Join Professor Richard Carey Smith (The University of Western Australia) on Wednesday, November 4th at 6 am ET/1 pm CET/ 7 pm Perth for a discussion on peripheral nerve tumors. Peripheral nerve tumors present complex diagnostic and treatment challenges. Although many are benign, these tumors can cause significant pain, sensory changes, weakness, and loss of function and some may represent malignant disease requiring coordinated oncologic care. This webinar will review the evaluation of suspected peripheral nerve tumors, appropriate use of imaging and biopsy, indications for surgery, and strategies for balancing tumor control with preservation of nerve function. Join us for a webinar on peripheral nerve injuries in sports led by Dr. Tom Quick (University of Bristol) and Dr. Mark Mahan (University of Utah School of Medicine). The discssion will cover sports-related peripheral nerve injuries, from stingers and brachial plexus trauma to nerve entrapments and compression syndromes. These injuries can sideline athletes and, if missed or mismanaged, threaten long-term function. This webinar brings together three leading voices in nerve injury care to explore how these injuries are recognized, treated, and rehabilitated. Hazel Brown, a UK-based Physiotherapist specializing in hand and upper limb rehabilitation, will moderate the webinar. Together, the panel will discuss how to recognize red-flag symptoms in athletes, when imaging and nerve conduction studies are warranted, and surgical options when conservative treatment fails to support athletes returning safely to sport. Who should attend: sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, and clinicians involved in the care of athletes with nerve-related symptoms.

Registration is now open for the 2027 NYC Multidisciplinary Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Symposium: From Diagnosis to Recovery! Presented by the Global Nerve Foundation in partnership with NYU Langone Health and Hospital for Special Surgery, this two-day symposium will bring together surgeons, radiologists, rehabilitation professionals, and clinical researchers on May 5–6, 2027, in New York City. The interactive program will examine the full continuum of peripheral nerve care—from diagnosis and treatment planning through reconstruction, rehabilitation, and meaningful recovery. Program highlights include: • Integrating clinical examination, electrodiagnostics, MRI, ultrasound, and functional assessment • Multidisciplinary management of shoulder, elbow, and hand function following brachial plexus injury • Pelvic and lumbosacral plexus conditions involving trauma, inflammation, and neoplasm • Postoperative occupational and physical therapy • Translational science in nerve regeneration and muscle preservation • Bionic technologies, neural interfaces, and the future of peripheral nerve care • Patient-centered outcomes that measure function, sensation, pain, independence, and quality of life The symposium will feature concise expert presentations, case-based discussions, multidisciplinary panels, and abstract sessions. In-person and virtual registration options are available. Early-bird pricing is offered through December 31, 2026. Registration for our free webinar on corneal neurotization is now open! 📅 This webinar will be held on Monday, September 21 at 8 pm ET. Join Dr. Asim-Ali (The Hospital for Sick Children) and Dr. Gregory Borschel (Indiana University School of Medicine) for an in-depth exploration of corneal neurotization. Corneal neurotization is an innovative surgical technique that is transforming the treatment of neurotrophic keratopathy, a condition that can lead to progressive vision loss and even blindness when the cornea loses its nerve supply. The webinar, moderated by Dr. Johnny Chuieng-Yi Lu (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center), will begin with the fundamentals: a review of ocular anatomy and the critical role corneal innervation plays in maintaining a healthy eye surface. From there, the discussion will turn to the clinical picture including how trauma, surgical complications, and neurological conditions can damage the trigeminal nerve pathways responsible for corneal sensation, resulting in anesthetic corneas prone to breakdown, ulceration, scarring, and vision loss. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of why corneal neurotization represents a paradigm shift in managing neurotrophic keratopathy, moving beyond symptom management toward true restoration of corneal health. Who should attend: Ophthalmologists, cornea specialists, oculoplastic surgeons, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, residents, fellows, and allied eye care professionals interested in emerging surgical treatments for corneal disease.
