A fixed-rate energy contract no longer controls most of your bills 📈 Non-commodity charges, the network, policy, and system costs bundled into every bill, are on track to account for close to 60% of a typical UK business electricity bill in 2026. TNUoS is rising by more than 60% year-on-year for the current charging period. Standing charges have roughly doubled for many SMEs since 2021. For businesses still focused solely on hunting a marginally cheaper tariff at renewal, this means managing the smaller, more stable part of the bill while the larger part goes unmanaged. The practical implication: a fixed-rate contract does nothing to control more than half of what you now pay. The businesses best positioned for 2026 are the ones shifting focus to what they can actually influence: when and how energy is used, not just the rate paid for it. ⚡ Our CEO Thomas Eskebæk breaks down what is really driving UK business energy costs in 2026, where relief exists (and where it does not), and what commercial operators can do about the half of the bill their contract will not fix. 🔗 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eHYX_4Bb Want to know what this means for your sites? 💬 Talk to our team: https://lnkd.in/ey-4A7h7 #EnergyManagement #CommercialEnergy #EnergyCosts #TNUoS #UKBusiness #EnergyIntelligence #Heliotec

Our energy monitoring services are cutting fault resolution dramatically, whilst most other energy monitoring services still queue findings before alerting ⏱️ Industry data shows modern platforms have reduced fault resolution from 38 days down to 8. For large retail portfolios, that is translating into millions in recovered savings each year (Source: MRI Software, 2026). What stands out when we are talking to energy managers: those 8 days still involve someone waiting for a facilities management team to triage a flag, escalate it, and send it on to a site manager. The lag is shorter, but the queue is still there... ⚡ Heliotec removes this stage entirely. Findings go directly to the site manager the moment an anomaly is detected. Faults flagged in as little as 30 minutes, depending on your site’s monitoring setup. Compare that with the industry baseline of 38 days. 🔗 See how Heliotec cuts fault alerts to minutes: https://lnkd.in/e8FTG8CN Want to benchmark Heliotec against your current energy management system? 🔗 Schedule a 20-min demo: https://lnkd.in/eJAikrA9 💬 Talk to us: https://lnkd.in/ey-4A7h7 #EnergyManagement #EnergyIntelligence #CommercialEnergy #FacilitiesManagement #UKBusiness #Heliotec

How much of your last energy bill was actually the energy you used? 🧾 Most business operators would say most of it. Wholesale consumption is usually only part of the total. The rest is a stack of charges (network, environmental, standing, capacity) that respond to how, when, and where a site draws power. Some of those charges are fixed. Some respond to consumption timing. The businesses managing energy well should know the difference between a cost that is fixed and a cost that is a consequence. ⚡ Our Commercial Director Nick Ballamy breaks down what's actually on the bill and where the assumptions people make tend to be wrong. 🔗 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eaCyS9BE Want to know what this means for your sites? 💬 Book a 30-min call: https://lnkd.in/ey-4A7h7 #EnergyManagement #CommercialEnergy #EnergyCosts #UKBusiness #Heliotec
