compliance. To supplement certified evidence from independent testing, we can now film and record our own in-house tests, with results captured and measured through integrated software to demonstrate the quality and reliability of our products. It also enables us to benchmark our products against competitors and ensure that ours continue to lead the market in performance.” Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ejFxEB-m

Maximising the longevity of the building’s envelope requires dual protection against water damage, ensuring the insulation layer remains in optimum condition. Two key components can provide that protection: vapour control layers (VCLs) and breather membranes. VCLs protect from the inside by controlling the movement of water vapour, reducing the risk of condensation forming within the fabric of the building. At the same time, breather membranes defend on the outside of the insulation, allowing trapped moisture to escape while preventing rain ingress from penetrating the structure. Together, they create a powerful twin barrier against the threats of water vapour and rain, helping to maintain thermal performance, structural integrity, and long-term durability. Smart specification. Robust protection. A healthier, longer-lasting building envelope. ITP are delighted to share that our FlameOut Block vapour control layer has been specified for the new extension at EKC Sheppey College, a key part of the £20 million Sheerness Revival project. Jenners Contractors Ltd are overseeing the construction of the new 900 m² facility, which will house engineering, creative media and logistics courses, giving local students access to high-quality skills training. FlameOut Block was installed by leading façade specialists, Apex Facades. The product provides a range of performance benefits that enhance the durability and safety of the building: • Euroclass B-s1, d0 flame-retardant performance • High vapour resistance, protecting insulation from moisture and preventing interstitial condensation • Reinforced scrim for strength and reliability during installation • Supports airtightness and energy-efficient performance This is a fantastic project delivering real social value for the community, and we’re proud to contribute to its success. 🔗 Learn more about FlameOut Block https://lnkd.in/emM39GB7 Thank you to Kerri Collins for the use of the images #buildingenvelope #vcl #facadeconstruction
