【Cadet Pilot Programme: A Legacy Passed Through the Skies】 Some dreams aren’t born in a moment. They grow quietly over time, shaped by the people around us. Mathias is a graduate of the first class of HKIAA’s Cadet Pilot Programme. To him, being a pilot was never just a career. It was part of his upbringing. Mathias’s father is a pilot, and his mother works as a cabin crew member. Surrounded by the rhythm of the skies, his dream of flying took root early. “When my dad took me to try a flight simulator, I knew right then—I wanted to follow in his footsteps. One day, I hope we’ll fly together, side by side.” That dream became his motivation. Throughout the Cadet Pilot Programme, Mathias stayed focused and determined. He recalls that the toughest challenge is the subject of Flight Planning at Theoretical Knowledge Instruction (TKI). “It’s a critical foundation for every pilot. I knew I had to double down and give it my all. It was the hardest exam of them all.” His hard work paid off. After passing all exams, Mathias headed to Redding, California for flight training, where he experienced the thrill of flying for the first time. Watch his story and witness how he took a major step toward his dream of sharing the cockpit with his father. HKIAA’s Cadet Pilot Programme spans approximately 14 months. Students begin with approximately six months of Theoretical Knowledge Instruction (TKI) in Hong Kong. After passing the exams, they proceed to California, US or Chengdu. Mainland China for approximately 8 to 10 months of Flight Training. They then return to Hong Kong for a two-week Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course. Graduates will be eligible for the grant of a CAD Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) to apply for their preferred local airlines and embark on their professional aviation journey. Follow us and witness how our cadets rise from dreamers to pilots. 🔗Programme information.: https://bit.ly/4oMPLyL ##HKIAA #AviationAcademy #Aviation #HKG #VHHH #CaptainSpeaking #Captain #Pilot #CadetPilot #CadetPilotTrainingProgramme #HongKongCaptain #TKI #IASCO #MCC #IHaveControl

【Advanced Master in Air Transport Management | A Finance Professional's Aviation Perspective】 "This programme perfectly combines theory and practice," shares Rowling from the 2023 AMATM cohort. As a client chief investment officer at an international asset management company, Rowling's work primarily involves helping clients preserve and grow their wealth through asset allocation and portfolio construction. Despite her finance background, Rowling's lifelong passion for aviation and her professional involvement in aviation asset valuations motivated her to pursue the Advanced Master in Air Transport Management. "What I like most about this programme is that it combines elements of Business Administration courses like marketing and human resources, while maintaining a strong industry focus that helps us understand airline strategy, aviation-specific marketing, and how to manage airports and airlines. These aspects have given me a deeper understanding of the industry landscape as a whole." Working in an international company, Rowling particularly appreciates the programme's diverse learning environment. "Through this programme, I've had more opportunities to interact with people from North Asia and Southeast Asia. During group discussions and projects, I've gained better awareness of different cultural sensitivities and perspectives from various cultures and regions. This has fed back into my daily work, helping me with communication and engagement with people from different regions." Rowling found the air transport economics module especially memorable: "We learned about aircraft evaluation, business profitability assessment, and crisis management. Coming from a finance background, the financial elements of the course aligned with some of my previous work, which was very helpful."
