Hydrix has been selected by SynCardia Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Picard Medical, Inc (NYSE: PME), to commence development collaboration on the Emperor, SynCardia’s next-generation fully implantable Total Artificial Heart (TAH). Hydrix will collaborate with SynCardia, which will draw on decades of real-world patient experience with artificial hearts, to tackle some of the most demanding challenges in cardiac care. As a fully implantable TAH, Emperor is intended to eliminate the use of an external driver, offering greater convenience and increased patient mobility. This is exactly the kind of challenge where Hydrix will build on more than 15 years supporting global artificial heart and related circulatory support device development. The Hydrix team is thrilled at the opportunity to apply deep, multi-discipline engineering capability to safety-critical cardiac technologies and to work closely with teams such as SynCardia operating at the frontier of highly regulated, life-saving medical technologies. Patrick N.J. Schnegelsberg, CEO of SynCardia Systems, said: “Hydrix’s expertise and demonstrated track record in advancing complex cardiovascular technologies will support our shared objective of developing solutions for patients with advanced heart failure.” The development collaboration reflects Picard Medical’s focus on partnering with world-class engineering organizations capable of supporting long-term, high-value development programs for mission-critical, life-sustaining technologies. 🔗 SynCardia announcement: https://lnkd.in/g6NFQVSM 🔗 Hydrix market release: https://lnkd.in/guqbBJ6C #MedTech #MedicalDevices #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #HealthTech #Cardiology #HeartFailure #ArtificialHeart #MechanicalCirculatorySupport #CardiacCare
